1. Lack of time doesn't mean lack of style (nor does it justify lack of style) 2. Get comfortable with online and real-time transactional commerce 3. For run-and-go function and fashion, your standard bottoms rotation should include dark grey leggings, dark rinse straight leg denim, a maxi skirt, and knit track pants 4. Your makeup "kit" need only have lipstick/gloss, mascara, and a two-tone blush. Everything else is extra 5. Invest in a fabulous zip front cardigan/jacket that has embellishments like ruching 6. Your key to move from season to season is in layering....thin layers 7. Tieks are your secret weapon to "run like the wind" and "look like a diva" 8. Every rough day is made doable with a pair of cool sunnies - aviators with the unbreakable frames cost a little more but, yep, last much longer even when little Johnny sits on them 9. You don't have time to do "simple" and add interest here and there. Go fabulous or go home with things like earrings - they make even a pulled back hair do chic 10. Federal agents have "go" bags...and so should you 11. T-shirts with Lycra are a wardrobe basic that you'll use everyday 12. A fitted, black blazer preferably with fun/contrast buttons and double-breasted will see more use than you'll want to admit

13. Stretch is the secret weapon that forgives even before hubby does 14. Flats are fine. Just make them pointy toed so they can go from school play to evening meet up 15. Clothing with built-in shapewear does double duty in half the time 16. A multi-colored scarf serves many purposes including covering up little stains left by little people 17. A knee-length trench coat in a bright color - fabulous outerwear covers up a multitude of sins 18. A clutch in a dark/metallic color - it fits in your oversized tote and can come out for meetings or midday drinks with friends 19. A tote with multiple compartments goes without saying because it's never cool to dig around in a big bag looking for business cards and the like 20. A layering vest is part of your style playbook because it goes from spring to summer, and right into fall 21. It's a guarantee you'll always feel better when you can peek in your bag and find colorful do-dads so choose two or three cute bags....and sometimes they perform double duty as a purse in a pinch 22. You're old enough to move beyond "cute" stuff to fabulous items so think hard about what your purchases communicate to the onlooker! 23. Prints are a silent but deadly force behind great style so embrace them whether it's plaids, animal, florals, abstract or ethnic. One artfully fitted shirt can work with your pencil skirt for a meeting, as a spring jacket with your denim, or under a cashmere sweater with black pants for girls’ night out. 24. Quality cashmere is king and you should know the difference. Plan to add a cashmere tee to your rotation for a pop of luxe that can go year-round. 25. A great wardrobe is based on those workhorse pieces that do multiple duty, and cover multiple seasons - those items are worth the investment 26. Your tops should hit you at the hipbone which is the perfect length to cover part of your rear but also create the illusion of a longer, lower half 27. Monochromatic outfits are a surefire way to create a leaner looking silhouette 28. Want a bit of edginess? Add leather...somewhere and you're instantly "cool" 29.What's more All-American than denim? Your wardrobe needs/require at least four pieces - that should be a fitted, long-sleeve denim shirt, denim jacket (with stretch), and two pairs of jeans Email me at barnettm@blueprintforstyle.com for any two item recommendations and within 72 hours, I’ll reply back!
