Unparalleled purveyors of a multi-lingual blend of cosmopolitan sounds, Pink Martini deliver a festive holiday concert featuring beloved songs from around the globe. Led by bandleader Thomas Lauderdale and vocalist China Forbes, the Portland, Oregon-based band will feature tracks from their phenomenal 2010 holiday album, Joy to the World, which features chestnuts like “White Christmas” alongside Hebrew prayers, Chinese New Year tunes and a samba-inspired version of “Auld Lang Syne.” Monday, December 2 • 8PM JH
Blind Boys of Alabama Christmas Show Go Tell It on the Mountain
As irresistible as it is contagious, the Blind Boys of Alabama Christmas Show is a roof-raising musical event. The Chieftains
The Chieftains deliver a concert experience filled with grace, humor, exceptional musicianship and the pageantry of visiting dancers and pipe bands. Recognized for bringing traditional Irish music to the world’s attention, the six-time Grammy winners are still led by Paddy Moloney, who formed the band from the ranks of the top Irish musicians back in 1962.
