Hello Everyone, Another fiscal year is upon us, bringing with it a brand new Annual Fund! To start things off, we’d first like to thank you for your generous gift last year. Please accept the included UM Annual Fund flash drive as a token of our appreciation. The theme for this year’s campaign is “I am UM,” and we believe that this applies perfectly to our roles as faculty and staff here at Montevallo. How could the university that we lovingly dedicate so much of our time, money and hearts to not feel like a part of us? As faculty and staff we recognize the importance of supporting the educational mission of the University of Montevallo. The faculty/staff portion of the Annual Fund is a vital part of that support and is important to the institution’s overall development program, playing a crucial role in encouraging contributions from alumni, corporations, foundations and other friends of the university. In fact, many foundations will not review a request for funding until they see that faculty and staff strongly support the institution financially. It’s never easy to convince people to part with their hard-earned dollars, especially in tough financial times like these. But it’s also true that after several years of relative prosperity in the state of Alabama, the University of Montevallo needs our support now more than ever. As we have set a goal to increase faculty/staff participation from 40% to 50%, we do hope that you will consider giving this year, even if it’s as little as $10 or $20. Every gift is appreciated and will go towards making this university a better place to study and to work. Making a difference here at Montevallo is as simple as filling out the enclosed faculty/staff form. Something new this year is the option to have your pledge to the Annual Fund deducted year ’round on an automatically recurring basis, eliminating the need to make a new pledge every year. You can also access the payroll deduction form online at http://www.montevallo.edu/alumni/facstaffgiftform.shtm. Please be aware that this year the Office of University Advancement and Alumni Affairs will be extending its fiscal year by three months to align with the university’s fiscal year. So, instead of June 30th being the end of the fiscal year, it will now be ending September 30th.
