#1 man

repeller

Blog: www.manrepeller.com Blogger: Leandra Medine Why I like it: What I love about Man Repeller is Leandra Medine’s hilarious take on the trends women love yet men seem to hate. Her writing style is funny and sometimes self-deprecating (in a good way). It’s sharp, sarcastic yet refreshingly honest. In all of her posts, her personality really shines through. It’s personal and engaging and the as the reader, I am interested in what Leandra has to say. Visually, I really love the simplicity of her blog. It’s clean and professional, which I think should be a standard for most highfashion blogs. The layout itself is a typical two-column layout with the posts on the left and a sidebar for ads and promotional content on the right. The posts are organized into categories which makes the blog easy to navigate. I really like that all of Leandra’s posts have at least two pictures and my favorite graphic content are the ones where she has compiled her findings or suggestions into a white background collage. I think Leandra’s eye all things unusual and quirky and her ability to write intriging things about them is really what makes her readers come back for more. Personally, I don’t think she has a single boring post! Leandra has an undeniably outstanding blogging voice and great sense of fashion. It’s really no wonder she’s such an influential blogger in the fashion industry today.

#2 the

budget babe

Blog: www.thebudgetbabe.com Blogger: Dianna Baros Why I like it: I think the Budget Babe is a great blog for those who don’t have the means to buy luxury branded things. The Budget Babe is one of my inspirations because my product is also a fashion blog for style-conscious readers who are looking to shop without stretching their wallets. The Budget Babe is one of the best blogs for people to find cheaper shopping alternatives - like getting a $800 pair of shoes from Charlotte Olympia for only $20 at Forever 21. I think the “Looks for Less” section is really informative and though the Budget Babe lacks the personality and jest of Man Repeller, it’s certainly has a niche for finding cheap, fashionable clothing. I’m not a fan of the layout of the Budget Babe. I think it’s a little small and the sidebars are too cramped. I’m not loving all the pink links which are a little off-putting for me. Aesthetics aside, people love Budget Babe for it’s great style posts and great alternatives to expensive looks. I really like the “Deals + Sales,” “Spot the Real” and “Off the Rack” category posts because they are a lot of fun to just read through endlessly. I will definitely refer back to the Budget Babe because it’s one of the best budget fashion blogs around.

#3 hot

chocolate & mint

Blog: www.dianarikasari.blogspot.com Blogger: Diana Rikasari Why I like it: Diana Rikasari is an Indonesian-based fashion blogger and possibly the most famous one in Indonesia. I really like her blog because it’s like reading a diary. I really love all her outfit posts and the fact that she’s not really a high-end blogger but has a high-end fashion style. She’s certainly very quirky and many of her outfits are vintage-inspired. Though I find her layout to be a little dull, it just goes to show that blogs don’t have to look super professional. Content is most important. All the photos on this blog are really nice and it’s really fun to browse through them all. I think Diana’s take on fashion and her cool photographs are what makes her blog successful. Her posts makes us interested about her life and keeps us coming back to her blog. Diana’s blog is also a great source of inspiration because she’s an Indonesian blogger and I can get ideas and information from her blog.
