SETTING THE STAGE

Every stadium needs to maximise revenue opportunities, for which versatility is key. The ability to host different types of events enables operators to optimise attendance. Many performance events, whether music, corporate or civic events, or even graduation ceremonies, require a stage. If the venue owns the stage then hire costs can be minimized and the capex investment will start to show a return. However not all stages are created equal, and therefore there are a number of factors that need to be considered in order to achieve the optimal operational efficiency: A Rolling House Stage provides benefits over a static stage. Most events will involve equipment being set up on the stage – for a concert this would include the musicians’ backline, amplifiers etc., along with any scenery - and flown equipment, suspended from the stadium roof above the stage typically including loudspeaker arrays, lighting, and video screens on trusses. Efficiency is gained when these two areas (on stage and above stage) can be rigged both safely and concurrently. To achieve this, the above-stage rigging requires a clear arena floor at the intended stage location, and so can then be performed at the same time as the on-stage rigging is being carried out at the opposite end of the floor space. Then, the fully-rigged stage can be rolled into place once the above stage rigging has been raised to position. However, this comes with a significant caveat: the stage

must be able to carry the full load whilst being rolled.

Stage loading is defined with two parameters, the UDL (Uniformly Distributed Load) and the maximum Point Load, applied to a single point on the stage, typically defined as acting on a 50mm x 50mm area. Forces are measured in Newtons, whereas weight is measured in Kg. A weight of 1kg exerts a force of 9.81 Newtons, in an environment where the acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 m/s2 (i.e. we are assuming a stadium or arena in a typical land-based location!). A good stage will be able to support 5kN/m2 UDL, including carrying this full load whilst being rolled. A good stage will be able to support a point load of 1.5kN. However, many stages have a significantly reduced capacity whilst rolling, even if they can carry a large load whilst static. Furthermore, some systems on the market require extra supports, which can not be rolled, to be added to achieve the required load capacity – such a technique negates the benefits of rolling the stage as the on-stage and above stage setup can not be completed concurrently. Stadiums considering investment in a rolling stage should be aware of these subtle restrictions, and make sure that they specify a stage that can roll with the full load. Loading is typically measured in kN/m2. The TAIT Staging™ System can carry 5kN/m2 UDL. Even in the busiest stadium the stage will not be in use all of the time, and therefore the storage footprint is important to consider. Do

stage decks, or support structure components stack in a secure and simple manner that can be moved easily. Can carts or storage wagons be stacked to reduce the storage footprint? Sticking with the topic of storage, a convenient feature of some stage systems is having clear access routes underneath, for storage of the production’s flightcases, cable runs, or even for performer access routes. When selecting a stage system check that the understage configuration does not place cross-members and braces in unhelpful positions.

Crowds crave a connection with the performers that they have come to experience, and so very often a more intimate connection is achieved via a portion of the stage jutting out into the audience area, usually with a “runway” connecting the mainstage to the “B stage”. A versatile rolling house stage system will therefore support alternative configurations, going beyond a simple rectangle, into a T shape. There may also be occasions when the stage needs to be integrated with devices such as lifts, toasters or other stage machinery system elements, and so the ability to remove portions of the stage deck without compromising the structutal integrity of the stage is vital.

Putting this into action: a real-world case study

The Melbourne & Olympic Parks precinct is Australia’s home of live events, comprising six world-class venues, including three roofed

arenas – Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena and John Cain Arena, – AAMI Park, a 30,000-seat stadium, Kia Arena, a 5,000-seat tennis venue, and conferences and events space CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park.

The precinct’s venues are truly multi-purpose, together hosting almost 500 events per year, ranging from the nation’s Grand Slam, the Australian Open, to concerts, sports including football, basketball, netball, rugby, boxing, wrestling and gymnastics, speaking events, comedy, gala dinners, trade shows and family events. Many events require a stage, and so Melbourne Olympic & Parks turned to TAIT to provide a reconfigurable Rolling House Stage for its three roofed arenas.

