On Trend

Denim You will never go wrong throwing on a denim jumpsuit, skirt, or dress. They are going to be one of the hottest items for Spring 2015.

By: Jacquie Wallaert

“Take me back to the 70”s!” That must have been what nearly every designer was thinking for his or her Spring 2015 collections. The designs were very bold and definitely 70’s inspired. To stay on trend this spring, do not be afraid to be groovy. One of the strongest trends already being seen is Denim. In almost every shape and form, skirts, jumpsuits, and dresses are the most popular. Embroidery and beading on jean pants are also sure to make a bold statement. Abstract florals are back and more powerful than ever.

Flower Power

will be in full effect this spring.

In fact, many designers are saying florals are here for good. We cannot forget about our beloved Sneakers. Yes, skirts and sneakers are appropriate once again. Say good-bye to heels for the season and let your flats, particularly your sneakers, do the talking. Spice up any outfit with your best pair of flashy, bright tennis shoes and you will be good to go. The color pallet is bold and flirty. Strawberry ice, tangerine, marsala, and toasted almond, to name a few. Spring is going to be a fun and feminine one this year. So girls, do not be afraid to rock your youthfulness and think 70’s!

Bright Spring From dazzling eye shadows to colorful lipsticks. Spring is in full swing. By Monika Franeczek

Makeup

for this Spring is very much bronze and glossy. Did we mention glossy? Pucker up because the latest trends in lipstick and lipgloss will leave your lips wanting more. Pastel shine and vibrant pinks are the talk of the town this season. We suggest the Yves Saint Laurent Beaute Volupte Tint, where moisture meets color. For your eyes we recommend subtle tones, highlighted with pastels. Black liquid eyeliner seems to be more flicked than usual this season, so do not be afraid to wing it! For the perfect smoky eye, we found you the best palette from Lancome- My French Palette.

Enhancing your with golden shimmer will add sex appeal to your daily routine this Spring. Products like Dior Bronze Self- Tanner Glow will recreate a radiant, sunkissed look in less than one hour. Be the best version of yourself this Spring season and hold on tight, Summer is right around the corner!

SPARKLE SPOTLIGHT By: Iviera McSwine

Ever wake up in the morning and just not feel like yourself? I mean seriously, everyone has a bad day every now and then. Today you will learn a few relaxing techniques that will keep your confidence rolling and your day going so that you will continue to be the true

SPARKLE that you are.

Soothing Music- When choosing what you want to listen to, be sure to keep in mind that words can affect the mood that you are in. If you wake up grumpy, we would recommend listening to music with a soft tone to relax your nerves. If you wake up sad, choose songs that make you smile or laugh. Listen to the song that makes you feel beautiful while dressing yourself in the morning time. Confidence is a mind game!

Meditate- Meditation does not have to be on the ground with crossed legs, and it does not have to be yoga if you do not have the time. Meditation can simply be brewing a cup of hot chamomile tea and going over your thoughts in silence or with Music. Chamomile is a relaxing organic tea, so it is sure to soothe your mood and keep you on track, or get you back on track.

Use Your Imagination- Before getting out of bed, take the scrapbook and pencil from your dresser and begin doodling. Use your imagination to create images that reflect what peace and happiness mean to you. Sometimes you cannot reach serenity until you truly know what it means to you .

Be Good to Yourself- Your mood may not be negative because you have an exam or an interview. It may be because you just simply did not get enough rest or you do not know what to wear for the day. Give yourself 15 minutes to brighten up your day. Pick out something that you really want to do for yourself, whether it’s polishing your nails a new color, eating a passion fruit, or stopping by Starbucks to get our favorite latte. There’s nothing wrong with making it a habit to do something extra for yourself.

