San Antonio- $4.32/g, down 17.5 cents per gallon from last week's $4.49/g. Austin- $4.40/g, down 15.3 cents per gallon from last week's $4.55/g. “As expected, and for the third straight week, average gasoline prices have fallen to their lowest level in over a month. The price of wholesale gasoline has plummeted, providing price relief as millions of Americans hit the road for the holiday weekend," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "While we may see prices decline into this week, the drop could fade soon if oil prices reverse, especially with strong demand over the holiday. For the time being, Americans are spending nearly $100 million per day less on gasoline than when prices peaked a few weeks ago, and that's well-needed relief at a time when gas prices remain near records." With tomato season in full swing right now there is an abundance of cherry and grape tomatoes available. If you need a new recipe idea for all of those freshly grown tomatoes, look no further – these easy blistered tomatoes recipe is the BEST way to use them up! I love summer tomatoes but haven’t always enjoyed them cooked. Until I discovered blistered tomatoes. They are delicious and versatile. If you have ever bought a container of cherry tomatoes and they started looking tired (e.g., shriveled) that is the time to use this technique. Once done, they can be refrigerated and used to garnish a variety of meals as well as salads and pastas. You can make blistered tomatoes using cherry or grape tomatoes. I love using heirloom cherry tomatoes for color variety if you can find them. They are either sautéed in a skillet or roasted in the oven. Also, did you know cooking tomatoes improves their nutritional value. Winning! That’s right. Tomatoes contain the powerful antioxidant lycopene, which has been linked to health benefits ranging from heart health to protection against

When the Rebel Belles and their guests arrived at the home of the Chuck and Andrea Gossett, Flags greeted the arrivals from every corner of the Gossetts home, and lining the entrance and walkway. Flags from every branch of the Confederacy as well as the United States Flag were flying to honor the event of the day. Once inside the dignified Hosts greeted all at the door, and everyone was immediately awestruck at this amazing world they entered. Host Chuck Gossett gathered everyone in his foyer to explain what would be seen in each room, and that he has collected little that is not verified as an authentic original artifact of that period. His collection included every historic war

Blistered Tomatoes sunburns and certain types of cancers. Studies have found that we’re able to absorb more lycopene from a cooked tomato than a raw tomato. As an added plus, tomatoes that are cooked with olive oil have an even higher nutritional absorption rate. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s get to the details and learn how to make blistered tomatoes! Ingredients needed for blistered tomatoes: One of the best parts about this recipe is that it does not require very many ingredients. However, the quality of the few ingredients you do need will largely impact the finishing taste and flavor. * Tomatoes – Cherry or grape tomatoes will yield the best results. * Olive Oil – I recommend using a higher quality olive oil to really elevate this recipe. * Garlic – Optional, but highly recommend. We love fresh garlic sautéed with the tomatoes! * Salt and Pepper – A good sea salt and crushed black pepper really bring out the flavor! * Extras – There are a variety of herbs (basil, Italian seasoning, rosemary, oregano, thyme) that pair well with sautéed tomatoes. We also love serving these tomatoes with balsamic glaze. So good! Ingredients needed for blistered tomatoes: One of the best parts period to honor our history. Even an original photo of Confederate Spy Belle Boyd, the RJOA Chapter’s heroine was there! The Docent tour included his entire home, patio, garage, and up building that housed even MORE! Every inch of walls, ceilings, and floor space was highly organized and professionally done by Mr Gossett, which included engraved plaques of descriptions on every item displayed. Mr Gossett has been massing his private collection for over 25 years, and he is still in the treasure hunt of searching.

