Texas The Texas Division, United Daughters of Houston VA Now Weekly The Confederacy Honor Two Members Vaccinating ALL Gas Prices

(April 5, 2021) - Texas gas prices have fallen 1.5 cents per g al lo n i n th e p a s t w ee k , averaging $2.61/g today, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 13,114 stations in Texas. Gas prices in Texas are 12.2 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 92.0 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Texas is priced at $2.27/g today while the most expensive is $3.49/g, a difference of $1.22/g. The lowest price in the state today is $2.27/g while the highest is $3.49/g, a difference of $1.22/g. The national average price of gasoline has fallen 0.4 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.86/g today. The national average is up 9.9 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 95.5 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. Neighboring areas and their current gas prices: Midland Odessa- $2.85/g, down 1.3 cents per gallon from last week's $2.87/g. San Antonio- $2.44/g, down 5.1 cents per gallon from last week's $2.49/g. Austin- $2.51/g, down 2.9 cents per gallon from last week's $2.54/g. "Last week was a mixed bag for consumers at the pump as gas prices in half of states rose, while the other half saw declines, with March closing like a lamb after starting out like a lion," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy. "Oil prices have shown signs of strength in the last few trading sessions, as OPEC agreed to raise oil production starting in May by a very modest 350,000 barrels per day. Overall, it's a small increase in output as global demand continues to show strength in light of Covidrelated improvements. U.S. gasoline demand rose for the sixth straight week as consumers hit the road for Easter, and with demand growth likely to remain robust, we may see a second attempt at a run at a national average of $3 per gallon in the months ahead. While the last few weeks have seen gas prices hold mostly steady, it's not likely to last forever, especially as Americans increasingly get outside as warmer temperatures return." GasBuddy is the authoritative voice for gas prices and the only source for station-level data spanning nearly two decades. Unlike AAA's once daily survey covering credit card transactions at 100,000 stations and the Lundberg Survey, updated once every two weeks based on 7,000 gas stations, GasBuddy's survey updates 288 times every day from the most diverse list of sources covering nearly 150,000 stations nationwide, the most comprehensive and up-to-date in the country. On May 15, 1896 there was a group of ladies in Victoria, Texas that formed an o rg a n i z a t i o n t h a t i s known as, The Texas Division, United Daughters of the Confederacy. The ladies that started the Texas Division were either, the wife, mother or daughter of a Confederate veteran. As the years passed, other ladies, once they learned about the UDC, would join a local chapter and they were known as "real" daughters. There are presently 6 "real" daughters living that hold that status. If you’re like me and want to help turtles crossing roads, here are a few helpful hints: * Safety first. Always be aware of other vehicles. Pull off the road and turn on your hazard flashers. * If there’s no traffic, it’s best to let the turtle cross on its own.

* Don’t put the turtle in your car and relocate it. Eastern box turtles, for example, only travel within about a 2-mile radius throughout their lives. They have a homing instinct and move about within their home territory. Removing them from their home will cause undo stress and shorten their lives.

* Always move the turtle in the same direction it was going, as far off the road as you can place it. * Be gentle. Grasp the turtle’s shell edge at about the mid-point of the body. If it’s a snapping turtle, grasp the shell at the back

unsalted butter • 8 cloves garlic (peeled and thinly sliced) • 1/8 teaspoon turmeric (optional) • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (or vegetarian oyster sauce) • 1 tablespoon soy sauce • 1-2 teaspoons brown sugar (depending on your taste) • 1 teaspoon sesame oil • ½ bunch whole scallions (chopped) • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (optional) Instructions 1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the noodles/pasta according to package instructions. If using fresh noodles, you may simply need to blanch them. (Reserve some of the pasta cooking water, as you may need it in the sauce later.) 2. Meanwhile, heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat and add the garlic. Cook for 5 minutes, until lightly caramelized, and stir in the turmeric (if using), oyster sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Stir

for 1 minute and add the scallions. 3. After 30 seconds, to let the scallions wilt, toss in the cooked pasta and parmesan cheese. If the sauce is too thick, add a few tablespoons of the noodle cooking water to loosen them up. Serve! I hesitated to include the Parmesan cheese because there are plenty of recipes that leave it out. It totally depends on your preferences and what you are serving these with. Some ideas include a side to your crawfish boil, topped with some sauteed shrimp or other shellfish or simply with grilled veggies. They can totally change any simple meat leftovers into a whole new dish. A rotisserie chicken could be used to add meat as well. These noodles are authentic to Chinese dishes like chow mein and have a higher egg content. If you can’t find them, you can use a thin spaghetti or buy those Yakisoba noodles from near the cup o’ soup selections and discard the

