7 Most Breathtaking Views in America Oftentimes when people think of experiencing breathtaking views, they think of traveling outside of the United States. You may be one of the unfortunate few who can’t afford to take a sight seeing trip around the world. But not to worry, right here in America, we have our own breathtaking views that you’ve got to see to believe. From architectural features, to mystical canyons, here are 7 of the most breathtaking views in America. Arizona -‐ Red Rock Country Red Rock Country has a long and deep rich history. It was the settlement of the first Native Americans, over 11,000 years ago. This scenery is so cinematic that it has served as backdrops for Hollywood westerns over the last few decades. Perhaps what’s most impressive are the sandstone towers, glow in the dark sculpted buttes, and canyons. Vibrant hues of orange and red catch many visitors’ eyes. It’s an ideal location for hikers and bikers. Some report feeling a palpable energy and having a deep spiritual experience, when coming in contact with the rocks. It’s a haven for spiritualists, New Ager’s, hippies, and artists. New York -‐ Skyline Sometimes the very best views don’t necessarily come from nature. One of the greatest views in the United States comes from the Empire State Building. The Empire State Building is the tallest building in New York. Take the elevator to the top of the building, and you will be blown away by the expanse of the city. Head over to the River Café, and you have yet another opportunity to be blown away by the architectural skyline views. This is also where you can view the Statue of Liberty, another famous landmark. Hawaii -‐ Na Pali Coast The Na Pali Coast is Hawaii’s oldest island. It is a magnificent coastal range that is only accessible by helicopter or a sea tour. This glorious site is surrounded by coral reefs, volcanic peaks, and beaches. If you take a short hike inland, you will be amazed at the dazzling display of color, and the vibrant hues from the tropical flowers, crystal pool, and lush hillsides. People have remarked that it reminds them of an impressionist painting. Pittsburg -‐ Mount Washington This view is particularly interesting because to experience the view, in all of its glory, it’s best seen at night. Explorers will delight in the magic of the city lights. Located atop of Mount Washington, sightseers have the opportunity to experience a panoramic view of the city, including a cluster of landmark skyscrapers, starting from the Allegheny Rivers, to the Golden Triangle. Utah -‐ Thor’s Hammer This is perhaps one of the most breathtaking views in the United States. Thor’s Hammer is a natural feature compromised of layers of rock, which exceeds a 10-‐

story building, located in Bryce Canyon National Park. There are several rock types that make up this remarkable layer, including limestone, mudstones, and siltstones. The spectacular landscape appears to go on for infinity, and seems otherworldly. Alaska -‐ Wonder Lake Wonder Lake is located in Denali National Park. It is a cinematic experience that has a mirror-‐like finish, which reflects Mt. McKinley, the tallest mountain in North America. This lake is a depression, which is filled with water from glacial melting. At every turn, you can view expansive snowy mountain range, or a variety of frontier animals. Arizona -‐ Horseshoe Arizona is filled with so much wonder that its made our list twice. The Horseshoe is meander literally shaped like a horseshoe, located in Page, Arizona. It is one of the most photographed locations on the Colorado River. This show stopping overlook is 4,200 above sea level, and surrounded by the beautiful emerald green Colorado River. Even the walk to this site is impressive, as it’s comprised of sandstone rocks that date back to the Jurassic period.
