Hosts Allison Rosati & Donnie Glowinski
Allison Rosati anchors the award winning NBC 5 News joining the NBC 5 family as an anchor and reporter in 1990. Viewers first got to know her on "First Thing in the Morning." Five years later she began anchoring the early evening news. And in 1997 Allison was promoted to coanchor of NBC 5's 10PM newscast. She has been honored with numerous national and local awards for her work on stories, series and specials that impact our communities. The Emmy award winning “Wednesday’s Child” resulted in many adoptions for children looking for forever families. The American Women in Radio and Television recognized her work on the “Smart Choices, Safe Kids” special with a national Gracie Award. The program educated kids and parents about child predators and how to recognize the lures they use. Additionally Rosati received the prestigious Dante Award from the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans -- an annual award to journalists who are “not a timid friend to truth.” Committed to community service, Rosati volunteers her time to many Chicago-area organizations. She is passionate about giving back and has a special affection for charities that benefit children in need.
Allison’s not a stranger to the maroon and gold. She is a proud Bronco parent of graduates Stephen ‘15 and daughter, Kristin ‘20. We sincerely thank Allison for her willingness to jump in and help out her Bronco family over the years as a host for our annual Fashion Show and Maroon & Gold Gala.

Music Director, Donnie Glowinski is enjoying his second year teaching at Montini Catholic, and his first year hosting our Maroon & Gold Gala. He has been involved in Catholic education his entire life. He attended a Catholic grade school and high school in Indianapolis. From there he attended Millikin University, where he earned his B.M. in Music Performance and Music Business and DePaul University where he earned his M.M. in Woodwind Performance. Before becoming the Music Director at Montini, Donnie taught for fiec years at Scecina Memorial High School in Indianapolis and two years at St. Patrick High School in Chicago.
Donnie has embraced this most unusual year (due to Covid regulations) and has not waned one bit on his passion for teaching Bronco musicians and helping them hone their musical talents. This past December he put together Montini’s first ever virtual Christmas album which received much praise and accolades from our Montini community. Next up, he is planning Montini’s spring concert in May. For tonight’s virtual gala, Donnie has produced an awesome virtual musical performance featuring the amazing talents of his choir and band students. Donnie and his wife Katie are the proud parents of their two beautiful children, “little” Donnie, and Emma Jane.

welcome Dear Friends of Montini Catholic,
On behalf of the entire Montini Catholic school community, I would like to extend a very special thank you to all virtual guests at our 30th Annual Maroon & Gold Gala. Your participation is sincerely appreciated. We are especially thankful to all of those who are hosting gala viewing parties tonight. Thank you for opening your hearts and homes in support of this most special event. We hope that you have a very enjoyable evening. Every year, the proceeds from our Gala and Champions Club Raffle benefit all of the academic, extracurricular and community service programs of our school. The continual success of these and all of our events have played an important role in providing us with the funds necessary to grow our academic, extracurricular and community service learning programs. This year has certainly been a challenging one, but the loyalty and support we have received from you has truly been a humbling experience. I would also like to thank our Maroon & Gold Gala leadership committee and our Champions Club Raffle Committee. It takes a great deal of time and energy to organize and conduct a virtual event of this nature and I am truly grateful for all the time and effort they have invested. Finally, a special thank you to our donors, sponsors, underwriters and participants who have generously supported our gala. Your generosity and commitment to the students of Montini Catholic are truly the catalyst that helps us to inspire and empower tomorrow's leaders. Thank you again! You have all “Touched the Hearts” of our students with your support! Have a wonderful evening and may Jesus live in your hearts…forever! Sincerely,
Jim Segredo President