seasoning packets. There is always Amazon to consider if you want the genuine article and can’t find it locally although a lot of the recipes I saw opted for the Italian thin noodles like vermicelli. Unlike the plain noodles that are made of flour and water, egg noodles have a springier texture when you chew them. It is the protein in the eggs that contribute to the springy texture. Moreover, egg noodles are good for stir fries as they don’t get mushy easily. Only the Italians rival the Chinese as a culture most devoted to noodles. Here are the most common noodles in Chinese cuisine: • Cellophane Noodles: Also called bean threads, slippery noodles, or even bean vermicelli, cellophane noodles are made from mung bean starch. Before using, soak them in hot (not boiling) water. Cellophane noodles work well in soups and stirfries, absorbing the flavor of the foods they are cooked with. When deepfried they puff up and become quite crispy.

• E g g F l o u r Noodles: Fresh or dried, you'll usually know these noodles by their yellow color. Made with eggs, wheat flour, and water, they come in a number of widths and shapes, from the thinner vermicelli to flat thicker noodles (instant Ramen is a type of egg noodle). Used in soups and stir-fries, they need to be boiled before using. • Rice Noodles: Made with rice flour and water, rice noodles come in many types, from thin vermicelli to thick flat noodles. The term “rice sticks” can refer both to the thinner noodles as well as medium-sized and thicker flat noodles. Rice noodles should be soaked in hot water for fifteen to twenty minutes before using. If using wheat noodles there is the option of hunting out whole wheat noodles to raise the fiber content. Amazon might be the best option for this choice since they are hard to find.

Plant A Pollinator Garden To Supply Immediate Food In Response To Freeze Setback Pollinators are in need of help as freeze-damaged plants recover from Winter Storm Uri APRIL 1, 2021 Written by Laura Muntean, 979-8031287, laura.muntean@agn et.tamu.ed Pollinators serve a great purpose in helping pollinate plants and vegetables alike during many months of the year. Although wildflowers returned post-freeze, and many plants are beginning to show life again, most flowering was set back several weeks meaning f o o d s o u r c e s

for pollinators are not available. Planting a few already-flowering plants or fast-growing seeds in your pollinator garden will help them get through while other plants recover. Michael Arnold, Ph.D., director of The Gardens at T e x a s A & M University and professor of landscape horticulture for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, walks us through what we can do immediately to help pollinators and what steps

we can take to set them up for long-term success and year-round support. Pollinators include butterflies and bees, but also birds, bats, moths and small animals who obtain nectar and pollen from flowers, trees and woody shrubs. P o l l i n a t o r- f r i e n d l y plants that will immediately help the pollinators Arnold suggested gardeners plant alreadyflowering annuals or very

fast-growing perennials that tend to bloom in the first year to provide immediate relief for pollinators. This will help them get through the early spring as plants recover from the freeze. “Sweet alyssum and pot marigolds will do well for this cooler weather and grow into most of the spring,” he said. “Borage, if you like herbs, is fantastic for bees.” A few other plants to consider are catnip, a great choice for bees and not just for cats, and traditional spring plants like larkspur and Mexican hat, which can be a perennial but also may bloom fairly quickly from seed. “It is the year of the sunflower, and they are a good one to keep in mind because they are very fast growing, and they bloom early,” Arnold said. “So, you could make an impact in just a few weeks in the garden with them.” If you are looking for something dual purpose, basil is a great herb to consider. Any bee balms can be a good option and are sold as perennials or in wildflower mixes. Salvias and sages will also crossover and pick up some of the butterfly and lepidoptera pollinators. Greg’s blue mist will most

