LET’S GO! 2020-21 Student Government Officers Selected Virtually

Despite not being on the school campus this past spring, it was business as usual as Student Government officers were selected. Student Government members get to take part in planning student activities throughout the school year. The officers listen to suggestions and make decisions on events, service programs and fundraising drives. This year’s members submitted their photos virtually during the spring shutdown!

"Don't be that person that says 'I should have joined earlier' in your senior year! If you want to get the most out of high school you need to get involved as soon as you can during your freshman year!"

In 2020 our Robotics Team Qualified for the VEX World Championship!

This past spring, our Robotics Team (above), after advancing to the 2020 VEX Robotics State Championship Tournament, also qualified for the World Championship. Out of over 11,000 VEX teams from around the world, our Bronco team was one of only 720 teams who qualified for this unique worldwide event, which included teams from over 30 countries!

Get involved!

music history made Senior Mahmoud Jabir (Ira Jones Middle School) didn’t settle for being among the few high school students chosen to perform at ILMEA’s District ensemble this past fall. No! He decided to go above and beyond by being the first ever Bronco to head down to Peoria to IMEC’s (Illinois Music Educators Convention) and perform in the Honors All State Chorus. Mahmoud is the only person to be selected in Montini's history. Not only was he selected for the All State Chorus, but his score was so high that he was placed in the Honors Chorus. A pretty awesome deal. Way to go Mahmoud! (Mahmoud is pictured above in Peoria with Music Teacher, Mr. Donnie Glowinski)

Our Broncettes were 2020 State Qualifiers this year and our Boys Soccer team took home the Regional Championship title. Girls Basketball were GCAC Conference Champs and ended their season as #3 in the IHSA 3A Championship. Hockey finished

1st Place in the Cougar Cup League Championship. Montini celebrated

56 IHSA Academic Recognition Award Recipients (among juniors and seniors). We celebrated 45 All Conference athletes (despite not having a Spring season)!

Senior Aidan O'Connor (St. Raphael, on left with teammate Connor McCann of St. Mary of Gostyn) was named IL High School Hockey League's Top Varsity Goalie for the 19-20 season. Aidan is a member of the Renegades High School Hockey Team. The team played in the Illinois Suburban High School Hockey League and took home the coveted Cougar Cup Championship for the second season in a row. Aidan was also named October’s Goaltender of the Month in 2019.

Our 7th annual ‘Johnny Always Wins’ Football Charity Game was another huge success last fall. Each year proceeds go to families dealing with the tragedy of leukemia.
