WELCOME BACK TO DENVER
and T HE N ATI O N A L C HA RO LA IS SALE
Our goal for this National Charolais Sale is to blend the history and prestige of the National Western with the growing excitement and momentum in the Charolais breed. The event proves year after year to be the preeminent showcase of elite Charolais genetics in the world. We are looking forward to hosting this 43rd National Sale in the newly constructed National Western facility. The revamped schedule will put the Charolais breed squarely in the spotlight of all breeds in Denver and throughout the cattle industry. Last year’s 42nd National Charolais Sale was a truly exciting event in the history of the breed when 22.5 lots averaged $16,034 to set the highest average ever for this prestigious sale. Breeders from across the United States have come together again to offer the most superior genetics in the breed for this once-a- year event! There is not just one lot, but each and every lot will appeal to multitudes of Charolais breeders looking to move their program to new heights. I want to thank those breeders that have consigned their best, David Hobbs and the Charolais Journal fieldmen and to sale consultant Colt Keffer for assisting to secure some exciting fresh genetics. It does take a team to pull it all together. If any of us can assist you in your plans to attend this sale, bid online or to be on the phone with you during the sale if you can’t be here at that hour, please give us a call. We are all looking forward to offering the breed this outstanding set of genetics! Greg Hubert, Sale Manager
DEAR AICA MEMBERS and CHAROLAIS ENTHUSIASTS:
Welcome to the 2022 National Western Stock Show and all the Charolais events leading up to the 43rd National Charolais Sale and the 53rd National Charolais Show. Now in its 115th year, the National Western Stock Show has a rich history of bringing together some of the finest people and the most outstanding animals from across North America. Denver produces lots of great stories too. I know a family who went to the 2020 National Western looking for a bull to add new genetics to their herd. They purchased the bull of their dreams, went home with renewed enthusiasm for the cattle business and then decided to show their new bull. Over the course of the next year, despite the pandemic sweeping across the world, the bull went on to success at Fort Worth, Houston, two state fairs, the American Royal, Cattlemen’s Congress and Dixie National. What an amazing and fun success story for this ranching family who went to Denver hoping to purchase a pasture bull to turn out with their cows! The National Western features some of the most competitive cattle shows in the world “on the Hill” where breeders and junior exhibitors compete for banners and buckles. In addition, cattle producers from around the world gather in the famous “Yards” area to evaluate the latest prospects in “Herd Bull Alley,” and to walk through the pens and carloads of outstanding bulls and heifers - the very best that have been raised across this continent over the past two years. The National Western truly provides the unique opportunity to compare the best to the best. Last but not least, the newly built Stockyards Event Center will provide a beautiful venue for our 43rd National Charolais Sale. This exciting event serves as the pacesetter for the 2022 Charolais sale season. Like the family mentioned above, maybe you too will come to Denver and find the Charolais bull or female of your dreams! As a Charolais enthusiast, I encourage you to visit the AICA Hospitality Tent in Herd Bull Alley, to reunite with old friends and meet new ones. I look forward to seeing you in Denver. Regards, Clint Rusk, AICA EVP

Never in the history of the Charolais breed and maybe even the purebred cattle business has a bull had an impact like M&M Outsider 4003 PLD. His progeny have quite simply dominated the show ring and topped sales for the past several years. Outsider created a whole new kind of Charolais that revolutionized the way people view our breed. With the emergence of his progeny people from outside the breed began to sit up and take notice of just how good Charolais can be. The Charolais phenomenon that Outsider created culminated at the 2018 American Royal when LJR Ms. Just A Starting 2376E ET was named Supreme Champion Junior Heifer. From 2018 till now all the National Champion and Reserve National Champion Females have been sired by Outsider. And from that same year, 7 out of 8 National Champion or Reserve National Champion Bulls have either been sired by Outsider, out of Outsider dams or out of the dam of Outsider himself. This is saying nothing of the multitude of Junior National winners, both heifers and bulls, state fair champions and countless local and jackpot show winners. It is easy to look at this success and Outsider’s usage within the breed and question how long it can last. Our answer is that we think he is only beginning to assert his dominance and secure his place among breed legends. S A T U R D A Y, J A N U A R Y 1 5 , 2 0 2 2
There will never be
another like him!
To give perspective to what Outsider has yet to offer to the breed, here are some of the top bulls in the breed and what they have reported for registered progeny: TR MR. FIREWATER 5792R ET – 4,071 LT LEDGER 0332 P – 7,618 VCR SIR DUKE 914 PLD – 5,930 LHD CIGAR E46 – 5,289 LT WYOMING WIND 4020 PLD – 8,143 At this point Outsider only has 1,570 registered progeny.
Now let’s talk about income generating potential. From 2017 to this point in 2021 1,169 units of semen were sold to total $447,951. Additionally in those same years 1,060 semen certificates were sold, generating another $74,100. Over that 5-year period Outsider generated over $100,000 in income per year. There isn’t a mutual fund or 401K that will generate that kind of return. An online sale featuring only Outsider semen is scheduled for early February 2022. The new owner will recoup a good share of his investment within a short time after purchase.
TERMS OF SALE
Selling one-third revenue sharing interest only, no possession. Semen will only be marketed through mutually agreed upon sales and at a mutually agreed price. Beginning December 1st, 2021, semen certificates price will be set at $100. New owner will begin to share revenue starting as of January 1st, 2022. For more details, contact sale management.