likely bloom this spring but will also return even better in years to come. “Lepidoptera are often attracted to composite flowers like those in the aster family,” he said, “But you could also add some really quick-growing plants like cosmos and the calendula that would be available early in the season for them.” Plants for an immediate pollinator garden: * Aster * Basil * Bee balm * Borage * Bush morning glory * Catnip * Cosmos * Flame acanthus * Greg’s blue mist * Larkspur * Mexican hat * Pot marigold * Sage * Salvia * Sunflowers * Sweet alyssum * Zinnias P o l l i n a t o r- f r i e n d l y plants to help pollinators year round Arnold said this pollinator rescue following Winter Storm Uri could be a good starting point for homeowners to think about providing garden spaces that support pollinators during all of the months for years to come. The key to a great long-

term pollinator garden is having plants that will provide a food source yearround. So, taking the time to plan out the periods of bloom per plant to make sure you have each month covered will insure you have your pollinators well cared for, Arnold explained. “I may even make a spreadsheet and make my columns with the month of year and annotate these plants according to when they bloom to ensure I have things covering all the months needed for adequate pollinator support,” he said. As you begin construction of your longterm pollinator garden, begin with the backbone of plants – woody plants. Red maples are a great bee pollinator for early spring and late winter, and some yucca relatives are pollinator attractants as well. Yuccas planted now would provide food in coming years, and represent hardier, longterm additions to any pollinator garden. “These will have some off-time blooms like the red maple to provide that early start. Or I may provide something like the flame acanthus, native

Columnist Dennis Prager Speaks Out: “CHRISTANITY AT WAR” Walden Happenings By Doc Fennessy The opinions expressed in this editorial do not necessarily reflect those of MCN.

FOLKS, .” JudeoChristian values are essentially another term for biblical values. Judaism and Christianity are both based on the Old Testament—its GOD, its Ten Commandments, its admonition to love one's neighbor as oneself, to love GOD, to lead a holy life, etc. –[PRAGER]. The article for review is timely because we are writing it before Easter Sunday but can only find space for the next week. The article is an interesting observation and as for information and the timely social comment at this time by an outstanding investigative reporter Dennis Prager. Dennis Prager is a columnist for The National Heritage Foundation The Daily Signal Newspaper. Dennis is a nationally syndicated radio host and creator of Prager. Institute. The article for review this week is by Dennis P r a g e r T i t l e d “ C H R I S TA N I T Y AT WAR”. The article was published on March 30th , and all the words that follow are Dennis Prager’s unabridged words through out the article. Author Dennis Prager starts out this article by saying, “Cons ervatives of ten speak of Judeo-Christian values and how the current civil war in the United States and the rest of the West is essentially a battle between those values and the left, which rejects Judeo-Christian values. They are right. But they rarely explain what JudeoChristian values are. Yet, without an explanation,

honeysuckle vines, crossvines or trumpet creepers,” he said. “Things like the coral vine and Mexican flame vine will provide longer seasons. Pick the woody materials that will provide food in the times of sparseness or a long season of bloom.” Coral vine is a woody tropical vine often used as either an herbaceous perennial in Texas or annual further north and will mature a bit later into summer. They typically grow on a garden fence, a porch side or large trellis. Other shrubs to consider would be kidney wood, bee bush and almond verbena, which will bloom for about six months out of the year. Another good shrub option, glossy abelia, produces high volumes of trumpet-shaped flowers and blooms over a large portion of the growing season. If roses are something you wish to have, you can use those too, but the oldfashioned single roses will provide the most use due to flower structure for the pollinators themselves. For a mid- to late-season bloom, butterfly bush would be a good option. Plants for lasting pollinator gardens: * Almond verbena * Bush morning glory * Butterfly bush * Coral vine * Cross vine * Glossy abelia * Honey Suckle * Kidney wood * Mexican flame vine

mentioning JudeoChristian values is useless. So, let me do that now. First, a word about the term. Some Jews and Christians find the term confusing, if not objectionable, since Judaism and Christianity have different theologies. But no one speaks of Judeo-Christian theology, only of JudeoChristian values. Judeo-Christian values are essentially another term for biblical values. Judaism and Christianity are both based on the Old Testament—its God, its Ten commandments, its admonition to love one’s neighbor as oneself, to love God, to lead a holy life, etc. Christians also believe in the New Testament, but only an opponent of Christianity would argue that the New Testament negates the values of the Old. Here they are: {1.} Objective moral standards come from God. As I have written and spoken about in a Prager video and elsewhere, if there is no God who declares murder wrong, murder can be subjectively wrong but not objectively wrong. So, while there can certainly be nonbelievers who hold murder, stealing, and other actions wrong, without God, those are opinions, not moral facts. Without the God of the Bible, there are no moral facts. {2.} God judges our behavior, and we are therefore accountable to God for our behavior. Outside of a religious worldview, there is no higher being to whom we are morally accountable. {3.} Just as morality derives from God, so do rights. All men “are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,” declares the Declaration of Independ-

