AWAKE TO EFFECTIVE AND FERVENT PRAYERS Prayer is a way of life, a constant attitude of the heart. David said in Psalm 55 vs 17, “Evening and Morning and Noon, will I pray and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.” Prayer involves adoration, confession, thanksgiving and supplication. Jesus taught us to pray by example as well as His words. Prayer is a necessity for the spiritual well being of the Christian. It changes people and things and is the key that unlocks all the resources of God’s blessings and promises. Luke 18:1 - “And ye spake a parable unto them to this end that men ought always to pray and not to faint.” Ephesians 6:18 - “Praying always with all prayers and supplication in the spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 - “If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways: then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and will heal their land.” Mark 11:24 - “Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them. Our main theme for the year 2009 is “AWAKE TO EFFECTIVE AND FERVENT PRAYERS” - James 5:16.