LT Brenda 2184 Pld
Presented By
LINDSKOV-THIEL RANCH, BRENT THIEL: 605-848-1840 ISABEL, SOUTH DAKOTA
LT Brenda 1014 Pld
No females in the history of Lindskov-Thiel Ranch have contributed as much to the future and reputation of not only the LT program but the entire breed, as the females from the Brenda cow family! That original LK Brenda 477 started things happening to develop this cow family in 1984 in the Lindskov-Thiel herd. She was linebred to the “King of Cow Country” Nutmegs Avignon FR31, a sire well-documented for perfect udders and maternal traits. Her first daughter LCR Miss Lindskov 7109 didn’t get the Brenda name, but would make the LT Brenda name last forever! Since that time Diamond Dams of Distinction, sale toppers, top of the herd performance cows and breed-leading sires have evolved. Stockmen from multiple continents have admired the Brenda’s udder quality, productivity and brood cow look. Forty-seven LT Brenda females are due to calve beginning in February/March 2022. These include five daughters and three granddaughters of LT Brenda 2184, in which a one-half interest sold for $29,000. Six daughters and one granddaughter of LT Brenda 8034 that sold for $50,000 are included. One full sister, one daughter, three granddaughters and two great granddaughters of LT Brenda 6120 are in this offering as well as five daughters, two granddaughters and eight great granddaughters of LT Brenda 1014. Plus, thirteen LT Brenda weaned 2021 heifer calves, including two LT Badge 9184 ET daughters out of LT Brenda 2184, that will need to be considered. It took some arm twisting to get Brent to put this opportunity into the National Sale, but always a supporter of this event, we finally got it in. Each time a Brenda enters the sale ring the adrenalin flows!

$18,000 selection by Ankony Farms, Clarkesville, GA
Presented By
EATON CHAROLAIS, THE EATON FAMILY, LEE EATON: 406-584-7546 LINDSAY, MONTANA
The Eaton Charolais family has supported the National Charolais Sale and in particular the Charolais Sales held in what they consider their home territory at Denver, Colorado for many, many years. This year will be no exception as the buyer of this consignment can make the trip to Lindsay, Montana and search your little heart out for the very best female you can find from over 2,400 head of ETN branded females! But be prepared this isn’t going to be an easy task with lots of cattle, lots of terrain, lots of different locations, lots of records and there will be lots of laughs if you’re riding with Lee Eaton! Just check out these EPD results with 2,437 Active Females in their AICA herd inventory, the average Milk and Marbling EPDs rank in the breed’s top 20%. Then consider the number of ETN branded females for these desirable traits ranking in the breed’s top 25%: BW: 1,058 head; Milk: 1,596 head; CE: 909 head; MCE: 1,549 head; TM: 892 head; MB: 1,297 head and TSI: 762 head! This selection doesn’t need to be accomplished until May 1, 2022 and is highly recommended to you to not make the trip there until the later spring in April. So, then you get another great advantage, you are not really buying one female, you get to select from any cow and her calf in this spring calving herd. This is a tremendous plus as you get to study the cow’s udders, easy-fleshing, sex of the calf at side, the sire of that calf, this will be much easier on your process.