ence. {4.} The human being is uniquely precious. While the Bible repeatedly forbids cruel behavior to animals (cutting or tearing off the limb of a living animal to eat it as a means of preserving the rest of the animal, not allowing an animal a day of rest, not allowing an animal to eat while working in the field), only human beings are created in God’s image. {5.} The world is based on a divine order, meaning divinely ordained distinctions. Among these divine distinctions are: God and man, man and woman, human and animal, good and evil, and nature and God. {6.} Human beings are not basically good. Therefore, the most important moral endeavor is making good people. Religious Jews and Christians understand that the greatest battle in life is with one’s nature. For the opponents of JudeoChristian values, the greatest moral battle is not with one’s nature; it is with s o c i e t y ( s p e c i f i c a l l y, American society). {7.} Precisely because we are not basically good, we must not trust our hearts to lead us to proper behavior. The road to hell is paved with good hearts. Feelings make us human, but they cannot direct our lives. This alone divides the Bible-based from those on the left. {8.} All human beings are created in God’s image. Therefore, race is of no s i g n i f i c a n c e . We a l l emanate from Adam and Eve, whose race is never mentioned. That many religious people held racist views only testifies to the almost infinite ability of people to distort what is good. {9.} Fear God, not man. Fear of God is a foundation of morality. In the Book of Exodus,

* Old-fashioned single roses * Red maple * Trumpet creeper * Yucca Add plant diversity to your pollinator garden Arnold suggests keeping pollinators in mind when choosing flowers and not picking varieties that are only appealing to the eye. Flower structure plays a large part in what benefits a pollinator. Zinnias are a good example. While most people gravitate toward the doubleflowering zinnia filled with showy ray flowers, pollinators prefer the oldfashioned single or semidouble zinnias with a prominent ray of disk f l o w e r s i n t h e c e n t e r, because those often have more pollen and nectar associated with them. Having an assortment of composite flowers, flowers with both ray and disk petals, like sunflowers have the dark center disk petals with yellow ray petals surrounding it, as well as trumpet shaped flowers provides some versatility and becomes more appealing to a wider audience of i n s e c t s a s w e l l as hummingbirds. The flame acanthus p r o v i d e s a t u b u l a r, o r trumpet-shaped flower, that is enticing to both butterflies and hummingbirds. It is a bit of a woody shrub and will usually bloom within the first year. The bush morning glory also provides good tubular shaped flowers and may return in mild winters. “And once flame acanthus begins to bloom in the spring, it will pretty

much bloom through the whole summer for you,” he said. “It doesn’t have a massive number of blooms, but it has a steady production of blooms, which is important for our pollinators.” Many flowering vegetables need pollination and also provide food for pollinators. Growing things like peppers or strawberries that appeal to the pollinators is great. “Don’t pull up all of your cabbage and kale because once it bolts and flowers, many of those flowers will be attractive to a variety of pollinators,” he said. So, if you have already planted a few things that may be coming to an end, don’t pull them up as they look finished or have bolted. Leave them to offer another source of food as they go to flower. Create a safe space for all type of pollinators Arnold said long-term pollinator gardens should provide food for all pollinator life cycles and also sheltering plants and structures. “So, as we think about pollinators, we have to think about food for them in their adult phases, but also in the larval stages if they have them,” he said. “So, it isn’t just about the flowers as adults but also the host plants to feed the developing larvae as well. Milkweeds and passion vines are good examples of larval host plants for butterflies.” Consider placing a water source. Many insects get moisture from the plants they consume, but some will access supplemental water

