Every day, Héma-Québec must collect at least 1,000 blood donations to meet all the needs of Québec hospitals. The collective blood supply belongs to all. How to sell a house that didn't sell WEDNESDAY
October 12, 2016
MONTREAL - If your home has just come off the market and hasn't sold, don't be discouraged. The reason your home did not sell may have nothing to do with your home or the market. In reality, your home may have been one of the more desirable properties for sale. So Why Didn't Your Home Sell? Last year many of the homes listed for sale never sold at all, and many sellers found that there was a tremendous amount a homeowner needed to be educated on to sell their home for top dollar in the shortest time period.
Don't risk making the wrong choices and losing both time and money on your investment. Before you hire a realtor, know the right questions to ask to save you time and money. Industry experts have prepared a free special report called "How to Sell a House that Didn't Sell" which educates you on the issues involved. To order a FREE Special Report, visit www.sellmyexpiredlisting.ca Get your free special report NOW to make sure your home sells the next time you list it for sale.

The Sound of Victory
“I found myself bouncing left right in my bathroom, grabbing my clipper and dancing my way towards the mirror. Smirk on my face, I had to admit that I finally enjoyed making an authentic hip-hop song after so long”, said Montreal based artist Mr. Bolly, while recalling his very first love for hip hop.
His hit single “Victory” is out on all digital platforms (iTunes etc) also airing on Bell Fibe TV1 who is rotating a TV show called Boxinglife.tv, used as a jingle in 7 episodes. It doesn’t stop here. The first spin of the remixed version was out on K103.7fm with legendary host Don Smooth very recently.
Ladies and Gentlemen, if you haven’t already, please give a warm welcome to Mr. Bolly!
www.mtltimes.ca
If you heard his song Victory, you will probably remember the words: “Buckle up: this song is called to reach out the 4 corners of this world”. Ambitious you’d state? Well as we speak, he is something like a phenomenon. Last September 23rd, I was introduced to our hip-hop artist along with his producer and partner in crime Sorin Pavelesco and Lea Longo who does script mantra on the song and considered as the angelic side of team. They were about to perform at The Views of the World Film & Music Festival, held at the prestigious StJames Theater. They were the only musical act booked for this event which is unique and testifies on how Mr. Bolly and his team has a history of delivering powerful and jaw dropping performances on stage.

“Here’s how I see it: “Victory” has a life of its own. I now have “no control” on the single. You have athletes such MMA fighters and boxing circuit in Quebec who uses “Victory” as their entrance’s theme for I believe this tune is what athletes can identify with. Simply put, the song is its own brand”, he shared. I wouldn’t be surprised if Victory becomes the official anthem of some high-end sports team such as the Yankees or the Alouettes… Why not? Wearing an edgy suit and stylish hat, Mr. Bolly is a character and the image of East meets West, reflecting Al Capone and Charlie Chaplin. The artist is just as assertive as his hit song. No wonder why The Views of the World Film & Music Festival added Mr. Bolly to their program.

As I was panning the stage from time to time, I was left intrigued by the creative fusion between Mr. Bolly and his keyboardist. Yes, he did introduce him to me as Sorin the Producer of the “Victory”, but yet, I could feel that their collaboration was deeper than their partnership. “Just like Michael Jackson stuck with Quincy Jones, Snoop Dogg with Dre and Justin Timberlake with Timbaland, I too have a distinctively solid partnership with Sorin Pavelesco. In short, Sorin is the genius behind it all and the main composer/producer. We both co-own Break the Bank music Production and I am the lyricist and main writer in the company. My objective is to remain with Sorin because he creates such unbelievable sound that merges wonderfully with my creativity”, said Mr. Bolly. When asking if collaborating with other established producers could serve as a key component in helping reaching new levels of stardom, his response was straight forward: “Partnering with anyone else can just kill my brand at least for the moment.” What’s next? He shared that in 2017 him and his team will be producing the music video for the song Victory, as well as releasing an EP with 6 songs. Also, the Victory remix will be released sometime in November 2016, and the official album will see the light of the day in a short run.
Mr. Bolly is certainly the “sugar and spice” of the Hip Hop scene in Montreal. The Montreal Times wishes him a great continuity and will keep following his career closely! Follow Mr Bolly on smart phones and mobile devices: http://mrbolly.mobi

alloween is upon us and once again...Geordie is producing a show to thrill kids and adults alike. If you remember reading Ray Bradbury’s The Halloween Tree you’ll want to set aside a date to take in Amanda Kellock’s (Artistic Director of Repercussion Theatre) adaptation of the book to

the stage. Bradbury’s book was actually meant as a screenplay for a production that was to be a collaboration with Chuck Jones. It was finally turned into an animated piece, narrated by Bradbury for television that ended up winning an Emmy. A group of boys are preparing to go out trick-or-treating on Halloween but their friend Joe Pipkin isn’t able to join them. He is off on his own journey - one in which he will live or...die. The boys pursue Joe through time and space through many different cultures. This is what Geordie is so very good at. Nothing that they put on stage is done gratuitously - the boys travel through ancient countries and cultures picking up the meanings of Halloween along the way. (You always come out of a Geordie production with a bit more knowledge than before you went in!). WEDNESDAY