“Partnering up with TAIT is going to be a game changer for us and will make our operation much more efficient, and safer. Other venues around the country are eager to see how much things change for us with this TAIT Staging™ System, and I think it is only a matter of time that they will follow suit, which will be a game changer for the whole

Australian touring industry,” said Glen King, Head of Production Operations at Melbourne & Olympic Parks.

As Glen highlights, the key benefit of a venueowned stage that rolls is operational efficiency: Most events, such as concerts, have rigging above the stage area and also equipment on the stage, both sets of equipment (lighting, loudspeakers, band backline (i.e. guitarists’ amplifiers etc.) sharing the performance area with band risers, set, video & scenery to create the show itself. The efficiency of the loadin process for a concert can be considerably increased if the above-stage rigging is able to be performed at the same time as stage and set construction and on-stage equipment is set up. Although setup requires only minimal crew, the key benefit of the TAIT Staging™ system is that it can be rolled whilst fully loaded, with up to 5kN/m2 UDL, so a band’s full inventory of backline, drum kit/risers, foldback wedges and stage set can be set up in parallel with overhead rigging and then the stage is rolled into place below the lighting

trusses and speaker arrays, saving valuable time and associated labour costs.

“We were delighted to see how quickly the team at Melbourne & Olympic Parks were able to construct their new stage, and to adapt it into different configurations”, said TAIT’s Project Manager, James Pemblington, who visited the arenas to supervise the first setup of the new stages.

The TAIT Staging™ Systems adopted by the Melbourne & Olympic Parks arenas are not limited to rectangular configurations: runways and B-stages are just as straightforward to set up. Meanwhile, the storage footprint of the stage components whilst not in use brings efficiency to behind-the-scenes operations, too.

Stadium of Light | Sunderland, England

STADIUM OF LIGHT

Sunderland, England

Images: Bose, Solotech

Sunderland AFC’s Stadium of Light has long been at the heart of the city’s sporting culture. Opened in 1997, the venue has provided a home for thousands of supporters who come to experience the energy of matchdays. However, as the demands on modern stadiums have evolved, it became evident that the existing PA system needed a revamp. To ensure that fans received a world-class audio experience - and to unlock new commercial opportunities - the club embarked on a transformative upgrade of the venue’s sound system. For more than two decades, the original PA system had served its purpose, but it had begun to show significant signs of degradation. Sound clarity was a recurring issue, with various sections of the stadium suffering from uneven coverage and audibility problems. The ageing system also lacked the power and versatility required for large-scale events beyond football, limiting the stadium’s ability to host concerts, corporate functions, and special events. With the Stadium of Light being one of the iconic sporting venues

in the UK, the need for a state-of-the-art audio solution became a top priority.

Recognising the importance of selecting the right solution, the club undertook a meticulous evaluation process. The key criteria for the new system included delivering exceptional clarity, consistency, and power across all seating areas, ensuring full compliance with EN54 safety regulations, and integrating seamlessly with the venue’s existing Gent fire alarm system.

Sunderland partnered with Solotech, the globally-renowned AV and entertainment technology provider with extensive experience in stadium and arena installations. Solotech was tasked with designing, installing, and commissioning a bespoke solution tailored to the specific requirements of the Stadium of Light.

After extensive research and benchmarking against systems installed at other leading stadiums, the decision was made to proceed with a Bose Professional system.

One of the most significant challenges of the project was the

tight installation schedule. All works had to be completed during the off-season, with a strict deadline before the commencement of the 2024/25 football season. Complicating matters further, the stadium was undergoing additional infrastructure projects at the same time, including the installation of a new undersoil heating system and the resurfacing of the pitch. As a result, careful planning and efficient coordination were essential to ensure that the audio upgrade remained on schedule without disrupting other critical works.

