Nordic Skiing in Bozeman *Some highlights… absolutely not a complete list!

HIGHLAND GLEN NATURE PRESERVE

This is a moderate, 1- to 5-mile Nordic trail located on Highland Boulevard. The trail is groomed in the winter by Bridger Ski Foundation for cross-country skiing, and the rolling hills are populated by fox, elk, deer and sandhill cranes. Trails wind through cow pastures, into gullies and across cultivated fields. Dogs are required to be on a leash because there is extensive wildlife and cattle on the property.

GALLATIN REGIONAL PARK

This easy 1- to 2-mile Nordic trail is located at the Gallatin Regional Park, with access from Oak Avenue and another from the parking lot next to the Fire Station off of Davis Street. Dogs are allowed off-leash in the dog park only. Gallatin Regional Park | Photo: City of Bozeman/Heritage Jack-Fence

SOURDOUGH CANYON TRAIL

Sourdough Canyon Trail is a moderate Nordic trail, covering 1 to 6 miles, located off Nash Road. The trail is groomed in the winter by Bridger Ski Foundation. Sourdough Creek is the source of 40% of Bozeman’s drinking water. Skiers—especially those who bring dogs along on their adventures—must tread carefully on the heavily-used trail. No leash is required. Sourdough Canyon Ski Trails | Photo: GVLT