The Wagonhammer Ranch was founded in 1910 by the Wolf family. The name of the ranch came from the multipurpose tool that served as the lynch pin that connected the double tree to the wagon and as a wrench for tightening the nut on the wagon wheel. It is symbolic of their forefather’s strength, efficiency and ingenuity. Today the Wagonhammer Ranch is an operation that is building on the Charolais herd of the present with over 150 females two-year-olds and up that have EPDs ranking in the top of the breed. 56 cows are in the top 15% of the breed for Marbling EPD, 23 cows in the top 15% for Yearling Weight EPD and 38 cows in the top 15% of the breed for TSI! Their elite cow families are true to the founding of Wagonhammer with a solid production of dependable genetics. Included in this herd are six daughters of WR Duchess Y601, NextGen’s selection from last year’s National Sale choice of the herd for $12,000, recognized today as one of the steals of the sale! She was ten years old and in the top 1% for TSI, and was the granddam of WR Foreman D602. Her pictured maternal sister WR Duchess Z610 is a maternal sibling to WR Sandy who has produced over $100,000 for Gateway Genetics. Another pictured maternal power female is WR Miss Long Shot Z626. Young heifer pictures are daughters of dams in the herd and a picture of last springs high selling bull to Horse Creek -WR High Tech 705 out of a 7/8 sibling to WR Foreman’s dam. You can travel a long way and not find the maternal value presented here! Don’t forget, any female in the herd, open heifer, first-calf-heifer pairs, mature females with calves at side or donor dams!

If you have never been to see the Charolais females at King Ranch, you need to go. Not only for the tremendous cow herd they have built, but you will be in for quite a treat to enjoy the hospitality of Bill King, his daughter Becky, husband Tom and their family. Their operation may be better known in the livestock industry as one of the greatest herds of Hereford cattle in the country, but their Charolais herd is equally impressive. Their ranches are straight east of Alburquerque and straight south of Santa Fe. At last year’s National Sale the choice of the King Ranch bred heifers commanded $20,000 with many of the top breeders in the nation bidding on this excellent choice. This year Bill has opened it up to the entire cow herd. That’s right over 350 head of mature cows, bred and open heifers to select from. And this year a unique twist to boot! There are so many super females to choose from you may want to exercise this option; Your choice of one female or you may select one-half interest in two females and share the embryos with King Ranch! The base of this cow herd has been built around the bloodlines of LT Bluegrass 4017 and his son LT Blue Value 7903 ET. Another highlight of this choice is several daughters of LT Horizon 6303 Pld, a son of LT Silver Distance 5342 that goes back to the famous LT Brenda cow family – a featured lot in this sale! Another connection in this National Sale is one of the best females ever produced at King Ranch – KR Miss Easy Pro 8063 who produced many ETs for Thomas Ranch and Dan Sullivan, including DSUL Lauren B19 that is also a feature of this National Sale.
It won’t be hard to find the “value” in this Choice of the Herd!

This great young female has captured the attention of the breed after her first calf RBM Keystone H41 sold 2/3 interest for $34,000 in the RBM Annual Bull Sale. Brent Charolais, Alton, Kansas & Legacy Ranch, Blackfoot, Idaho made the purchase that day. Sired by LT Rushmore 8060 and out of this tremendous donor, RBM Keystone H41’s balanced EPDs are impressive across the board. He ranks in the top 20% of the breed for WW, top 8% for YW, top 2% for Milk, top 2% for MTL, top 4% for SC and then it gets even better with top 2% for MARB and top 5% for TSI! RBM Jasmine F251 herself ranks in the top 6% of the breed for YW and MTL, along with top 7% for REA, top 2% for MARB and top 3% for TSI! All breeders can take these numbers and build on into their own ET program numbers that will dominate the industry! While RBM may be a new consigner to the National Sale, their RBM influence in the breed has been well documented. You will all recognize the name HC Rhinestone 5100 that RBM Livestock purchased out of the Hebbert Charolais herd as the “Choice of the Herd” right here in Denver years ago. She is the dam of RBM Fargo Y111 owned with Lindskov-Thiel & R Lazy B Charolais, that has produced over 1,500 registered progeny and she is also the dam of RBM Rhinestone Z38, the sire of many great ones for Thomas Ranch and the Effling families including the powerful National Champion TR CAG Carbon Copy! Someday in the records of the breed, we will look back at RBM Jasmine F251 and her son RBM Keystone H41 and all realize the value of this bloodline!

