We had a great night at the Southeastern Pennsylvania Soccer Hall of Fame banquet! Congratulations to Claudio Tovaruela on his induction this year! We are so proud to have Claudio as a member of our club and our family! He’s truly deserving! (See Page 3 for More Information and Photos) —GERMAN HUNGARIANS TO HOST US NATIONAL DONAUSCHWABEN TOURNAMENT— OAKFORD, PA – On Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May 27 the United German Hungarians of Philadelphia and Vicinity will host the U.S. National Donauschwaben Soccer Tournament. The National Tournament, in its 44th year, is a core event for the Danube Swabian Association of the U.S.A. Anyone who has been to the event will say that the weekend, Memorial Day each year, is a tournament with competitive amateur soccer on the field. It also includes camaraderie off the field amongst the players, staff and fans from many member clubs. The matches are open for all fans to attend. The host hopes to encourage local soccer fans to come to their facility to see their club but also some great soccer from clubs across the country. It’s a great opportunity for the local amateur soccer fan to see great soccer. Saturday, May 26 Group matches all day. A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Claudio played youth and semi pro soccer in Sao Paulo before he A Delicious Schnitzel Dinner came to the United States. May 26-27 – US National Donauschwaben In other Coaching experience Claudio was the Assistant Coach for Philadelphia Inter from Soccer Tournament 1989-1990 and the Philadelphia Future from 1991-1999.