Builders of Excellence Michael ‘71 & Diane Kosmoch Schumacher ‘71 e are very grateful to Michael and Diane for their many years of support. They firmly believe in our Lasallian mission and are dedicated to helping us to fulfil this mission for each and every student. Michael grew up in Downers Grove and attended St. Mary of Gostyn grammar school. He graduated from Montini Catholic High School in 1971, and then attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing in June 1975. After graduation, Mike worked as a transportation/logistics agent for international freight forwarding companies in Chicago and Houston until 1991. He then became a stay-at-home dad while his daughter was young and playing tournament softball. In 1995, Mike purchased a local, neighborhood bar which he managed for 10 years, still while being a softball dad. In 2006, Mike sold the bar and then worked as a transportation agent for American Airlines Cargo until his retirement in 2009. Diane served a judicial law clerk for the Illinois Appellate Court for the First District of Chicago following graduation from law school. She then joined Belden Corporation as a Corporate Attorney in 1980 and joined Cooper Industries, Inc. corporate law department in 1981 when Cooper acquired Belden. Diane held various positions in the Corporate Law Department prior to being named Corporate Secretary in 1988, being the first female to be appointed an officer of Cooper, a publicly-traded, $4 billion, worldwide manufacturer of oilfield equipment, electrical equipment and hand and power tools. In 1995, Diane was appointed Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. Her responsibilities included coordination of the Company’s legal affairs and management of the in-house legal staff, shareholder relations and other corporate secretarial functions, risk management and environmental and safety affairs. Faculty Dedication Award Christine (Chrissy) O’Neill McManus ‘88
ronco students can’t sing her praises enough - when asked “who has inspired you as a student’ - time and time again, that answer is - Mrs. McManus! She has inspired many to go the distance and reach their potential. We are proud to have Chrissy as a member of our faculty for twenty-eight years. Chrissy grew up in Lombard and graduated from Sacred Heart School. She is a proud member of Montini Catholic’s Class of 1988. While at Montini she was active in the Fall Play, Spring Musicals, Peer Ministry, Math in the Fast Lane and was a Eucharistic Minister.
She earned her BS from Northern Illinois University and was the recipient of the Margariette Montague Wheeler Teaching Award. She earned a fellowship teaching underprivileged students at Northern Illinois University while completing the first year of her Masters Degree. In 1993 she began teaching at Montini Catholic while completing her MA at DePaul University. In her early years at Montini, Chrissie chaperoned Junior Retreats, was a class moderator, and coached the Math Team. In 1999 Chrissy cut back to part time teaching in order to raise her three children; Rebecca ‘17, Johnny’20, and Tommy ‘22. She returned to full time in 2009 and assumed department chair duties in 2012. Over her twenty-eight years at Montini, Chrissy has taught everything from Algebra I part I to Calculus and even a few Spanish classes! However, she carved out her niche with the Advanced Placement Calculus classes and the Math Team. She attributes the success of her AP classes to the students, their work ethic, and their family-style approach to learning. The Montini Math Team is the only Catholic school in Division 2A to qualify an entire team for State since 2001 and has won numerous awards and produced state champions. Chrissy is the recipient of the LaSallian Educator of the Year award, Brother George Wagner Master Teacher award, Teacher of the Month sponsored by STAR 96.7 and St. Francis University, and won 1st Place in the DuPage Credit Union Teacher Appreciation Contest. She is humbled and in awe of the successes her students have earned. They return the sentiment and are thankful to her for helping them achieve these successes.

Leadership Award Dan ‘86 & Dina Laughlin
an and Dina have always led by example and whenever they are asked to help their response has always been and emphatic,“Yes, we can do that!”
In 2013, when their son Patrick ‘17, joined the Montini Catholic school community, Montini’s Booster Club was in great need of volunteers. The Laughlin’s didn’t hesitate (or at least they did not make their hesitations known) to step up for the job. That began their eight- year journey with our Booster Program. One year later, Dan became President of the Booster Club and both he and Dina assumed the responsibility of running the concession stands for football and basketball games as well as organizing other Booster activities. “You would never know how daunting the job of Booster Club president truly is,” said President Jim Segredo. “Both Dan and Dina were never caught without a smile on their face ! They approached the job with the zeal of true Lasallians!” In addition to leading the Booster Club for the next eight years as the other two children, Ryan ‘18 and Megan ‘20 joined the Montini Catholic school community, Dina also volunteered her time as a member of the Maroon and Gold Gala and the Fashion Show committees, while Dan participated Champions Club Raffle, the Alumni Advisory Board and the Bronco Classic Golf Outing Committee. Prior to 2013, Dan served as the chair of the Bronco Classic Golf Outing Committee for several years and was very active in a variety of alumni activities. Dan and Dina also volunteered their time to be parent ambassadors for the school and played a key role in running the concessions for the Girls Varsity Basketball Christmas Tournament. They have also been very generous and supportive with donations to the Annual Fund, Maroon and Gold Gala and Bronco Classic Golf Outing. “When Dina and I decided to send our kids 15 miles east to Montini, we knew we wanted to get involved and volunteer to help the school. Volunteering our time to serve on committees or simply serving up popcorn and hotdogs maybe wasn’t our lives’ mission, but we just wanted to help. Just being part of the community, working with dedicated parent volunteers, and great teachers and staff has been great. And, watching our kids grow up before our eyes has been really cool. (Coincidentally, children Megan and Ryan absorbed their parents’ love for service - both received the President's Volunteer Service Award during their time as Montini students.) For their support, dedication, generosity and leadership to the Montini Catholic Community we are proud to present Dan and Dina Laughlin with the Montini Catholic Leadership Award.

