Montini Catholic A Lasallian College Preparatory High School
Our Mission Montini Catholic High School is a family-centered co-educational college preparatory high school rooted in the life and teaching of Jesus Christ as emulated by our founder, St. John Baptist de La Salle, and committed to the education of the whole person. Our Lasallian tradition recognizes the sacredness of all persons and educates students of diverse abilities, cultures, and socio-economic backgrounds.
Our History St. John Baptist de La Salle, a French cleric, founded the Brothers of the Christian Schools in the late 17th century. Named the Patron Saint of All Teachers, St. John Baptist de La Salle dedicated his life to providing a well-rounded, Christian education to students of all faiths. In 1963 the De La Salle Christian Brothers were invited to sponsor and manage a new Catholic High School in the Lombard area, and in 1966, Montini Catholic opened its doors to 217 freshmen. Today, Montini Catholic has graduated more than 6,200 Lasallians, a diverse group of individuals who are lifetime members of a unique community. Our annual enrollment averages 650 students from over 140 private and public grade schools in over 60 cities in the Chicagoland area. All faiths are welcomed members of our Montini Catholic family.
“Let us remember, that we are
“Who amongst you will challenge the status quo and be the catalyst that makes our world safer, who will have the compassion for those who suffer with illnesses, who will find a cure for those illnesses, who will delight us with their performances either athletic, musical or dramatic, who will enter the religious life and dedicate their lives to our Savior, who will travel to foreign lands to make a global difference? You might not know your path yet, but God does. You must be open to the call - so let Jesus live in your hearts.” - Maryann O’Neill, Principal

I am a member of Montini’s Math Team, Mu Alpha eta, National Honor Society, and Spanish NHS. I am secretary of the Spanish Club, a Student Ambassador and tutor as well as the founder of Montini’s Figure Skating Team!
rough figure skating I am able to perform in a sport that most schools do not offer. I have been a figure skater all of my life and wanted to continue my passion in high school. I voiced my thoughts about starting a team at Montini. With the help of the faculty and the support from my friends, we were able to start a team, and we won the gold medal at the High School Nationals Figure Skating Competition in our first year!
Montini has given me a strong academic palette, a broadened perspective, and the ability to participate in a multitude of activities. Teachers, coaches, and club
Montini provides a nurturing and supportive environment where everyone can find a friend and feel at home. - Gabby Rossi, Class of 2018, St. Mary of Gostyn Alumna moderators want you to succeed in the classroom just as much as they want you to on the ice or at an academic competition. e ability to prioritize your studies, be organized, and also make time for extracurriculars is a skill that I am confident will help me in college.
”
Smaller class sizes allow teachers to get to know each student and carry out our founder’s mission of “touching their hearts and minds.”
“
I am a sophomore who loves both Volleyball and Chamber Choir! I think that the word ‘dedicated’ describes me the best. Even with my busy schedule of volleyball practice and games, choir rehearsals and performances, and being a student with homework, I still find the time to be with my friends and family outside of school.
My favorite experiences so far at Montini? Definitely the football games, pep rallies and dances! - Sarah Gaffney, Class of 2020, All Saints Catholic Academy Alumna
Supportive teachers challenge me to work hard. My friends are a big inspiration too, because they know that I can do better and they are always pushing me to be my best.
”
I really love Montini’s family-like atmosphere. Being a school with smaller class sizes, you really get to know everyone!

“
I am proud to say that I have been very involved over my four years of high school as an artist, a scholar and a servant.
It’s been a fun experience to explore my ‘inner artist’ as a singer in our Chamber Choir and Acafellas group and a member of Montini’s Drama Club. I also enjoy being a member of the Math Team, the Spanish Club and Computer & Robotics Club. I enjoy using the skills I learned in Math and applying them to complete challenges presented in Robotics!
I have found it very rewarding to act as a servant to my school and community by volunteering in any way I can. Being a member of the Math Team allows me to do something I greatly enjoy which is competing against other schools. Montini’s Mathletes have been to the University of Illinois three times in my years here, to test our math skills at the State Math Competition.
Teachers are extremely dedicated and always willing to go beyond the classroom to help their students. - Ivan Felty, Class of 2018, Glenn Westlake Middle School Alumnus