The Gossetts provided refreshments for this large group, and favors of a large laminated Photo of Robert E Lee, with a gray ribbon for hanging. Some Rebel Joan Of Arc Members had been there before and still can’t soak it all in. What an amazing world to live in! Grape tomatoes also aren’t quite as sweet as cherry tomatoes. However, you can use grape tomatoes instead of cherry tomatoes in this recipe and get delicious results. How to make blistered tomatoes: The process could not be simpler. There are only a few steps you need to follow to get perfectly blistered cherry or grape tomatoes. In a skillet: 1. In 1917, In WWI, 116,000 men and women died fighting the tyranny of the Axis Powers,… led by Germany and Kaiser Wilhelm the II. Again,… Americans were willing to sacrifice their lives for Freedom, fighting under great men like General Black Jack Pershing. Germany under an evil dictator, named Adolf H i t l e r. G e n e r a l ’s I k e Eisenhour , Douglas Mac Author, George Patton, and more,… led in this fight to protect our Freedom. In the Korean War, Viet Nam War, Persian Gulf War, Afghanistan and Iraq, many thousands more mighty Soldiers sacrificed and died, fighting for Freedom. There is a great saying by an unknown author that goes like this….”PITY THE NATION THAT HAS NO HEROES,…. BUT SHAME ON THE NATION THAT DOES NOT REMEMBER IT’S HEROES!!!!!!!!”. So this is why I collect the autographs and memorabilia of the Heroic Men and Women that sacrificed so much for Freedom of this Great Nation…..to keep their memories alive, and to pass them on to generations to come. Were these men perfect??? Of course not. Only our Lord Jesus Christ was perfect. But these were men of great Honor and Integrity, and are the foundation of our Nation. Hopefully, we have many Heroes in our future. Chuck Gossett

Entergy Texas Files Proposal To Ensure A Bright Future For Southeast Texas THE WOODLANDS – Entergy Texas, Inc. filed a rate proposal with the Public Utility Commission of Texas today. The proposal outlines investments the company has made and will continue to make to improve service to customers and increase grid reliability and resiliency while maintaining affordable rates. “We are committed to providing reliable, affordable and sustainable power to our customers and communities,” said Eliecer “Eli” Viamontes, president and CEO of Entergy Texas. “As the demand for electricity continues to g r o w, w e ’ r e m a k i n g investments now to ensure a bright future for Southeast Texas.” Since 2018, Entergy Texas has invested over $2.3 billion in capital additions to modernize its infrastructure and improve reliability to customers. This includes the construction of the state-ofthe-art Montgomery County Power Station, which achieved commercial operation ahead of schedule

in January 2021 and provides 993 megawatts of clean, affordable and efficient electricity to over 184,000 homes. The plant supplied essential generation to Southeast Texas during Winter Storm Uri. A d d i t i o n a l l y, t h e c o m p a n y ’s p r o p o s a l includes the following investments and customer offerings: * Supporting growth with added generation. In addition to the Montgomery County Power Station, the company acquired the Hardin County Peaking Facility in 2020, adding 151 megawatts of peaking and reserve capacity to the company’s energy mix. These facilities increase reliability and fuel savings for customers and ensure the company has the generation necessary to meet customer needs. * Investing in grid resiliency and reliability. Since 2018, Entergy Texas has invested over $1.7 billion to expand and upgrade the company’s transmission and distribu-

tion systems. These investments helped improve reliability to customers and support a growing region. * Providing a sustainable future. As part of the company’s commitment to helping its customers and communities meet their sustainability goals, Entergy Texas proposes two new voluntary customer programs that, respectively, offer access to utility-scale renewable resources in the company’s generation fleet and promote the adoption of electric-powered infrastructure, such as electric vehicle charging stations and Shore Power, in the company’s service territory. The proposal filed by Entergy Texas includes a 9.48% increase for a residential customer utilizing 1,000 kWh per month. The company maintains residential rates below the national average, which would remain reasonable even with the requested increase. The Public Utility Commission of Texas will review the company’s proposal.

In addition to the investments made to date, Entergy Texas plans to invest over $2.5 billion by the end of 2024 to harden its infrastructure and increase the reliability of service to customers. Last year, Entergy Texas filed a request for approval of the Orange County Advanced Power Station, a 1,215megawatt, dual-fuel combined cycle power facility that will use a combination of natural gas and hydrogen. The addition of this facility will provide a new source of reliable, lowcost and clean energy for customers now and in the future while also enhancing the company’s ability to restore service following severe storms. The company is also evaluating additional solar resources that will provide economical, clean energy for customers, with plans to reach over 500 megawatts by 2025 and even more by 2030. These resources will increase the diversity of Entergy Texas’ power generation portfolio.