Honorees
Margaret Crotty & the Crotty Family
he Crotty link to the Christian Brothers began in 1951 when Ed Crotty Sr. entered DeLaSalle High School, and went on to graduate in 1955 with fellow Montini connection, Mike Crosse.
Ed met Peg in Chicago and the two were married in 1963. They moved to Elmhurst, where they welcomed three children. When oldest son, also Ed, graduated from St. Alexander School, he insisted on going to Montini High School, happily donning the maroon and white. Ed ‘82 was followed closely by Bill‘83 and Lynn’84. (Lynn’s was the first class to graduate in the Gym of Peace on campus.) Both boys were involved in wrestling and all three siblings enjoyed their time in the marching band. Bill also graced the stage in Show Choir and annual musicals. Ed Sr. and Peg were also very active Bronco parents. They co-chaired the Band Parents Club when Dick Pitlik was Band Director, and Peg co-chaired the very first Fashion Show in 1982 with Reva Timpe. Ed’s 1982 graduation party also served as the Christening party for the newest Crotty family member, Megan’00, who followed in her siblings’ footsteps by getting involved in numerous teams, clubs and musical productions. Ed Jr. graduated from UIC and married his wife Susan in 1993. Together they have three children, Joe, Sarah, and Brian (all graduates of Naperville Central). Ed works as a Senior Developer at CNA in Chicago. Bill graduated from UIC and married Karen in 1994. All three of their girls are Montini graduates – Emily ’17, Kate ’18 and Maggie ’20. Bill works as an Executive Director at JP Morgan Chase in Chicago. Lynn ‘84 also graduated from UIC and married Dean Kirchoff in 1993. Their children, Michaela ’15 and Matthew ’16, also enjoyed attending Montini alongside their cousins. Lynn is the Technology Director and Science Teacher at St. Pius X in Lombard. Megan graduated from Loyola University Chicago and returned to MCHS to student teach. She then went on to work in our Development Office for over 10 years, as Alumni Director, Website and E-Marketing Coordinator and enjoyed planning the annual Bronco Classic Golf Outing. This is also where Megan met her husband, Anthony Pauley ’03. Their children, Gavin ‘32 and Brenna ’34 attend St. Pius X Parish School, where Megan is very active, and the kids are excited to be future Broncos. Having lived across from Montini for almost 40 years, the Crotty family shares many fond memories of the campus including Brother Terrence McLaughlin’s love of the grounds, beautiful summers filled with the smell of fresh flowers planted by Brother Joe Marciniak around the trees lining 16th street, and one summer (the first one to be exact) when Brother Tom Harding was told by Ed Sr. that he should get a lawn service to get rid of all the weeds around the front of the school (he took that very well). Recent memories include racing across the street at the sound of fire engines coming down 16th to cheer on the newest State Champion team, attending numerous plays, musicals and choir productions, and in the spirit of Ed Sr., still offering a few landscaping suggestions. When Ed Sr. passed away in 1994, the love and support from the Montini family was truly overwhelming. Through the Crotty family’s connection to Bronco High, they gained not only a fantastic education, but also many lifelong friendships and wonderful memories.

Loyalty Award Bobby & Amy Marciniak
T
he Marciniaks truly live their faith by never hesitating to give of themselves in support of the Lasallian mission they so firmly believe in. Amy and Bobby both hail from the Southside of Chicago and both attended Catholic school from grade school through college. Amy attended Mother McAuley High School while Bobby went to the other ‘MC,’ Mount Carmel. They met in high school – and the rest is history.
Bobby attended Lewis University and Amy, Marquette University. Both schools emphasized the importance of service to others and encouraged students to ‘Be the Difference.’Amy’s Father, Mark Cronin, Jr. was a huge proponent of Catholic education and deeply instilled a sense of always thinking of others and his charitable actions truly made an impact on his daughter. Prior to his death in 2004, Mark would anonymously pay the tuition for inner city children to attend Catholic Schools. “His motto in life was to whom much is given much is expected,” says Amy. Seeing such a fine example of using the gifts and talents God bestows, and wanting to provide a faith based education or their children, led Bobby and Amy to enroll their children in St Joseph School in Downers Grove. Bobby was heavily involved in coaching the boys in basketball and helped revive the SJS Football program, which was in jeopardy of not having enough players to field a Varsity team. The program turned around and became one of the most successful teams in the Dupage Parochial League. While Bobby was on the sports court, Amy was very involved in recruitment and retention helping increase the enrollment at SJS. “When it was time for our oldest daughter, Molly ‘14, to choose a high school, Montini was it - hands down,” says Amy. “ The family atmosphere they felt from the minute we walked in the door and was an extension of the feeling we had at SJS.” Since 2010 the Marciniaks have called Montini home. Molly followed in her mother’s footsteps after graduating from Montini by becoming a golden eagle at Marquette. Triplets, Julia ‘20, Luke‘20 and Myles‘20 knew Montini was for them after spending many hours at events during Molly’s Bronco years. Luke and Myles were the very fortunate recipients of Montini’s Academic Scholarship - offered to incoming freshmen based on their entrance test results. “Having three going to high school at the same time, the scholarship benefits were very much appreciated and a benefit that other schools do not offer,” said Amy. Bob and Amy realize the importance of volunteering and supporting academic as well as athletic events. Team parent, assistant coach, field trip volunteer and committee member are a few of the roles they have assumed over the years. Their children have flourished and succeeded on the sports courts, in the classroom and in all the various extracurricular they have been involved in. “They are so very appreciative of all the members of the Monitni staff,” adds Amy. “They have helped to mold their children into confident well-rounded individuals ready to take the world by storm!”

Mike is constantly donating meals and pizza to Montini’s faculty and staff. The main mission of the foundation is to provide "My family is blessed and we are honored to be able to financial assistance to students and their share our blessings with others.
