SENIOR BIOS
Miles Boykin:
Miles is the son of George and Felicia Boykin. He attended Central Middle School and played travel basketball for the Windy City Magic. Miles is a 4 year varsity basketball player. His basketball accolades include being named All-Conference as sophomore and junior, All Area as a junior and to the WJOL Thanksgiving All-Tournament team. Miles is also one of the top football players in the area. His football accolades include being named All Conference, All American and Offensive Player of the Year. Miles will be attending Division 1 University of Notre Dame on a football scholarship. Coach Trendel says: “Miles is the best athlete I have been around in all my 18 years of high school coaching. He is a game changer. Miles could be a Division I athlete in just about any sport. I think we will be watching him on Sundays sometime soon.”
Jack Brody:
Jack is the son of John and Sue Brody. He attended Homer Jr. High and played travel basketball for the Windy City Magic. He is a 2 year varsity basketball player. Jack was a part of 2013 Sophomore Chicago Catholic League Champions with a record of 25-1. His basketball accolades include being named Chicago Catholic League South All Conference and Joliet Herald News All Area Honorable Mention. Jack will be attending the University of Indianapolis on a basketball scholarship. Coach Trendel Says: “Jack is one of the best all-around players I have coached. Jack has superior skills in just about every aspect of the game. It has been really fun to watch Jack grow and mature both on and off the court these last four years. I envision a great career for Jack at the University of Indy!”
Troy Howat:
Troy is the son of Rick and Janet Howat. He attended St. Mary Immaculate Parish School and played travel basketball for the Windy City Magic. He is a 2 year varsity basketball player. Troy was a part of the 2013 Sophomore Chicago Catholic League Champions with a record of 25-1. He was a sectional qualifier in the IHSA 3 point shooting contest. As a student, he has achieved First Honors all 4 years and is a part of the National Honor Society. Troy will attend Carrol University where he will play basketball. Coach Trendel Says: “Troy is one of the top offensive basketball players in the area. Over the last 4 years, Troy has worked extremely hard to expand his offensive skills. Troy will be a tremendous addition to the Carroll University Basketball Program. All the best in the future Troy!”
Tyler Pygon:
Tyler is the son of Dave and Michelle Pygon. He attended Century Middle School and played travel basketball for the Windy City Magic. He is a 2 year varsity basketball player. Tyler was a part of the 2013 Sophomore Chicago Catholic League Champions with a record of 25-1. He was selected to the WJOL Thanksgiving Tournament All-Tournament Team. In school he has achieved Second Honors and maintains a 3.0 GPA. Tyler is weighing his options for college but plans on playing basketball at the next level. Coach Trendel says: “Tyler has really evolved into a tremendous basketball player. His hard work on the court and in the weight room has really paid off. Tyler is one of those shooters that every team must watch out for and game plan for. He is going to have a great college career.”

Jake Rost:
Jake is the son of John and Kerry Rost. He attended Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic School and played travel basketball for the Windy City Magic. He is a 2 year varsity basketball player. He was a part of the 2013 Sophomore Chicago Catholic League Champions with a record of 25-1. Jake also played football for his four years at Providence. As a senior he was named to the Chicago Catholic League All Conference Team and was a team captain. As a student, he has achieved First Honors all four years and is in the National Honor Society. He is also becoming fluent in Arabic. For college his plan is to attend the U.S. Naval Academy. Coach Trendel says: “The first time I saw Jake play, I knew I wanted him on my team. Jake is the type of player anyone would want to go to battle with. Jake is tough as nails and always has his teammates back. Jake is exactly the type of person we want defending our country!”
Nate Vejvoda:
Nate is the son of Greg and Nancy Vejvoda. He attended Homer Jr. High and played travel basketball for the Windy City Magic. He is a 3 year varsity basketball player. Not just a basketball player, Nate did 1 year of track and 4 years of football. In football he was named All Conference and was a team captain. In school he is an advanced placement student, First Honors and a part of the National Honor Society. Nate will attending Division 1 University of Iowa on a football scholarship. Coach Trendel says: “Nate is a tremendous force for us inside. He really alters player’s shots when driving to the basket. Nate is an outstanding athlete and we will be seeing him in the fall on TV on Saturdays real soon making some outstanding plays for the University of Iowa.”
Dominic Monsivais:
Dominic is the son of Ariel and Maria Monsivais. He attended St. Mary Immaculate Parish School. He is a 2 year varsity basketball player. Dominic was a part of the 2013 Sophomore Chicago Catholic League Champions with a record of 25-1. Besides basketball, Dominic has played baseball and was on the cross country team. In school he has been on the Honor Roll every year. Dominic will be attending Bradley University next fall. Coach Trendel says: “Dom is the ultimate team player. Dom will do anything for anyone on this team—he would give them the shirt off his back! Dom never cheats practice. He brings it every day and never has an off day. His effort is so very consistent, which is a tribute to his character.”