Operation Lone Star Seizing Record Amounts Of Fentanyl, DPS Crime Lab Finds Fentanyl In Most Street Drugs AUSTIN - Governor Greg Abbott, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), and the Texas National Guard are continuing to work together to secure the border, stop the smuggling of drugs, weapons, and people into Texas, and prevent, detect, and interdict transnational criminal behavior between ports of entry. Since the launch of Operation Lone Star, the multi-agency effort has led to more than 270,400 migrant apprehensions and more than 16,700 criminal arrests, with more than 14,000 felony charges

reported. More than 5,600 weapons and more than $42.8 million in currency have been seized. Additionally, law enforcement have turned back more than 22,700 migrants from crossing the border. Operation Lone Star continues to fill the dangerous gaps left by the Biden Administration's refusal to secure the border. Every individual who is apprehended or arrested and every ounce of drugs seized would have otherwise made their way into communities across Texas and the nation due to President Biden's open border policies.

R E C E N T HIGHLIGHTS FROM O P E R AT I O N L O N E STAR: Governor Abbott Expands Border Security Operations, Including DPS Strike Teams, Vehicle Inspection Checkpoints Governor Greg Abbott on Wednesday announced the expansion of the state’s border security operations by creating Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) strike teams, establishing new inspection checkpoints targeting semitrucks, and the deployment of additional resources from the Texas Military Depart-

ment to mitigate President Biden’s growing border crisis. At a press conference in Eagle Pass, the Governor outlined ways Operation Lone Star agency partners are adding more resources and implementing strategies to secure all land owned or controlled by state and local governments along the border. “Until President Biden decides to uphold immigration laws passed by Congress, the State of Texas will continue utilizing every tool available to secure the border and keep Texans – and Americans – safe," said Governor Abbott.

Devotional HOW TO KNOW GOD LISTENS TO US EVERY DAY Spreading the Word

By Gail J. Box

Gailbox@consolidated.net

I always encourage myself when I pray. I find the more I pray, God does answer prayers of the ones who put all their heart into asking God for help for myself and for others. The shortest prayer proves He does like our prayers. Here it is – only 2 words long - “God listens.” Here in our Houston area, we had several billboards which said only those two words in very large letters. Psalm 116 says it very well with these encouraging words from David, the Psalmist: “I love the Lord because He hears my voice and my supplications. Because

He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live.” Psalm 116: 1,2. At times, I may have a problem I’ve placed before God in p r a y e r. I t m a y b e answered quickly, in a day, or in a few weeks. Of course, after we begin to wait for His answer, we want it to be a quick one. However, God only knows the exact right time that the answer should come. That’s why patience is a virtue! Let’s look at Mosses. He needed for God to react quickly, as all the people behind him had arrived at the edge of the Red Sea and had no way to cross it. What

then did God do? He told Moses this: “Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward…’ As for Me, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them; and I will be honored through Pharaoh and all his army…then the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord…” Exodus 14: 15, 17a, and 18a. There is always one thing we can be assured of, and that is this: no matter how long or short our prayers are, God always hears them. Even the children’s prayers are heard. Don’t

we like to hear children pray? Of course, we do. Sometimes our prayers are short and sometimes they’re long. As I pray, and the more I pray, I can “sense” in my spirit that God has either heard my prayer, or that I need to soothe my anxious spirit by staying with Him for a short time more. We know God can minis ter to our deepest needs and problems as we turn them over to Him. We may pray and receive no prompt answers, but after a good night’s rest, He may place that answer in the first moment we awake. There it is – solved!

That’s now much God loves to help us through our heaviest burdens. I usually wake up and say, “Thank you, God for taking that burden (or problem) away.” In closing, I chose a scripture where Paul is working with the Corinthian church to recognize the work of the LORD in their midst to help them grow in knowing Christ and God: “ A n d working together with Him, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain – for He s a y s : “ AT T H E ACCEPTABLE TIME I

LISTENED TO YOU, AND ON THE DAY OF S A LVAT I O N , I HELPED YOU.” Second Corinthians 6: 1, and 2. So, God not only hears our personal p r a y e r s , c h i l d r e n ’s prayers, but also, but also prayers for our churches, founded on Christian values, so that all would prosper from hearing His word. I pray for all to be blessed in hearing God’s word preached to a lost and dying world. Bless you all !