GUARANTEED SUCCESSFUL FLUSH IN CHOICE OF THE
Wright Charolais Donors
Yes sir, that’s right, your choice of any donor in the Wright Charolais herd to flush to the sire of your choice. And it only gets more exclusive than that. The decision has been reached by Derry Wright and managing partner Chris Peuster, that this will be the only flush offered at auction any more other than during the National Charolais Sale in Denver!! This will be a guaranteed successful flush of at least 6 frozen embryos. What a better way to show you how deep this selection is than to just show you the pictures of as many of these super donors at Wright Charolais as we can fit on the page.

Daughter of KE Wonder Woman ET
Yes this “stinger” KE Wonder Woman ET the 2018 49th National Champion Female got her barn nickname “WASP” long before that National Champion honor! She has captivated all that have seen her starting back as a young heifer calf being named the 4th Overall 2017 Junior National Champion, Reserve Supreme at the 2017 Tulsa State Fair, then double clutching it at the 2017 American Royal Junior & Open Shows as Grand Champion and 2018 Grand Champion at the Oklahoma Youth Expo! Her dominance is bred into her, with Outsider siring more National Champions than you can count on two hands. Her dam “JoJo” was a famous National Champion Female. Her paternal grand sire Fire Water was a National Champion Bull that sired multiple National Champions. Fire Water’s dam Thomas Swissersweet 1764 “ZsaZsa“ was a National Champion. And now here comes KE Wonder Woman’s daughter GHC KLA Sabrina 0181 swooping in, building a resume of championships across the country just like her mother did. She just recently won the American Royal Junior Charolais Show Grand Champion trophy. She is averaging just under ten quality embryos per flush and will sell with a guarantee of at least six frozen embryos.

Son of LT Brenda 8034
One of our breed’s most exciting females! No flush has ever been sold out of her before! LT Brenda 8034 Pld and her progeny captured all the attention at last year’s Grand Hills Dispersal. Jon Proehl brought her home to J & J Trust in a heavily contested bid off for $50,000. Her LT Patriot 4004 and LT Citation 5228 progeny then took over the auction at 6 to 8 months age and sold for $14,500, $9,500, $6,000, $16,000 and $8,000! LT Brenda 8034’s first calf was LT Brenda’s Blues 0034 and she was sold for $16,000 at weaning age as the Choice of the Lindskov-Thiel heifer calf crop in the National Sale to Wright Charolais. She quickly produced a $30,000 son for them. 8034’s third calf was LT Brenda 2184 Pld who’s first 13 sons sold for an average of $13,118. Then a one-half interest in 2184 tops the 2019 National Sale to Full Circle Cattle for $29,000 and at last year’s National Sale a flush in her sells for $12,000 to Canada. Two progeny later 8034 produces LT Tioga 4090 that sells for $40,000 to Rathmourne & J&J Trust. A maternal brother GHC Reagan 9012 had a one-half interest sell for $40,000 in 2020 to Cannon Charolais. Also, during the Grand Hills Dispersal maternal sisters sell one-half interests for $13,000, $12,500 and $10,000. The success just keeps piling up! This flush is guaranteed to produce at least 7 frozen embryos by IVF, at Yackley’s TransOva collection center in South Dakota.

