CELEBRATE RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE. Oh, 2020. It seems as though you will never stop throwing curveballs. While our Montana Party Rentals Team feels grateful we have emerged through the tumutluous months healthy and safe, we know the reality is different for so many. We have watched as countless brides and families have had to pivot with every new week, adjust their expectations and face a new reality. The beautiful thing we have discovered through this abrupt change in pace is our client’s ability to shift their focus - from the what to the who. No matter where or what you are celebrating, who is by your side has never been so important. Whether you are celebrating a marriage or a friendship, we hope you enjoy the moment. We asked a few of our favorite bloggers and entrepreneurs to show us how they are still celebrating in their everyday life. At home. With those they love most. Because if there is a year that has ever needed a good celebration it’s 2020.

MEANINGFUL MOMENTS Kelsey, from a balancing peach, inspired us to throw the rules out the window. Spread pillows and poufs on the ground. Ditch the dining table. And let small spaces help focus on what matters, versus what looks best.

MPR: Tell us a bit about yourself and how you started blogging! Kelsey: Well, unfortunately my story is a bit cliche for millenials anymore. But after a broken heart and feeling lost after college since my 5 year plan was in shreds (all by my own hand I might add), I started a balancing peach. It let me be creative at the time I was still in engineering and had me crying over html code versus a boy. Four years later and I left my engineering career. I moved to Bozeman and opted for a marketing career. (Yep - I’m the marketing manager for MPR + Paper and Grace!) MPR: What do you love about entertaining? K: Connecting! If it was up to me our television would have been out of the living room a long time ago. I think there is nothing better than gathering the people you love, sitting down surrounded by good food and simply catching up. WWW.MONTANAPARTYRENTALS.COM

MPR: What’s your number one tip for entertaining in a small space? K: Invest in multifuntional pieces. I used to only care about how furnishings looked. But our small apartment made me realize form is best when it’s equal with function. We simply don’t have enough room to fit furniture for 6+ people in each room, so our home is filled with poufs that double as chairs and coffee tables. Also neutral china is essentially timeless. Small spaces truly make you more creative and focus on what you actually value! MPR: One thing you can always find on your table when you host? K: Florals! This time of year our yard is surrounded by blooming apple trees, lilacs and wild roses. So it’s easy for me to make the table feel seasonal with what our house is surrounded by. MPR: Favorite MPR rental? K: The Avery Rust sofa! She is but a dream. Velvet and rust colored?? Yes please! (Plus I have a strong feeling she would look wonderful surrounded by all my plants.)

We might be stuck at home with no where to go, but that doesn’t mean we still can’t get dressed up. Or that’s what Hillary Folkford believes! Her family’s Formal Fridays are a tradition we can’t wait to start ourselves. Someone pass the champagne, please!

MPR: Tell us a bit about yourself and how you started all of your businesses, as well as, your blog! Hillary Folkvord: I’ve always been that girl with a green smoothie in one hand and a glass of Champagne in the other. I’ve always craved adventure while enjoying great food and wine along the way. I’ve sought balance between hitting the road, wellness and indulgence. I started my blog LADY H, as a creative outlet to inspire and share realistic approaches to travel, wellness, and motherhood. In my career life, my family owns and operates the Sacajawea Hotel in Three Forks. Recently, we opened our second boutique hotel project in Bozeman, The RSVP Motel which includes my passion project, The Farmer’s Daughters Café I was born & raised in Three Forks on my family farm. Our family is a three generation farming family in Montana. During my time with our first hotel, I was infatuated with marketing and how I could grow business, so I decided to make an online brand for myself and call it Lady H. MPR: What do you love about entertaining? HF: The union of food, community, and creative collaborations will always lead to my truest happy place. As I grow my own brand, and as I raise my children, I think a lot about what brings me the most joy. I always return to creating beauty, uniting community, honoring nature, and sharing my process. These are the pillars that fill me with purpose and pride in doing what I WWW.MONTANAPARTYRENTALS.COM

Garden Party Our Montana winters are notoriously long, so when JaTanna from Ranch Wives Beef Co. invited us out to her garden we couldn’t say no. Her family run ranch is nestled next to the Tobacco Root Mountains and had us dreaming of wide open spaces.

