BIO GR APHY & CV Moneo Brock is an international architectural, planning and design firm, of versatile professionals commited to the identification and implementation of sustainable solutions, with great faith in the promise of good design. We have completed projects from large public buildings to domestic interiors and our work has been widely published in international media. This portfolio of Products springs from our love of design, the joy with which we explore form, texture, materiality, light and color. As architects we are confronted daily with design problems to resolve through drawing and modeling, applying rhythm and modulation to our compositions. In the interstices between our work at larger scales we escape to this immediate and gratifying scale, developing pieces as a complement to our architectural ideas. CHROM ODUL AR SHE LVE S
This furniture piece makes maximum use of the intrinsic qualities of its sole material: polycarbonate sheets. We designed it as a dividing partition that could hide messy spaces as well as provide storage. The transparent colors of the material mix in unexpected ways, and we enjoyed the way the piece camouflaged the disorder of our work รกrea. 20mm thick shelves of transparent polycarbonate rest on vibrantly colored folded sheets of the same material. These modules form cavities for storage on both sides, with the colored sheets weaving from fron t to back and enveloping the materials stored or displayed. No tools are required for its assembly. The positioning of the modules can vary, producing countless color combinations. Finally, the modules are designed to nest one inside another when disassembled for easy transportation and storage. Chromoduwall is a simplified version for use against a wall. It can be custom ordered for any length and height.

PLE X IJAZZ S C R E E N
Plexijazz is a optimistic design piece that interacts throughout the day inasmuch as the light it receives also changes. The colors and their juxtaposition changes depending on the position of the viewer. Simulating a curtain, it creates a stage that frames the daily episodes of family life. The Plexijazz screen has a direct, colorful and simple design, with a pure and defined geometry. The piece was conceived spontaneously for our own home, without much development and process, and the result following closely the original idea. This uncommon characteristic – the ease with which the piece was conceived and built – makes it a design that we hold dear.

S OULBOX
Soulbox is chameleonic, both in appearance and functionality, an altar, a vitrine, a display case, a source of light, it is an object with its own personality, its appearance transforming with the light reflected on its surface. Soulbox need not be filled. It can be empty and still fill a room with the color of its materials, reflections and the light it emits. Soulbox is the treasure chest where we save relics, objects for a collection or with a specific emotional value; a place to display intimate pieces. It can also be the vitrine where objects of daily use can be organized: the wine glasses and bottles in the dining room, a selection of books in the office, or cosmetic products in a bathroom. Soulbox has a simple and functional design. The visual effect of the acrylic glass plates of different colors is highlighted by the installation of LED strips in its back, and by the use of iridescent vinyl.

LUC K Y LO OP VALE T
Luckly Loop is a unique valet both in its appearance and its functionality. The reinterpretation of this classic piece of furniture begins with a simple curve, capable of diverse applications. The different elements that form Lucky Loop adopt a simple geometry that serves as a structure without being completely rigid, playing with the viewer’s perception. Its curved design allows the manufacture in very different materials: flourescent methacrylate sheet, which offers a touch of color, or poplar wood plywood for a more classic finish. This object is the first of a series of modern design pieces that respond to different needs: table, towel rack, hanger.

D OR E S SĀ
Doressā, which means “sideboard” in Japanese, is a wooden furniture piece designed to hold dayto-day objects; as it is lightweight and moveable, it can be placed in diverse domestic spaces, and used to divide rooms. The structure of the piece is formed by a series of delicately angled wooden supports that are organized around the perimeter as if they were branches. This organic quality of layering affords glimpses into the interior, facilitating its use. Like the Japanese imaginary, the design connects with the natural by creating an optical effect of overlapping branches, placing objects amidst an interior forest.

CAR PE TS
This line of carpets was born of our love for design, form and color. We have developed this unique collection that combines composition, modulation, rhythm and proportion. We use in our carpets the same constructive language. or other kind of product designs. Constantly atuned by the visual culture that surrounds us, we explore the link between form and function. Patterns and structures are unconsciously behind all of their forms. These carpets are made by request in Nepal under strict quality control and following fair labor practices. Custom sizes and colors are available upon request.
PARQUET The concept behind this carpet is the pattern of a classic wood parquet. Playing with colors and scale we have developed a new floor; a soft, warm and colorful surface on top of the regular, hard and plain one we are used to. Parquet's vivid tones in a variety of palettes complement both neutral spaces and those which have a more defined style.

ALPHABE T
Working on a project where trusses were used extensively to stiffen a building structure, we became interested in the patterns that were emerging as we worked within the constraints of a uniform rectilinear grid. The diagonal elements were being used in three modes: left, right, and absent, and the engineering parameters were generating patterns descriptive of the structure’s performative aspect. The carpet design takes the theme of variation and pattern a step further as the variable of thickness of line comes into play. Without straying from the basic units of orthogonal and diagonal lines in pairs, we saw the possibility of creating an "alphabet" out of these variations, intrigued by the suggestion of an unknown calligraphy, and fascinated that it appears to be a code, capable of provoking the curious to endeavor to decipher its meaning. The deeper meaning carried by this design is that the marks we make are inevitably understood as messages, and that we are representing ourselves and the world in these scribbles.Â

M ILE S
This design is built on the idea of modularity, through which music, art and mathematics are interwoven in life. The name "Miles" captures these concepts for its double reading, as a measure of distance and as the name of a legendary Jazz musician. By dividing the surface using a harmonic scale, we create a rhythm of regular and irregular patterns. The markings speak of rythms built in time and space, while the colors give tone and feeling to the overall composition. Miles is like a musical score, an abstract composition open to interpretation. It provides harmony to a space.

ARTICUL AR E F IR E PL ACE
As architects and designers, geometry has always fascinated us. When the main body of the fireplace and an inclined plane intersect , a second volume is created that opens, folding down to create the horizontal surface the grill. The chimney’s oval mouth is exposed so that the fire is visible from all angles. The shape of the fireplace is compact; it can be closed when the winter season is over, on the one hand staying out of the way while on the other presenting an enigmatic form bereft of signs as to its true function. *Manufactured by DAE www.dae.es

F RONTALIS C OLLE CTION
The Frontalis series suggest a return to nature, to the senses and to the touch. The almost complete absence of straight lines has led to a continuation of curves that capture the movement and flow if water. Frontalis is thought to be a part of nature inserted in the wall. The pleasure of touch stimulates the senses. The Moneo bath is designed with the aim of bringing the habitat closer to our human condition. We began with the idea that the collection is an extrusion of the wall, that there is a continuity between the two. Creating a continuous surface without breaks responds to a desire both for hygiene and fluid movement. The modular design of the Frontalis range allows the parts to maintain a relationship in proportion and height that provides smooth encounters between the different elements. All the pieces included in this collection, and their accesories, are integrated into the wall, fusing with it, supplanting the need for tiles on many occasions.