This is another offering from our first-time consigner to the National Sale – J & J Trust! And what a solid, production-based donor dam to do it with. This super female made it into the J&J program after producing eight high performing progeny for Lindskov-Thile Ranch and had never been flushed! Seven of those eight progeny were bulls of the highest degree of performance. Those seven sons had adjusted weaning weight of 805, 852, 787, 870, 795, 799 & 773 lbs. Three of those bulls turned out to be purebred herd sires of fame; LT Sundance 2251 Pld, that currently has 767 progeny registered at AICA, LT Venture 3198 Pld, that has 660 progeny registered and LT Commissioner 5232 Pld with 92 progeny all in the R Lazy B herd in North Dakota. They sold for an average as yearlings for $55,667! Those first four sons had adjusted yearling weights of 1,465 lbs. Does performance count in the Charolais breed? It does and normally in dollars. LT Sundance 2251 sold for $82,000 in 2013, LT Venture 3198 sold for $50,000 in 2014 and LT Commissioner 5232 sold for $35,000! A full sister to LT Ballet 9219 sold for $16,500 as a bred heifer in the Grand Hills Dispersal to Full Circle Cattle Co. Seventeen maternal sisters to Ballet 9219 sold for an average of $5,060 during that same sale. Only one flush has ever been sold off of LT Ballet 9219 and that was for $8,000. Need another positive plus for investing in this flush? She ranks in the top 8% of the breed for MARB EPD! This flush sells with a guarantee to produce at least 7 frozen embryos by IVF. BOYERT SHOW CATTLE, JARED BOYERT: 330-416-4105 SEVILLE, OHIO
Selling one-half interest and choice of spring or fall possession. I was quite excited when Colt called to tell me he had secured this JVS Long Snapper F39 son in the National Sale from the always exciting Boyert program! There were many of us that either tried to get JVS Long Snapper in a consignment sale or an elite breeder that tried to purchase him outright, but Evelyn Gay Duhon owner of JVS wouldn’t even talk to some of us about letting him leave her herd. The Boyert’s finally wiggled some semen away from her and this will be the first son of Long Snapper to be registered and offered at auction. The JVS breeding program has long been known for producing some powerful older bulls that have dominated the show ring for years, but Long Snapper was the first to truly excite the breeders far and wide. He first captured everyone’s attention during the Royal Breeders Classic and the ROE show at the American Royal in Kansas City. His popularity only grew from there with his moderate frame and structural correctness. Long Snapper’s sire sold to JVS & Bar J in the 2016 Wright Charolais Bull Sale for $20,000 and packs the success of LT Ledger and Baldridge Sweetheart 7M into the pedigree. JVS Long Snapper’s dam descends from the famous M6 Beaumont cow family and builds on the linebred genetics of Bluegrass and Budsmydad. Now bring in the super Boyert donor dam of this herd sire and you have it all laid out before you. The dam of Danika, TR Ms Kay 30A, sold for $115,000 to Andrew Hodges, Lebo, Ks.

Selling one-half interest and full possession. You are going to see the prefixes and names throughout this pedigree that you quickly recognize know what great cattle are all about. Luke Doris and Brandon Bertsche combined the powerful Resource with the National Champion “Jojo” to make Luscious, the sire of this herd sire prospect Lot 17. He is cranking out some great ones. One doesn’t even know where to start on the heritage and breeder success of the dam of this bull. She is an amazing Outsider daughter produced by Jirl Buck and the Boyert’s out of the great donor 3680A which they purchased in the Thomas Ranch Dispersal. She produced three outstanding ET daughters with the highlight being BK BOY Eye Catching that sold for $83,000 and went on to be the Reserve National Champion Female for Kelton Arthur. Brett Carter selected the dam of Justice out the same Buck Cattle Company sale that produced BK Boy Eye Catching. He said that Eye Candy was by far the most unique Charolais he had ever laid eyes on. Smooth build, flat shouldered and probably the most feminine of all the flushmates.

LT Badge 9184 Pld
Sire of WIA Brenda’s Doll 194 P
Presented By
WILD INDIAN ACRES, MIKE KISNER: 636-236-0306 DESOTO, MISSOURI
This little doll will gather a crowd at the National Western Stock Show stalls before the National Sale. She is just a July born ET daughter of the $105,000 2/3rds interest LT Badge 9184 Pld and if this heifer calf is any indication of the quality he is going to put out, stand back! At last year’s National Sale a one-half interest in the dam of LT Badge 9184 Pld commanded $31,000 from J&J Trust and Full Circle Cattle. Then let’s start looking into the bottom side of this ultra-famous and productive LT Brenda cow family. Yes, the same LT Brenda’s that you see featured in this National Sale catalog for Lindskov-Thiel’s Choice of the LT Brenda cow family and J&J Trust’s flush in LT Brenda 8034 Pld. The dam of this heifer calf was the Grand Hills “Choice of the ET Daughters of LT Brenda 6120” in the 2018 National Charolais Sale in Kansas City. There were three outstanding seven-month-old daughters sired by M&M Outsider 4003 to select from. That onehalf interest demanded $27,500 from the partnership of Wild Indian Acres and Wright Charolais and they chose GHC Brenda 8005. A one-half interest in GHC Reagan 9012, a maternal brother sired by LT Blue Value sold for $40,000 to Cannon Charolais during the 2020 Grand Hills Bull Sale. The top-selling lot in the Grand Hills partnership dispersal LT Brenda 8034 sold for $50,000. Yes sir, there is maternal value in the bottom side of this pedigree tabulation!
She’s young, She has the pedigree, She’s a Brenda, She’s a Doll!