Another major consideration was the structural constraints of the stadium roof, which limited the weight-bearing capacity of the installation points. To achieve the necessary sound pressure levels (SPL) and frequency bandwidth, the placement of the speaker arrays had to be meticulously calculated. The design team worked to ensure that the system would not only provide the required audio coverage but also remain within the structural limitations of the venue.

The final system configuration incorporated 28 line arrays,

composed of Bose Professional ArenaMatch AM10, AM20, and AM40 models, strategically distributed throughout the stadium to achieve optimal coverage. These were complemented by an additional 16 single-unit speakers, ensuring full-range audio performance in areas where supplementary reinforcement was necessary. Powering the system, 38 Bose Professional PSX4804D amplifiers were deployed across two dedicated amplifier rooms, delivering consistent and high-quality output across the entire stadium. In addition to the main PA system, the project also involved the integration of a voice alarm and public address (PAVA) system by Ambient Systems. This secondary system was designed to operate alongside the Bose PA, providing emergency communication capabilities that meet stringent safety regulations. The entire setup is managed via a Q-Sys control platform, which enables precise tuning, real-time monitoring, and remote system adjustments, allowing the stadium’s AV team to tailor the audio experience for different types of events.

The impact of the new audio system was immediately evident during Sunderland’s first home game of the season. Fans inside the stadium soon recognised the vastly improved sound clarity and power. The club’s fan engagement team also leveraged the system to build an electrifying pre-match atmosphere - something that was simply not possible with the previous setup.

The club’s leadership also highlighted the importance of selecting a concert-grade PA system that would allow the Stadium of Light to diversify its event offerings. With many major stadiums now serving as multi-purpose venues, high-quality audio is essential for attracting live concerts, corporate events, and non-sporting gatherings. By upgrading to the Bose Professional system, Sunderland has positioned itself as a premier venue capable of delivering an immersive audio experience for a wide range of events.

The installation not only met but exceeded the club’s expectations, with fans and stakeholders alike praising the dramatic improvement in sound quality. The ability to fine-tune the system via the Q-Sys platform has provided

the stadium’s AV operators with an unprecedented level of control, allowing them to adjust the audio output for different types of events seamlessly.

For Solotech, the success of the project reinforces the importance of collaboration, precision, and technical expertise in delivering high-performance AV solutions for large-scale venues. The seamless integration of Bose Professional’s cutting-edge technology with Sunderland’s existing infrastructure stands as a testament to the potential of modern stadium audio systems to enhance fan engagement, improve safety, and open new revenue opportunities.

As Sunderland AFC looks to the future, the Stadium of Light is now equipped with an audio system that truly matches its status as a world-class venue. This upgrade is more than just a technical enhancement - it is a statement of ambition, ensuring that the Stadium of Light remains at the forefront of stadium innovation and fan experience for years to come.

Digital Projection’s M-Vision 27000 WU, the world’s brightest 1-chip DLP laser projector, delivered projection perfection for Paris Basketball for the team’s first match in the topflight international EuroLeague championship.

The award-winning M-Vision 27000 WU lit up every corner of the 8,000-capacity Adidas Arena for the opening game of Paris Basketball’s debut EuroLeague campaign (against Serbia’s Crvena Zvezda), as well as the team’s first full season in its new home arena, inaugurated in February 2024.

In collaboration with Digital Projection’s distribution partner, ETHA International, Paris-based videomapping specialist Doxa Vision deployed four M-Vision 27000 WU projectors to illuminate the interior of the Adidas Arena, taking full advantage of the projectors’ 27,000 lumens’ output to deliver vivid, vibrant visuals – including projected on-court banners celebrating Paris Basketball’s maiden EuroCup victory – for the sell-out crowd.

An additional two 20,000 projectors were stationed outside, where they brought the new arena’s façade to life, reinforcing the celebratory atmosphere for Paris Basketball fans as they entered the EuroCup champions’ home venue.