Dressing for an Interview by: Kristen Karla

Interviewing for a job can be stressful, the interview outfit should be the last of your worries. You wake up early, shower and get ready, have a light breakfast with coffee and prepare for your interview. You walk to your closet and stop and stare, you suddenly realize you have nothing to wear. This is not the time to stress, just calm down and remember these tips on how to dress. – Be

Yourself

– Dress – Do not

for the job you are interviewing for

Over Do It

The simplest but most important tip to remember is to be yourself. If you wear a suit or a blouse that you are not comfortable in, it is going to come through during your interview. Wear something that you are comfortable in and that represents you and your personal style, just keep it appropriate for the job you are interviewing for. When you are wearing something that you are comfortable in and you like, it gives you confidence which will relate in your attitude and come forward in your interview.

Know The Company Make sure that you research the company beforehand. Familiarize yourself with the culture and formality of dress. When you are interviewing for a job at a bank or in corporate sales, it is more appropriate to wear a suit but if you are interviewing for a job in marketing or advertising, a pencil skirt and blouse will be better suited.

Tone it Down Wearing bold patterns and bright colors is a fun way to mix up your everyday wardrobe, but is not suggested for and interview. An alternative would be a chunky statement necklace or a colorful heel, which will represent your personal style while remaining tasteful. Another point to remember is to not overdo the makeup. Wearing a more natural look is not distracting and looks polished and put together. You want your interviewer to be able to see you and focus on what you are saying rather than what you are wearing or the amount of makeup you have on. If you remember these tips there will be no reason to stress about your interview outfit! You will be calmer, confident and feel more yourself so you can concentrate on the interview rather than worrying about whether you look appropriate.

Ways to Organize a Stylish Home Office By: Jackie Olmos

An office that reflects the design and comfort of the rest of your home is a place you will want to burn the midnight oil. Drawing inspiration, whether it is from art, home interiors, magazines or blogs. I create my own interpretation and then visualize. Finally, I have to take the visual in my head and make it a reality. That’s the trickiest part, but also the most fulfilling. Everything has to have its place whether it is my magazines, purses, the pencils on my desk or the lipsticks in my bag. I have found that the 10 simple tips to stay organized and for creating a charming, practical work space. 1. Location, location, location- You will likely spend many hours in your home office, so do not stiff yourself on space into a windowless area. Also consider traffic flow and your ability to withstand distractions. 2. Do not sacrifice form of function - Consider your workflow and what items you need at your fingertips before investing in furniture, and then look for pieces that are both beautiful and functional. Home office furniture should complement other rooms in your home. A contemporary home office can feature artistic pieces or modern metal furniture. 3. Invest in a great chair - a beautiful, ergonomically-correct, comfortable seat is worth every dime. 4. Paint the walls a color (s) you love- Forget "office beige" you need a color that brings out your creativity and inspires you. For some people, that is a bright, cheery color like orange or lime green. Others need a calming shade like botanical green. 5. Give yourself a view - Position the desk where you can stare at something more interesting than a blank wall (even if you do love the color). 6. Choose homey furniture - Unless you are going for a contemporary look, choose extras that enhance the comfy feeling of your home office, like a pretty mug for a pencil holder, trendy notepads and sticky notes, and a decorative waste basket. Wrap your bulletin board in a gorgeous fabric. Hang inspirational prints on the walls. 7. Organize vertically and horizontally 8. Tame the cord jungle – There is not much you can do to beautify the computer, printer, and phone, but you can hide unsightly cords. Start by making sure your equipment is as close to outlets and easy to access if you need to unplug. Encase cords on the desk in a pretty fabric cord cover. 9. Add plenty of light 10. Inspire yourself - A special photo on your desk — that motivates you to create and/or get the work done so you can get out of there. A print of Paris can channel your inner muse.

How to: Military Chic Olive green, camo print, and cargo pants are this season’s must-try pieces. From slouchy khaki jumpsuits to paratrooper ball gowns at Ralph Lauren, the spring runways were full of military looks with a feminine touch. Camo has come a long way and can combine your everyday wear with some soldier details. Go for a two-tone blazer that gives you that tomboy look, but is still simple and chic. Or go for pencil skirt with the traditional camouflage top. Easily pair this trend with staples you already own such as the striped sailor tee or a solid oxford shirt. How about pairing an olive green trench and your favorite cashmere pullover or sweatshirt? Pairing it with classic staples will keep it modern and easy to incorporate to your wardrobe.