NOTICE OF RATE CHANGE REQUEST On July 1, 2022, Entergy Texas, Inc. (“ETI” or the “Company”) filed its STATEMENT OF INTENT AND APPLICATION FOR AUTHORITY TO CHANGE RATES (“Application”). ETI filed its Application with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (“Commission”) and with the municipal authorities in its service territory that have original jurisdiction over the Company's electric rates. Statement of Intent to Change Rates In the Application, ETI proposes an increase in its base rates designed to collect a total nonfuel retail amount for ETI of approximately $1.2 billion per year, which is an increase of approximately $131.4 million, or 11.2%, compared to adjusted test year retail base rate and rider revenues, exclusive of fuel revenues. This proposal represents an increase in overall revenues, including fuel, of 6.95%. The Application is based on a 12-month test year ending December 31, 2021. ETI requests inclusion in rate base of capital additions closed to plant in the period of January 1, 2018 through the end of the test year. In addition to approval of ETI's reasonable and necessary operating expenses and capital additions closed through December 31, 2021, the Application also includes the following requests, among others: · approval of a request to place in base rates costs currently being recovered through ETI's Generation Cost Recovery Rider, Distribution Cost Recovery Factor and Transmission Cost Recovery Factor; · approval of two new voluntary riders to address its customers' increasing adoption of transportation electrification (“TE”) technologies; · approval of the Green Future Option Schedule tariff, which would provide a new voluntary option for ETI customers to receive benefits of renewable power associated with ETI's utility-scale renewable resources; · approval of the Market Valued Demand Response (“MVDR”) Rider, which is designed to facilitate the transparency of ETI's customers and aggregators of those customers in providing demand response solutions; · approval of a limited-term Rate Case Expense (“RCE”) Rider to recover approximately $9.2 million over three years, which includes currently estimated costs associated with this proceeding and the actual costs incurred in ETI's prior fuel reconciliation (Docket No. 49916); · approval of multiple tariff changes described ETI's Application and accompanying testimonies; · approval of new depreciation rates; and · approval of requested waivers to certain Commission rules. To the extent a proposed new rider or schedule is not approved as a separate rider or schedule, ETI proposes to recover such costs through its base rates. Effect on Customer Classes The rate change proposed in the Application will affect all customers and classes of customers receiving retail electric service from ETI. The following table shows the effect of the proposed base rate, rider and tariff changes on existing rate classes:

Community Rebel Joan of ARC Members Celebrate Patriotism And Veterans Of All Wars

The Belles of the Rebel Joan Of Arc 2721 Chapter, celebrate and honor our Veterans of all Wars, as they do their Confederate

Soldiers of their heritage. The Chapter representatives celebrated the Independence of America and the valiant effort it

took to fight for our country’s Independence from England, as they do all the Veterans of All American Wars. These brave Belles are “no shrinking violets” when it comes to braving the Texas Heat and being patriotic for our Country and those who fought “for the cause”. Over 2,700 public participators were in attendance at the Conroe Memorial Day Ceremonies, and final numbers for Independence Day are still not in. Many of the Rebel Joan Of Arc Members give of their time to our

surrounding City and County Organizations for our communities, as well as other genealogy lineage groups of the various wars in our American History. These patriotic occasions are somber ceremonies, and proud moments to teach all Americans what was sacrificed for their freedoms today. Even Memorial Day was developed “out of the Ashes of the Civil War” to honor ALL the Soldiers that fought in that war, as spoken by Featured Speaker, Major Courtney J. Boston, USMC, at the

Memorial Day Ceremony. Not forgotten are his words of how fragile our country is without our powerful Military to keep our Country and Borders safe. As we Celebrate our 4th of July and Independence Day, may we always remember… GOD BLESS OUR AMERICA, AND MAY GOD BLESS ALL OUR SOLDIERS PAST AND PRESENT! MAY WE NEVER FORGET THE FOUNDING PURPSE OF O U R H O L I D AY REMEMBRANCES!!
