Botanic Gardens The Dell - This delightful "secret garden" is possibly one of the most romantic spots in Gibraltar. This intimate, sub-tropical garden was designed by Guiseppe Codali, the head gardener and horticulturist of the Alameda during the end of the 19th Century, a Genoese who was brought to Gibraltar specifically to work in the gardens. His Italian influence can be seen in the terracing and general layout of this area. The Dell, a small deep natural hollow, in the heart of the Alameda Botanic Gardens has a bridge across the centre covered by a combination of purple bougainvillea, Lantana and Golden Chalice Vine.

Places of Worship St Mary The Crowned The Cathedral of Saint Mary the Crowned is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Gibraltar. It is the primary centre of Catholic worship in the Diocese of Gibraltar.
Synagogues The lavish Flemish Synagogue was built at the turn of the nineteenth century on Line Wall Road, due to the request of some congregants for a return to more formal, Dutch customs.
The Holy Trinity The cathedral is particularly notable for its Moorish revival architecture, particularly in its use of horseshoe arches. This is an architectural style inspired by Moorish architecture, appropriate given the period of Moorish control in Gibraltar's history.