MPR: Tell us a bit about yourself and how you started RWBC? JaTanna Williams: My name is JaTanna Williams and I am the wife of a hardworking rancher in Southwest Montana and the mama of three littles that keep me well on my toes. Our ranch is truly a family business with Tyler’s grandpa alongside him and his dad, down to our little ranchers –the 7th generation to be raised on Williams Angus. Along with a lifetime friend who is also a Ranch Wife, we started Ranch Wives Beef Co. a way for us to share the beef our families had been enjoying for generations. MPR: What do you love about entertaining? JW: I love making people feel special. I want them to feel included and thought of when planning the night. Sometimes that means choosing someone’s favorite meal, or making sure you have that extra ice you know they like in their drink. Letting someone know you thought of them is a sure way to letting them know you care. MPR: What’s your number one tip for entertaining? JW: Meal plan and simultaneously plan for what you will plate your dish in and serving utensils: not only will this save you last minute trips but also that scramble at the end of preparing a meal to find the allusive salad tongs. Living in a rural area you learn to plan and shop ahead. Being 20 minutes from the closest grocer, running out “quick” isn’t an option. Anytime I am having family over I will plan the meal –make sure I have everything I need for that dish and then plan what I will serve it in (even if that is just the vessel I prepared it in). Secondly, go with the flow. Your guest will remember how the event made them feel and not any missteps in the meal or preparation.

MPR: One thing you can always find on your table when you host? JW: Beef. Ha! I am not sure the last meal I prepared for a crowd that didn’t include our family staple. We are very proud of the quality of meat we raise and I love sharing that with people that come into our home as well as the customers that trust us with their family’s meal. MPR: Your favorite celebration tradition? JW: The Fourth of July is somewhat of a crazy day around the ranch, but it has turned into one of my favorite days of the year. Inevitably my husband will be farming hay at any stage of the process which means we bring the party to him. Our house is decked out in Red, White and Blue. Blueberry and Cherry turnovers are ready for tractor side deliveries and Hot Dogs and pasta salad are usually as fancy as we get. I have transformed a stock tank into a mini pool for the kids and they will spend half the day running in and out of the house. At the end of the day we might not be awake for fireworks but we sure have made some great memories. MPR: A MPR rental you wish you could keep? Hands down the Italian lights!!! We were lucky enough that the guys had to come get them the following morning so we left them on for a bit that night and oh goodness they are magical. If you are on the fence about them, jump to the side with the lights!!! They were quick to install and added the extra ambiance that made the night so special.

When we started dreaming of this Lookbook we naturally dreamed of summer tablescapes filled with good food and beautiful florals. Sue Stark, from The Wild Blume, was kind enough to design all of the florals for our tablescapes and she created bouquets we couldn’t even dream of! Though we think everyone needs to not only see the face behind the florals, but get to know the wonderful human being as well!
MPR: While we are lucky enough to know about your story, we would love if you shared how you started your business. Sue Stark: I’ve always had a love of flowers and adventure. One day, I realized that I wanted a life where I created my own way. And flowers were the way I wanted to make that happen. So, 5 years ago, I took the leap. Starting small with pop ups around holidays to creating for my first wedding. From there, it’s been a journey into entrepreneurship and floral design. A sort of, “the rest is history” while we continue to grow and evolve kind of story. MPR: What are you most proud of in regards to your business? SS: Building a thriving business from an idea into an adaptable, design focused, and conscientious pursuit while being driven to continually raise the bar is something that makes me feel proud.

MPR: What do you love most about being an entrepreneur in Bozeman? SS: Being a part of this community in a deeper way is why I love owning a business here; from the people we get to deliver to, the relationships with other boss babes and business owners, to the weddings that we get to be a part of‌ it is all about the community connection. Plus having the flexibility to create my own schedule that allows me to maximize getting outside is an excellent perk. MPR: We of course love your style so we would love to know, what is your favorite MPR rental? SS: That feels like an easy one to me - farm tables. They are a beautiful blank canvas that elevates any space and dining experience. By using a beautiful table you can go in so many design directions that allow for the event to be next level. It’s all in the details and a beautiful table is a solid anchor to any design.