Kellock is excited about this project and has always wanted to present the book as a play. “It was about more than just the spooky and commercialized Halloween that we know. It really kind of dug into what other cultures overtime have done to honour or deal with death, or warding off an evil spirit.” In other words it is about more than what goes bump in the night...It can also be about love. Perhaps the love of a group of kids for their mate who has gone missing. The play works for kids anywhere between ages 8 and 13. It’s a little like Stranger Things, a series based on kids but reaches out to adults as well. Fans of Bradbury will be pleased to see that Kellogg has not strayed from the original intent of the book - with one minor exception. “In a book you can follow a group of people but in this play we concentrate on and develop the individual characters a bit more.” Geordie is inviting the audience on a journey

with them to unravel the mystery of Halloween, and the mystery that unfolds in the search for Joe Pipkin. But Kellock also suggests a far deeper philosophy. “How can we fully embrace life if we also don’t acknowledge death. Life and Death are interconnected. This play seems like a playful/honest and magical way to start a conversation about living life to its fullest - valuing the people we hold dear and marveling at all the life around us. This is ultimately a story about friendship and about living each day as though it could be your last.” Add to all that some of Geordie’s own creative magic and you know the show is going to be good! People are welcome to arrive at the show dressed up for Halloween - or not. The Halloween Tree plays at the D.B. Clarke Theatre from October 21 to the 30. Haunted Montreal’s Red Light District tour debut
Donovan King and Haunted Montreal have designed a ghostly tour of Montreal’s Quartier des Spectacles

By Jillian Clark mtltimes.ca 20
o you find yourself wondering about the people of Montreal’s past as you explore our beautiful city? Montreal is built on a thick layer of diverse history: some of which is a little spooky; the rest may be a little risky. Few people know the history of the streets we frequent daily. However, the debut of the Red Light District tour hopes to change that. Donovan King and Haunted Montreal have designed a ghostly tour of Montreal’s Quartier des Spectacles combining the city’s rich history with Halloween haunts of the city’s past. The guided tours begin on Friday, October 14. Do the names bank robber Machine-Gun-Molly, or serial killer Dr. Thomas Neill Cream ring any bells? If not, Donovan can fill you in on their ghostly sins from the forgotten era. Quartier des Spectacles was once the location of Montreal’s Red Light District. All sorts of unholy and unimaginable acts took place here: gambling, drinking, and exotic dancing are just the tip of the sins committed on the site. While the area was eventually rebranded as entertainment central, the ghosts of days past are still rumoured to haunt their old hunting grounds. WEDNESDAY

The Red Light District of Montreal was in its heyday during the days of prohibition. “People came from all over North America to partake because booze was illegal everywhere, except for Quebec,” said Donovan King. “The reason it wasn’t outlawed here was because of the Catholic Church—ironically, it was the church who kept the booze flowing here.” Unsurprisingly, Montreal became a hotspot for people looking for a place to drink. This type of risky activity ultimately resulted in some scary stories. Donovan, your tour guide, has plenty of experience storytelling and acting, and knows all about Montreal’s hauntings. “I’ve been working in the haunted theatre business since the early 1990s,” said Donovan. “It’s second nature to run these types of tours.” He hopes to spread
the fearful fun of the city’s haunted inhabitants. Donovan enjoys the Red Light District specifically because of the Halloween-esque themes of the tour. The red light days of burlesque, brothels, and booze, alongside the ghostly appearances in the area make for the perfect Halwww.mtltimes.ca
loween outing. For added spookiness, these tours start after dark. Visitors and locals alike are curious to see what the story behind the Quartier des Spectacles really is: “it’s universally appealing,” said Donovan. Everyone is at least a little bit curious about the paranormal. How else are we supposed to describe the eerie, empty feelings in the pits of our stomachs, or the pipes that go bang in the night? These are common occurrences in the Red Light District theatres, bars, and hotels. Recently, Donovan personally experienced paranormal activity in Montreal— ask him about it on the tour. The Red Light District tour begins at Le Midway on Saint-Laurent, and the group departs 10 minutes before the start time of the tour. Each tour lasts about 90 minutes. Haunted Montreal hosts other guided tours around the city, but the Red Light District is the best for those looking for a good Halloween haunt. Join Donovan October 14 through 31 for a spooky evening into Montreal’s scandalous and scary red light past. English tour dates: Friday, October 14 @ 8:30 pm Saturday, October 15 @ 8:30 pm Sunday, October 16 @ 8:30 pm Friday, October 21 @ 8:30 pm Saturday, October 22 @ 8:30 pm Sunday, October 23 @ 8:30 pm Friday, October 28 @ 8:30 pm Saturday, October 29 @ 8:30 pm Sunday, October 30 @ 8:30 pm Monday, October 31@ 8:30 pm Tours in French begin at 8:00PM on the same dates.

The 10th season for the CWHL opens on October 15th and 16th with Les Canadiennes heading out to Brampton, ON to take on the Brampton Thunder. The home opener will be held on October 22nd and 23rd at the Etienne Desmarteau arena (3430 Rue de Bellechasse) where they will be hosting the Toronto Furies for a two-game series. To celebrate a decade of bringing the best of women’s hockey to the ice, all five CWHL teams will host a 'Heritage Game' this season, honoring team alumni and those who have contributed to the growth of their team and the league over the past 10 years. On December 10th 2016, Les Canadiennes will host the Calgary Inferno in a heritage game and on January 7th 2017 they will travel to Boston to take on the Boston Blades. “Not only will we have a chance to look back at the amazing stories and moments that make up the CWHL’s history so far and reflect on this incredible journey, but we will have the chance to look forward as we pave the way for the future of the women’s game and the CWHL,” the league's commissioner Brenda Andress said. The CWHL is a non-profit organization, with every dollar going towards building a league that is dedicated to raising the profile of women's hockey, providing a place for the best female players in the world to compete and inspiring the next generation of female hockey heroines.