In charge of everything from technical design to on-site management were Doxa Vision’s Bruno Michon and Martin Cail, with ETHA tasked with providing the projectors and the Digital Projection team, led by the company’s national sales manager for France, Stephane Bourdon, delivering on-site support.

The four M-Vision 27,000 WU projectors were positioned 20 metres above the Adidas Arena’s court, aligned to ensure seamless visuals across the surface. Content was created by Mikimo Studio and managed through Doxa Vision’s custom videomapping software, with signals transmitted via fibreoptic HDMI cables from a central Mac Studio system.

The evening began with a 3D animation of the raising of a championship banner for Paris Basketball, celebrating the

previous season’s EuroCup title. A pre-match sequence highlighted the team’s new identity, with animations of the Paris Basketball logo transitioning dynamically across LED panels, the central video cube and the court itself, in addition to video of iconic Paris landmarks and highlights from the team’s 2023/24 season. Finally, projection mapping transformed the court into a stage for a 20-minute concert to close the evening on a high.

Digital Projection’s M-Vision 27,000 WU projectors were chosen for their superior brightness, colour reproduction and reliability, according to Michon, co-founder of Doxa Vision. “The Digital Projection’s models stood out not only for their technical power but also for their remarkable colour

accuracy,” he elaborates. “This saved us significant time and ensured a flawless result.”

Although the match was won by Crvena Zvezda, the event was a resounding success, with enthusiastic feedback from fans and widespread media coverage, including in Eurosport and L’Équipe. “The audience was thrilled by the immersive visuals,” says Michon. “Paris Basketball supporters were particularly vocal in their praise, calling for even more events like this one.”

ESTÁDIO DA LUZ

Lisbon, Portugal

Images: Clear-Com, Miguel Mota Sousa

Sport Lisboa e Benfica, one of Portugal’s most prestigious football clubs, has partnered with Clear-Com® to upgrade the communications system at the Estádio da Luz, ensuring seamless coordination across all operational teams within the stadium. The upgrade addresses key communication challenges, including radio coverage issues in critical areas such as the pitch entrance tunnel and bench area, which are enclosed by thick safety glass, as well as providing comprehensive coverage across the entire pitch and fan zone.

To meet these demands, Clear-Com collaborated closely with local Partner Decimagem to support a proof of concept test during a live game. The test utilised Clear-Com’s FreeSpeak® II wireless beltpacks and IP transceivers, which successfully provided the necessary coverage even in the stadium’s most challenging areas.

Estádio da Luz, which opened in 2003 and seats over 65,000 spectators, presented a complex environment with its multiple tiers of seating and a central control room

situated on the third tier. Despite these challenges, only two Clear-Com transceivers were required to deliver full coverage, including in the pitch entrance tunnel where player interviews frequently take place.

Following the successful trial, further discussions led to the implementation of a comprehensive communication system based on Clear-Com’s 32-port Arcadia® Central Station. This system supports four HelixNet® IP-based speaker stations strategically placed in the control room and other key locations. Additionally, a dozen FreeSpeak II beltpacks and headsets were deployed, divided into groups for camera operators, LED display wall support, and the Benfica Experience team.

To extend communications capabilities even further, the Arcadia system was connected to an LQ® Series IP Interface, enabling up to eight users to connect via Clear-Com’s Agent-IC® mobile app. This allows mobile users to maintain communication in areas covered by Benfica’s extensive WiFi 6 network, including the fan zone outside the stadium.

The Agent-IC app also offers coverage in areas without Wi-Fi via cellular networks, ensuring robust and reliable communication during match days.

Benfica’s existing intercom system was also integrated into the new setup using Arcadia’s latest firmware release and IV Direct feature, which allows analogue audio to be transported over IP. This was achieved without the need for additional cabling, as the existing IP network facilitated connectivity between the central control room and various operational positions throughout the stadium.

Mario Correia, Head of Broadcast & AV, praised the new system’s flexibility: “It’s very easy to change the [Arcadia Central Station] system to meet our needs. We were able to configure the system to match our requirements, and the stadium is covered in the areas we need by the beltpacks and the Agent-IC application.”