Dennis Prager is a nationally recognized journalist and talk show host who writes for the The National Heritage Foundation’s Daily Signal Newspaper. Egyptian midwives were ordered by the Pharaoh to kill all newborn Hebrew boys. They disobeyed the divine king of Egypt. Why? Because “the midwives feared God.” In America today, more people fear the print, electronic, and social media than fear God. {10.} Human beings have free will. In the secular world, there is no free will because all human behavior is attributed to genes and environment. Only a religious worldview, which posits the existence of a divine soul—something independent of genes and environment—allows for free will. {11.} Liberty. America was founded on the belief that God wants us to be free. On the Liberty Bell is inscribed just one thing (aside from the name of the company that manufactured the bell). It is sources. Also, leave a bit of open ground, as some are ground-dwelling. “If we have some open spots of soil that they can use to make nests, those are good things to think about,” he said. “So, we bring all of those concepts together.” There are even plans available for pollinator hotels, from extremely extensive hotels to build or something as small as a mailbox. These will include things like wood that can be bored into, or sections of bamboo where pollinators may crawl in and build cocoons or have their young. Remember, keep diverse areas, some bare-mulched

a verse from the Bible: “Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants thereof.” The current assaults o n p e r s o n a l l i berty—unprecedented in A m e r i c a n h i story—emanate from those who reject the Bible as their moral guide (including more than a few Jews and Christians who have joined the assault, having been indoctrinated with anti-religious views in high school and college). When JudeoChristian principles are abandoned, evil eventually ensues. One doesn’t have to be a believer to acknowledge this. Many secular conservatives recognize that the end of religion in the West leads to moral chaos—which is exactly what we are witnessing today and exactly what we witnessed in Europe last

century. When Christianity died in Europe, we got communism, fascism, and Nazism. What will we get in America if Christianity and Judeo-Christian values die? The Daily Signal publishes a variety of perspectives. Nothing written here is to be construed as representing the views of or the opinions of the National Heritage Foundation. You’ve been a tremendous help and friend to us in advocating for and preserving freedom. As a committed conservative, you know that conservative principles like individual freedom, limited government, and free enterprise g u a r a n t e e A m e r i c a ’s position of strength. T h e Te x a s S e n a t e unanimously passed Senate Bill 3 this week. This bill would overhaul the state's electricity market and would require all power generators, transmission lines, natural gas facilities, and pipelines to make upgrades for extreme weather events. The bill tasks the PUC and the Railroad Commission to conduct on-site inspections to verify compliance. Senate Bill 3 would also ban indexed retail electric plans, like those offered by Griddy. Those customers saw soaring energy prices during Winter Storm Uri due to a spike in wholesale electricity pricing. Another component of the bill would create a statewide emergency alert system run by the Texas Department of Emergency Management that would be used in the event of future blackouts. It also directs TDEM to classify winter storms similarly to how hurricanes are categorized. The bill would also f o r m a l i z e t h e Te x a s Energy Reliability Council, which coordinates regulators, generators, and other industry partners to ensure the state's gas distribution for electricity needs are met. The bill now heads over to 3 . S e n a t e p a s s e s the Texas House.

BRADY BRIEFING: The Biden Border Crisis is Real THE WOODLANDS, TX - The Biden Border Crisis is real, and it’s only going to get worse. This weekend, I joined my Texas Republican colleagues on a trip to the southern border. In a blatant move to avoid transparency, President Biden won’t let the media near any migrant detention facilities. But I was able to meet with border patrol agents, the Coast Guard, members of the DEA, local law enforcement and government officials and see the crisis for myself. Simply put, our borders are overwhelmed. I visited a facility in Donna, Texas that is meant to house 250 people. Right now, it’s holding 5,700. I saw children huddled together in staggering numbers without masks or proper distancing, and spoke with border patrol agents who are

overwhelmed and unable to properly do their jobs. And an unsecure border doesn’t just mean a surge of migrants, but a surge of human and drug trafficking as well. I met with DEA agents who spoke about the huge influx of drugs coming across the border. Last Thursday, the DEA confiscated over 8 million doses of fentanyl that were smuggled in from Mexico, and cartels raked in over $14 million a day in February. This is all a direct result o f P r e s i d e n t B i d e n ’s actions. On day one, he halted border wall construction, revoked the Trump administration’s national emergency declaration, ended President Trump’s “remain in Mexico policy”, and returned to the failed Obama-era policy of “catch and release”. Migrants who have broken our nation’s

