CELEBRATING HEARING AWARENESS MONTH – WITH AUDIKA!
MARCH is Hearing Awareness
Month, a timely reminder of the many benefits of maintaining good hearing, for life.
Hearing Awareness Month is an annual campaign to promote ear and hearing care worldwide. This month we also celebrate World Hearing Day on 3 March. With a 2023 theme of ‘Ear and hearing care for all’, this global initiative from the World Health Organisation provides a reminder to get your hearing checked – wherever you are around the world.
This year’s theme of ‘Ear and hearing care for all’ highlights the importance of integrating hearing care within primary care, and ensuring it’s made an essential component of your regular health care checkups.
However, according to research1 commissioned by Audika, Kiwis are not leading the pack when it comes to looking after their ears. 53 per cent of New Zealanders believe they have some degree of hearing loss – yet only one in four intend to book a hearing test.
Regular health checks are so important – it’s a truth we are all aware of. But all those medical appointments can be time consuming. So why prioritise hearing health?
We lent our ear to 24,000 individuals globally to find out how hearing can impact your quality of life2. We found that people with hearing aids more often reporting having a good quality of life than people with hearing loss and no hearing aids. 1 in 4 say there is less stress on their relationships.
Getting a hearing health check is a step towards a healthier, happier life. Should you receive a hearing loss diagnosis, you’ll be able to discuss the option of a 2-week free trial of a hearing device with your clinician. That means you will have the time to experience the difference it can make to your life, in your own home, surrounded by loved ones.
Eligibility for and exact hearing aid model selected for the trial is dependent on the hearing and lifestyle needs determined at the discretion of our qualified clinicians.
In recognition of World Hearing Day, Audika is encouraging all New
Zealanders to ‘love their ears’ and book a free3 hearing check. Are you ready to take the next step towards better hearing health?