John Sparrow, EMEA Senior Systems Consultant at ClearCom, added, “Having taken part in the project from the initial concept through to the final installation, commissioning,

and training, I am very pleased that we were able to meet the original design brief from Benfica.

“With the two IPT transceivers mounted 40 meters up in the stadium structure, we were able to do a walk test that proved the entire stadium is easily covered with the FreeSpeak II system. Working with the team at Benfica and Decimagem was a pleasure.”

This partnership between Sport Lisboa e Benfica and ClearCom highlights the commitment to enhancing fan experience and operational efficiency at one of Europe’s leading football venues.

MYKONOS, GREECE | 13-16 MAY 2025

Paris, France

STADE DE FRANCE, VÉLODROME NATIONAL, LA DÉFENSE ARENA U

K-based tech provider SLX was awarded the tender for supplying broadcast lighting and rigging across a range of venues at the Paris Games this past summer and chose Obsidian NETRON data distribution devices as the backbone of its data management strategy.

“We needed a system that was rock solid and could keep us going in case of critical failure,” stated Russell Payne, Managing Director at SLX. “We were looking for something that we could use not only for the Games but something that could go into our business for the long run. Stability was important, but also availability and return on investment.”

While evaluating available signal distribution products, SLX technicians and engineers took some NETRON devices to the SLX facility in Bristol for extensive testing. “We ran them through

Images: SLX

their paces, stressing them with large amounts of data and absolutely hammered them!” he said. “But we couldn’t make them fail. Based on that, we decided to put them into Paris, and they didn’t fail there either. You have an athlete who has trained all their life for this moment and the last thing you want is for the lighting to fail. That’s why we did so much testing.”

SLX has worked on large-scale sporting events in the past, such as the 2022 Commonwealth Games, and knows what it takes to tailor a lighting system to the specific requirements of each sport and venue. In Paris, SLX was responsible for lighting across both internal and external venues, each with its own unique requirements, all of which took meticulous planning.

SLX’s mission was to provide athletes, spectators, and global media with the high-quality lighting required to capture the defining moments of these extraordinary events, alongside managing the comprehensive rigging requirements for lighting, audio, screens, technology and flags. SLX worked across 29 venues in Paris, including some of the most iconic locations of the event from Stade de France to the Aquatics Centre and La Défense Arena.

“We had to meet the sporting federations’ lighting requirements, the broadcaster’s lighting requirements, we had to light for the audience, and we had to light for the athletes, and none of those four requirements get on with each other. For example, where the broadcaster wants the

light for camera, the athlete doesn’t. Every single venue required a complex design, and we were also limited by the architectural design of each building. It’s a complicated process.”

Though complex, the challenge was one that SLX tackled successfully. The project demanded a substantial hardware investment, including NETRON nodes for signal distribution—such as the NS8 network switch, EN12 and EN4 Ethernet to DMX gateways, and the RDM 6XL DMX/RDM splitter. Beyond the Games, the equipment provides SLX with a robust solution for data management in their projects going forward.

“The NETRON gear provides us with a versatile and robust solution for managing complex networked lighting systems,” said Payne. “Their onboard presets and menus make them easy to use and the CLU setup and configuration software was easy to navigate and extremely useful in managing the system. The build quality is also first-rate with Ethercon ports and secure connections.”

Show critical devices that operate behind the scenes, like NETRON, give SLX the confidence to deliver technical yet reliable lighting systems under the scrutiny of a global audience. Summing up the Paris Games experience, Payne concludes, “It was fantastic! How often do you get to deliver the biggest show in the world.”