Whether your goal is to be a scholar, an athlete, an artist or servant, there’s truly something for everyone at Montini.
Athletic programs emphasize leadership and team play among students while promoting positive self image.
“
I have been very honored to represent our Broncos athletically by participating in two sports, Basketball and, my favorite, Football. I’ve been a football fan since I was very little. e sport has taught me many life lessons and helped me to develop both character and strong leadership skills. My coaches always push me to be respectful and work hard towards achieving my goal both on the field and off. ey push my teammates and me to be the best people/players we can be. One of my favorite memories so far at Montini is going on our Junior Retreat. I was able to really reflect on
Whether they’re in a sport or club, Montini students are dedicated to be the best they can be. - Matthew Morrissey, Class of 2018, Sandburg Middle School Alumnus myself as a person now and was inspired to learn more about the Catholic faith in order to become a better person. I really learned a lot about my classmates on the retreat, especially those I didn’t know as well. By the end of the retreat, we were a lot closer from the experience. Since it’s a smaller school, Montini has a “family-like” feeling where everyone respects one another. Both teachers and classmates inspire success. For this reason, I know that Montini has prepared me for college both academically and spiritually.

Montini offers many activities for social growth, both in and out of the classroom. These opportunities foster a respect for self and for others.
“
One of my favorite activities at Montini has been the Baking Club. ere’s always something new to bake - and eat. I am also a member of the Treble Makers (women’s acappella group) as well as the French Club and Track and Field.
Treble Makers has been the most rewarding and fun for me. I absolutely love performing with our group of girls. We sing at four concerts throughout the school year. My fellow Treble Makers and I have shared an amazing experience through our passion for singing!
Montini has inspired me to always do better. I have learned not to set out to be good, but to be great! - Cydnei Quinn, Class of 2019, Calvary Christian School Alumna
One of my favorite experiences so far as a student at Montini was our Freshman Day of Recollection at the end of my freshman year. e day challenges students to reflect on their first year of high school, get to know each other outside of the classroom, and reflect on what it means to be a Lasallian student. I feel that everyone needs a little time to be at peace with their mind, body and soul. I am grateful to have been able to experience this day of connection.
”
Montini students excel both on the field and on the stage while never losing focus of their academic goals in the classroom.
“
I guess the word that best describes me as a student at Montini is “involved.”’ Since my freshman year I have participated in Cross Country, Track, Wrestling, Math Team and Pep Band where I play the saxophone! I am also a member of Mu Alpha eta and the National Honor Society. I love Cross Country because it allows me to make connections with students from many age groups. I have met several of my dearest friends in Cross Country and will always remember going to the State Meet during my sophomore year. It was a huge achievement and showed me that hard work and dedication really do pay off.
Students paint their own pictures through their involvement choices. And no two pictures are ever the same. - Jake Mondschean, Class of 2018, Butler Junior High Alumnus
My teachers and coaches have definitely prepared me for some of the rigor that I will face in college. I have learned valuable time management skills to help me in and out of the school setting. Montini Catholic offers the unique experience of emulating a college level academic environment while not being completely overwhelming.

I feel like I have tried a little bit of everything here at Montini. I was on the Football Team my freshman year, but it has been Soccer and Basketball where I feel I have found my match. I enjoy soccer the most and have built great friendships through sports.
I am currently a member of the Spanish, English, Science and Bags Clubs as well as a member of our National Honor Society. It does take dedication to be involved in so many activities as a student, but the support of faculty and friends helps me to keep myself focused and moving forward. I’ve learned to be very independent.
I was really honored and humbled to be able to join our Mission Team this year on their trip with Habitat for Humanity. Together we provided the hands and

help to families in need. I also spent a week in Nicaragua, over the summer, helping mothers and children living in the Garbage Dump area. Both of these trips were eye opening experiences for me and truly showed me the importance of being a servant in today’s world.
”
Students are motivated to step out of their comfort zones to explore their passions, knowing they have the support of teachers, coaches and friends.
“
I not only love being a Bronco, but I also enjoy supporting our Bronco teams through Cheerleading! I have also been a member of our Tennis Team and have explored my artistic side by performing in Montini’s annual Fall Plays and Spring Musicals. I am also a member of our Baking Club which is super fun. Taking part of many activities involves dedication and hard work, but it’s well worth the effort. I fell in love with cheerleading mainly due to the “family-like” environment it provides. We have a lot of fun together and it’s good to know that we always have each other’s backs!
Montini is like a family, so when one student , team or club wins, we’re all champions. - Jenna Burger, Class of 2018, Hillside Public School Alumna
Performance weekends for the Fall Plays and Spring Musicals are also very exciting. After a long three months of rehearsals, it’s great to see the smiles on peoples’ faces when they see the characters come to life on stage - it makes all the hard work worth it.
”
Montini makes sure you are very prepared for college. ere are annual college fairs and the college counselor is very helpful. I am the first in my family to be going to college, so I am very excited.
