The pollinator garden at SamHoustonElementaryin Conroe is a joint project by Coushatti Trace Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution(NSDAR);Pines andPrairiesChapter Native Plant Society of Texas (NPSOT), and Heartwood Chapter, Texas Master Naturalist Carolyn Worsham,amemberofthese chapters,initiatedtheproject atthesuggestionofPrincipal PaulaNicolini.Fundingwas provided by a $100 grant from Pines and Prairies Mrs. Worsham completed this project as the final step to graduate from the NSDAR Members LeadershipCourse.

Sevenraisedbedswerein place on the school patio; however, they had not been tended in years. The first challenge was removing the visible weeds Layers of cardboard were added to suppress the weed growth, the soil was amended, and mulchwasaddedtoeachbed before the planting began. The first plantings of Gulf C o a s t P e n s t e m o n (Penstemon tenuis) and Tropical Sage (Salvia

coccinea)weremadeinearly March Other additions included Lanceleaf Coreopsis (Coreopsis lanceolata),BlueMistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum), Butterfly Milkweed (Asclepius tuberosa), Coral Honeysuckle (Lonicera sempervirens), Red Yucca (Hesperaloe parviflora), Texas Verbena (Verbena halei), Bearded Beggarticks

Plans include posting plant signs, offering an instructional component, and securing the support of faculty and students for gardenmaintenance.

InitsApplication,EntergyTexasseekstoreconcileapproximately$1.67billionof fuelandpurchasedpowerexpensesincurredduringtheReconciliationPeriodtogenerate andpurchaseelectricenergyforitsretailcustomers.InthisreconciliationproceedingETI seeks Commission review of EntergyTexas' eligible fuel and purchased power expenses incurred during the Reconciliation Period and a determination they were reasonable and necessarytoserveretailcustomers.
