A RT ISA NA L M O D ER NIS M Inspired by the European 20th century, artist’s ateliers from the likes of Jean Arp and Brancusi, and small batch artisanal production, Lemieux Et Cie celebrates the community of artisans that make the product possible. Weather the in evidence of the hand, the imperfection of the materials, this new brand is about the collaboration and celebration between designer and the craftsperson behind each piece. Drawing from almost a decade of doing business in Europe, designer Christiane Lemieux and her team opened up her archives and brought to life inspiration from the historical, the found and the collected. The collection features raw materials, sun bleached accents, dry finishes, white, black and neutrals and antique metals.

With details, like purposely distressed leather and hand applied finishes, the collection is about the organic evolution of interiors.

T HE A RGA N C O L L E C T I O N

With a reverence for symmetry and simple geometric shapes, the Argan Collection was inspired by traditional African mud cloth patterns. Made from a handwoven combination of jute and wool, each rug possesses a perfectly imperfect look. The evidence of the maker infuses each rug style with custom textures and variations that are finished with a raised wool topstitch.

Inspired by everything from Shibori, Scandinavian flatweaves, and a myriad of other hand-dyed textiles, the Duar Collection has a rich sense of history in its patterns.

Space dyed, you’ll see color undulation in each style, ranging from deep indigo to almost black. Each pattern, from micro dashes to broad sweeping stripes, creates a sense of fluidity and motion within the rug.

Traditional Moroccan rag rugs inspire the Doukkala Collection. Hand knotted out of wool, the pile is hand-shorn to create an irregularity in the look, forming a thick, almost cloud-like texture underfoot. The loosest interpretations of a Moroccan rug, the saturated colors, like a dusty mauve or rich oxblood, feel sophisticated and aged.
