NUCLEUS™ User-Configurable Network Control Panel Unifying the Operation of Key Functions in Your Workflow Content delivery in today’s fast-paced digital environment places heavy demands on network control panels — they must be tailored to individual needs and support interactions with a minimum number of keystrokes. NUCLEUS™, a fully user-configurable 2RU network control panel, and NUCLEUS-DM, a deskmount network control panel, unify and streamline the operation of routers, as well as processing products and remote monitoring products. By means of an intuitive panel wizard, each network control panel can be tailored to meet your specific, exacting demands. NUCLEUS enables the control of many devices using a logical menu/navigation structure, so you can quickly execute a series of complex device control changes with only a few simple button presses. Harris also offers the NUCLEUS-TRAX router follow option, which integrates router source selection and upstream processing product control. NUCLEUS-TRAX simplifies workflow in master control and quality control stations, speeds up access to the controls of devices upstream from the router, and significantly reduces the possibility of mistakes — enabling you to save both time and money.
Features • Fully customizable user interface for practical, real-time router control (single- and multi-bus operation, X/Y operation, category/index selection, direct source selection and salvo buttons), as well as multiviewer control • Storing of up to eight router destination(s), router source or custom router salvo per routing device • NUCLEUS-TRAX option to automatically track router crosspoint selection • Support for SNMP for controlling third-party products • Support for up to five password-protected configurations
RCP-GPI Contact Closure Interfaces Flexible Interface Mechanisms for Harris Routers The RCP-GPI32p and RCP-GPI64p provide input and output contact closure interfaces for use with Harris routers. The GPI inputs can be used to select router crosspoints. A source will be selected whenever the corresponding GPI input pair is momentarily shorted. Harris offers the RCP-GPI32p, a remote 32-input contact closure interface; the RCP-GPI64p, a remote 64-input contact closure interface; and the RCP-GPIEX expander module, which converts GPI32p to GPI64p.

Protocol Support Edge Router Protocol Translator Seamless Harris/Third-Party Router Control Integration Today, many broadcast facility system designs require interoperability among router systems form different manufacturers. Harris understands that you might also favor one manufacturer’s control system over another and are simply looking to expand current routing capabilities. The Edge router protocol translator is a 1RU device that acts as a bridge between Harris X/Y router protocols and other third-party router control/monitoring protocols. Edge can support third-party TCP/IP protocols, as well as serial protocols. A bidirectional solution, Edge can control third-party routers or be controlled by third-party control panels — making it ideally suited to any system design. Edge also acts as an SNMP agent for Harris routing systems. Any Harris router can be mapped to an SNMP-based monitoring and control system.
