Cruise Ship Interiors Expo Europe 1-2 December 2021

LONDON

Following the success of Cruise Ship Interiors Expo America, the exhibition for the cruise design community is set to land in London for the first time for a much anticipated in-person get-together.

Taking place at ExCel from 1-2 December 2021, the two-day event comprises an exhibition, conference and networking, and provides an opportunity for the cruise lines, designers and shipyards working on major refurbishment and newbuild projects to meet with the entire supply chain. Visitors will be among the first to experience an abundance of new products and services from over 200 exhibitors including Kettal, Ethimo, Frescolori and Indel B, as well as Morbern, Roman and Table Place Chairs.

Running alongside the exhibition, Cruise Conversations Live will explore Europe’s ocean, river and expedition market, with industry leaders discussing key topics such as responsible cabin design, procurement and trend forecasting. Among the speaker lineup are Andy Yuill and Andrew Brown of SMC Design, Callie Tedder-Hares of Volume Creative, Iina Forsblom of Tillberg Design of Sweden and Anne Mari Gullikstad of YSA Design. Representing the cruise lines will be Beatrice Siri of Royal Caribbean and David Sagrista of Mystic Cruises, while Gijs Streppel of Meyer Werft will provide the shipyard perspective.

There will be ample networking opportunities too – including a happy hour on the show floor – with organisers eager to facilitate valuable new relationships within the industry. The event will close with The Cruise Ship Interiors Awards, which celebrates those who have played a pivotal role in keeping the industry going over the past 18 months. This year’s categories recognise individuals, teams and companies who have inspired others, innovated and gone above and beyond. Seatrade Cruise Global 25-28 April 2022

MIAMI

Seatrade Cruise Global has announced it will return in 2022, taking place at Miami Beach Convention Center from 25-28 April.

Having been cancelled in 2020 owing to the pandemic, the recent 2021 reunion – the longawaited 35th anniversary – took a hybrid format; in conjunction with its traditional programme, a virtual conference track gave those unable to travel the opportunity to participate in panel sessions, meetings and networking.

Speaking ahead of the event, Chiara Giorgi, Global Brand and Event Director for Seatrade Cruise commented: “As the global cruising business platform, we’re devoted to serving and supporting the entire industry. Coming together to further connections, innovation and education has never been more vital for cruise community stakeholders.”

The four-day programme focused on The Future of Cruising, with leading cruise lines, ports, destinations and travel service providers weighing in on all aspects of the industry’s critical and continued recovery. The impact of Covid-19 and resumption of operations was high on the agenda, but there was a conscious look ahead too. “We’ve all had to adapt, but it’s really important that we’re here to focus on the future,” said Andrew Williams, President of Informa’s Maritime Group in his opening remarks. “We will come together as one industry to reunite, reignite and plan for the future.”

While the speaker line-up for the 2022 edition is yet to be announced, sustainability and health and safety are likely to remain hot topics, and the popular State of the Global Industry Keynote will of course be back. The conference will run alongside a three-day exhibition; amongst the exhibitors confirmed are shipyards Chantiers de l’Atlantique and Fincantieri, alongside IT and entertainment service providers, and ports and destinations from around the world. Event supporters including CLIA and FCCA will also be in attendance. For further information, visit www.seatradecruiseglobal.com.