Climate Pledge Arena

Jones Sign completed the fabrication and installation of the Climate Pledge Arena rooftop signage in a five-week turnaround from contract to installation. There are four signs total that face all four directions on top of the new home of the Seattle Kraken. Climate Pledge Arena main focus was, sustainability, therefore our work had to be made with recyclable materials. The neon look was accomplished using faux neon, which is more energy efficient than true neon. Due to the shape of the roof of the arena, the signage had to be installed using a helicopter. Due to proper planning and engineering, Jones Sign was able to install all four signs with the helicopter in 22 minutes. Jones Sign is privileged to have partnered with Climate Pledge and Oak View Group on this project.

BMO Stadium

Jones Sign partnered with the Los Angeles Football Club and Gensler in the design and build process to assist with the naming rights of the formerly known Banc of California Stadium to the BMO Stadium for the Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles FC and the National Women’s Soccer League’s Angel City FC. The design process included an extensive collaboration for the 30’ rooftop “roundel”. The signage needed to complete this project on time before the 2023

season opener home match. This required our team expedite the fabrication process to an impressive six-week timeline. Installation included coordinating five crews on site simultaneously to enhance efficiency. Large cranes were used inside the stadium to avoid tedious traffic management lane closure outside of the stadium, allowing for parallel work on different locations, reducing overall completion time to two weeks.

Empower Field

When the Denver Broncos, Empower Retirement, and the Denver Municipal Stadium decided to move forward with the re-branding of their stadium, no one knew there was a pandemic on the horizon. Even during a pandemic, Jones Sign’s horsepower was able to complete this $2.9 million worth of work in 12 weeks, all prior to the first event in early July. Our team formulated a plan to isolate an experienced team, and accomplished our goal. There were nine signs and over 13,000 sq. ft. of metal panel work. The project included an 87’w x 45’h primary identification sign on the south end of the stadium where we designed, engineered, fabricated, and installed the substructure for this massive sign. One of the challenges of this project was the programming of Empower’s flag logo. Each of the signs on this project included RGB programmable lighting within the flags to make them appear as they were waving in the wind. Our electronics and lighting specialists programmed these at our facility but had to reprogram them in the field due to spatial considerations. The pixel point system employs multiuniverse individual control of over 4500 pixels to achieve the effect of a waving flag at each elevation.

RIVERSIDE STADIUM

Middlesbrough, England

Images: Electro-Voice

Middlesbrough FC’s Riverside Stadium has been equipped with a new sound system from Electro-Voice and Dynacord. The Riverside first opened as a modern, purpose-built 35,000 capacity all-seater stadium in 1995. Hosting men’s and women’s football matches as well as headline concerts, the stadium required a new sound system that could deliver a pristine audio experience for all fans.

“Our PA system was in need of a full upgrade,” recalls Helena Bowman, Head of Business Operations and Community at Middlesbrough FC. “The quality of the previous system was poor due to its age, and the sound system is an integral part of the match day experience, therefore it needs to be the best quality we can get.” The club called in UK Audio Engineering to design and install a system that would replace the ageing PA. “They were really, really keen to improve the match day experience,” notes Jordan Alderton, director of UK Audio Engineering. “We presented an Electro-Voice and Dynacord solution and gave the board a demo of what we would do. They could see that we were well integrated with the

manufacturer so that gave them a lot of confidence and they trusted the design that we presented.”

With the design approved, the integrator faced a tight timescale to install the solution. “The Riverside hosts concerts throughout the summer, so we couldn’t do the installation in the usual quiet period for football clubs,” says Alderton. “We were able to get the back of house infrastructure done in July, then we needed to build, program and test the racks in our facility in Nottingham before we were able to go in for the final installation during the international break in October. It was an intense two weeks, but we were able to get everything done.”

