SOMNIO SUPERYACHTS

ON DECK Route: Worldwide Maiden Voyage: 2024 Interior Design: Tillberg Design of Sweden, Winch Design, Luttenberger Design Shipyard: Vard www.somniosuperyachts.com

Somnio – billed as the world’s largest and most luxurious superyacht – has released the first renderings of its interiors, which includes apartments by Tillberg Design of Sweden, Winch Design and Luttenberger Design.

Due to launch in 2024, the project is being overseen by co-founder Captain Erik Bredhe and sets a new standard of living at sea, blending private ownership with a sense of community through personalised residences and generous public spaces.

With a build, design and fit-out cost of €500million, the 222m vessel boasts 39 apartments ranging from 182-963m2 – the largest of which will occupy almost the entire top deck. Bespoke features and layouts will depend on the owner’s selection, but may include a kitchen, gym, library, indoor/outdoor dining spaces, distinct dressing areas and a vast living room with 270-degree forward views. Buyers will have the opportunity to work with the interior design firms to develop their own individual scheme, taking in room configuration, furniture, lighting and artwork. The studios will also assist in sourcing elements such as cutlery, towels and bedding to dress the space, and as sustainability is a key focus for Somnio, materials and finishes will be selected to create environmentally responsible interiors with reduced impact.

The hotel-standard public spaces meanwhile include two restaurants with al fresco dining, a 10,000-bottle wine cellar and tasting room, a top deck lounge and library, a casual sports bar, the Connoisseur Club serving fine liquors and cigars, and a café-style marketplace. There will also be a movie theatre, spacious deck area with a large lap pool, a state-of-the-art spa, world class medical and fitness facilities, and an onboard beach club with watersports equipment and boats to facilitate beach landings, excursions, fishing, diving and snorkelling.