laws are being released into our communities – without receiving a Covid test or treatment – in the middle of a pandemic. Each one of these decisions has directly incentivized illegal Office Of The to Governor, 3/15/21 immigrants attempt to enter the U.S. Already this year, there has been a fivefold increase in unaccompanied minors, and the numbers of migrants apprehended has tripled. And yet, President Biden refuses to acknowledge this crisis that is entirely of his own making. Instead of enforcing the rule of law and closing ports of entry, we’ve seen an increase of migrants released without court dates, Covid-19 tests, or referrals to ICE. Not to mention that last week, DHS agreed to pay almost $90 million to house illegal immigrants in hotel rooms – financed with your

taxpayer dollars. The bottom line is, if you’re not from a border state, you just don’t understand. It’s easy for Biden and the liberal coastal elites to ignore this because it’s not happening in their backyard. But it’s happening in ours. And the truth of the matter is, it’s my constituents who will pay the price for an unsecure border. Because of our proximity to the border, the Houston area has unfortunately become the largest sex trafficking region in the nation. And it’s not just sex trafficking, but human t r a ff i c k i n g a n d d r u g trafficking as well. So, President Biden, I’m calling on you to step up and take ownership of the crisis that you’ve created. Step up and take immediate action to get it under control. If you don’t, Texas will continue to pay the price.

AG Paxton: Illegal Immigration Costs Texas Taxpayers Over $850 Million Each Year AUSTIN –?As the border crisis caused by President Biden’s policies surges illegal immigration and escalates criminal activity, Attorney General Ken Paxton stands committed to upholding the law and protecting Texans. In his January lawsuit that halted the Biden administration’s unlawful 100-day freeze on deportations, Attorney General Paxton uncovered hundreds of millions of dollars that Texas taxpayers involuntarily spent on illegal aliens every year:

* Texans pay between $579 million and $717 million each year for public hospital districts to provide uncompensated care for illegal aliens. * Texans paid $152 m i l l i o n t o house illegal criminal aliens for just one year. * Texans pay between $62 million and $90 m i l l i o n t o include illegal aliens in the state Emergency Medicaid program. * Texans paid more than $1 million for The Family Vi o l e n c e P r o g r a m t o

provide services to illegal aliens for one year. * Texans pay between $30 million and $38 million per year on perinatal coverage for illegal aliens through the Children’s Health Insurance Program. * Texans pay between $31 million and $63 million to educate unaccompanied alien children each year. “Texans are hardworking and generous people, but the cost of illegal immigration is an unconscionable burden on the taxpayers of our great state. If we use the

minimum estimated costs for services Texas provides to unlawfully present and undocumented aliens, taxpayers are shelling out an estimated $855 million every year,” said Attorney General Paxton. “Texas will always welcome those who legally immigrate, but we cannot continue forcing taxpayers to foot the bill for individuals who skirt the law and skip the line. I will continue to fight for justice, safety, and prosperity for all Texans.”

God Is Inviting Us To Journey With Him Into The Nations Spreading the Word

By Gail J. Box Gailbox@consolidated.net

As we look back in our Bibles at the many incidents which led up to our Lord’s death, we now know why He had to die on the cross, which was the worst way of death at that time. What the Romans didn’t know was that God and Jesus had this already planned. The Roman soldiers thought they had done away with Jesus, but they were very wrong. When Jesus had died and

uttered His last words to the Father, this happened: “It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth hour, because the sun was obscured; and the veil of the temple was torn in two. Luke 23: 44 – 45. There were many others who spoke with and observed Jesus walking and talking with them a few days after His death. Then, at the right time and place, Jesus turned to His disciples and He said to them: “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the

You are witnesses of these things…And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into Heaven. And they, after worshiping Him, returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple praising God. Luke 24: 46, 47,48, 50, 51, 52, and 53. We find also, in Mark, that Jesus’ last

words are an encouragement to tell His story to everyone. His disciples came up to worship Him, and these were more of His last words to them: “ …they (the eleven disciples) will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.” Mark 16: 18. Jesus gave His disciples direction and instructions to follow after He was gone up into heaven to be with the Father, once more. Him would always be “about the Lord’s business” to tell everyone who Jesus was, is, and evermore will be. And so shall everyone who shares the life of Christ and desires to become a Christian. Our walk is simple, but the outcome is heavenly and full of beauty and love….forever. Needless to say, we serve a good and perfect God who loves each one of us. Jesus has told us He is building our

home – well, He was a carpenter on earth, right? And that there will be no sorrow or crying any longer. And yes, we will have church in heaven. Here is what He says: “….I write so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.” I Timothy 3: 15.