The pro sound system covering the stadium bowl comprises 68 EVH arrayable horn-loaded loudspeakers, which have been flown in pairs from the stadium roof to cover the stands. These are driven by five IPX10:8 amplifiers and controlled via a pair of MXE5 Matrix Mix Engines. To complete the life safety part of the installation, a Praesensa public address and voice alarm system was also installed. Despite the tight timescale, it was a relatively straightforward installation. However, the support from the Electro-Voice and

Dynacord teams again proved to be outstanding. “We’ve had a lot of experience with Electro-Voice and Dynacord and we have found that the range of products and the support you get from the team is just fantastic,” states Alderton. “When you do hit challenges on these projects, the speed that they come back to you with a new design and solutions is where we want it to be and what you want to be working with.”

Most importantly, the football club is very happy with the result. “We now have a system which provides clear sound across the stadium,” states Bowman. “It also offers enhanced control, allowing us to quickly and easily adjust levels as needed. Additionally, the system can feed individual zones of the stadium with customized paging. Music and announcements delivered through the system are sharp, clear, and rich.

“We are extremely happy with the end results, and the service UK Audio Engineering provided throughout the whole process,” Bowman concludes. “They were professional, accessible and hardworking and the end outcome has provided us with a real improvement in our match day operations and fan experience.”

K-ARRAY

Innovative Audio Solutions for Stadiums and Arenas

At K-array, we are audio innovators, it’s in our DNA. That’s why you’ll find our innovative solutions in large-scale networked AV applications such as stadia, arenas, and other complex environments and the reason we’re trusted by leading sporting venues, such as Viola Park, home of Fiorentina football club. Our products are known for high-quality sound, versatility and radical designs, making them industry gamechangers and a top choice for integrators, engineers and designers. Take our Mugello medium format line arrays for example, a powerful system that’s well-suited for large venues, offering excellent sound clarity and coverage. Mugello arrays provide the flexibility needed to adapt to various environments. Whether it’s a stadium or a concert hall, its modular design is scalable, meaning it can be perfectly tailored to the size and acoustics of each venue. In large spaces, such as concourse areas, there’s no shortage of

acoustic challenges. Our Kayman KY102 EBS overcomes these challenges with design ingenuity. The EBS stands for Electronic Beam Steering, which precisely adapts the audio to the geometry of any space. The process of steering sound electronically allows coverage to be fine-tuned to reduce unwanted reflections and improve intelligibility, even in challenging and irregular-shaped spaces. Another powerful tool that simplifies the planning and execution of complex audio installations is K-FRAMEWORK 3D software. At the design stage, our software provides detailed acoustic modelling, enabling designers to visualise and predict how the audio system will perform within the space. This is especially useful for stadium projects, where understanding sound propagation and coverage is critical. Uniquely, K-FRAMEWORK lets you seamlessly transition from design to configuration and tuning in one software package. Developed for large-scale networked AV projects, our Kommander

amplifier series offers options from 50W to 2,500W per channel. These amplifiers are designed with networking in mind, perfect for expansive venues. We are the first company to adopt Audinate’s ‘Dante Ready’ technology, a feature that allows you to customise the number of Dante channels you need with a software upgrade. You buy the amplifier with no Dante channels and add 2, 4 or 8 as needed. This can lead to substantial cost savings across large projects by eliminating unnecessary channels while allowing for future upgrades.

Kommander includes models with two network ports, which can be assigned in a variety of ways, including for Dante primary and secondary audio or for splitting Dante streaming and control over two separate networks. Further enhancing the versatility of K-array’s solutions, our amplifiers are compatible with major control systems like Q-SYS, AMX, Control4 and Crestron. The open API ensures easy integration with other systems, making any of our amplifiers a highly adaptable solution for any venue.

Another example of our commitment to flexible and efficient solutions is the versatile PRISMA Matrix processing platform. Ideally suited for smaller zones within a large venue, such as a press conference suite, function rooms or hospitality areas, the PRISMA platform integrates local and site-wide audio signals and allows for both local and centralised control. Dante ready, with some models featuring built-in amplifiers, PRISMA offers a comprehensive room solution in a single package.

We are proud of our innovations in beam steering, Dante Ready technology, and integrated software solutions. It’s what makes K-array a world leader in large-scale networked projects.
