Dear Friends of the Monterey Museum of Art

As an art museum firmly rooted in our mission to “cultivate curiosity,” we are always advancing ways to be a space of wonder and discovery. In reflecting on the 2020-2021 year, we are proud to have many accomplishments to celebrate. For much of the year, we continued operating under pandemic conditions offering virtual art experiences that provided much needed inspiration and connection for our community. We were able to significantly build on our capacity to use digital channels to deliver our mission, reimagine our offerings, and increase engagement with a rich lineup of virtual offerings.

We were thrilled to welcome visitors back to the Museum on May 13, 2021 just in time for the summer exhibition series. Our successful “Re-start the Arts” campaign helped rebuild our organizational capacity and provided space to reflect on the power of art to “re-start” in the face of challenges and about museums as places for thinking, curiosity, discovery, and inspiration. We are honored to be able to do our work, and we celebrate each of you for your support of the Museum and for all you do to contribute towards uplifting and inspiring our community through art.
