The Metropolis is an emblematic institution on Sainte Catherine just east of St. Laurent
all it the power of the corporate world, the reduction of cultural icons to business symbols, or whatever another term that may come to one's mind, the truth is that the trend toward naming popular entertainment and sports venues after powerful corporations is getting more prevalent these days. The latest such move came last week when at a press conference called by the Spectra Team "a partnership agreement" between that group, and Telus, one of the major telecommunications companies in Canada, to modernize Metropolis was announced. Under the agreement, the historic theatre will be renamed M Telus, a change to be effective in May 2017.
• December 10, 2016
The emblematic venue started as a skating rink in 1884; a year later was called the Théâtre Français, for some time it
cinema competing with similar venues around the corner on St. Laurent. Spectra rescued the old but majestic facility, to be nowadays one of the favourite venues for concerts. In fact, it is ranked as number one in Canada and 13th on a list of 200 greatest concert clubs according to the industry magazine "Pollstar." It has occasionally been the place for political gatherings as well. The No side celebrated its referendum victory there in 1995, and when the PQ won the provincial election in 2010 its members By Sergio Martinez also met there (a tragic event happened that night when one lonely shooter mtltimes.ca tried to kill the then prewas a movie theatre, then mier-elect—instead, he a vaudeville place. perience" according to the press release issued by Spectra. Telus will invest more than 5 million dollars over the next ten years. The renovation of the site will take over a three-year period, and it would include a complete modernization of the lighting and sound systems as well as changes to the staging elements. The façade, an attractive feature of that section of Ste. Catherine St. will also change, becoming brighter and more accessible. Inside, the lobby and boxes would also be renovated. Jacques-André Dupont, CEO of Spectra, during the press conference praised the commitment
by Telus to this new venture and the importance of the partnership between "a leading company in the domain of new technologies; and Metropolis, the #1 venue in Canada" adding that "we have everything it takes to offer Montrealers the perfect gift." For his part, François Gratton on behalf of Telus indicated that "Montreal is renowned for its vibrant music scene and as an outstanding springboard for emerging artists." Then he finished by stating that "Together, we will ensure the cachet and integrity of the venue are preserved so that spectators, artists and performers alike can re-
discover the iconic space they have always loved." Of course, it is good news that this great concert venue is going to be refurbished without losing—as we were assured—its character and charm. But I'm sure many will feel like me regarding the loss of a name that evokes so many images and associations. Metropolis: the idea not only of a big city but also a lively one; the title of a classic silent-era movie by Fritz Lang with a dystopian plot; and—of course—the name of the city where Superman has his adventures. It won't have the same resonance to say, "I'm going to a concert at M Telus tonight."
11 Critical home inspection traps to be aware of weeks before listing your home for sale
MONTREAL - According to industry experts, there are over 33 physical problems that will come under scrutiny during a home inspection when your home is for sale. A new report has been prepared which identifies the eleven most common of these problems, and what you should know about them before you list your home for sale. Whether you own an old home or a brand new one, there are a number of things that can fall short of requirements during a home inspection. If not identified and dealt with, any of these 11 items could cost you dearly in terms of repair. That's why it's critical that you read this report before you list your home. If you wait until the building inspector flags these issues for you, you will almost certainly experience costly delays in the close of your home sale or, worse, turn
prospective buyers away altogether. In most cases, you can make a reasonable pre- inspection yourself if you know what you're looking for, and knowing what you're looking for can help you prevent little problems from growing into costly and unmanageable ones. To help home sellers deal with this issue before their homes are listed, a free report entitled "11 Things You Need to Know to Pass Your Home Inspection" has been compiled which explains the issues involved. To order a FREE Special Report, visit: www.montrealinspectionpitfalls.com Get your free special report NOW to learn how to ensure a home inspection doesn't cost you the sale of your home.

Here’s how to help Sun Youth during the holidays!
D
uring the holiday season, it is essential to show our solidarity with those who live in difficult times. For Sun Youth this means that thousands of Montreal families are counting on the generosity of the community to have enough food to prepare a good meal and offer new toys to their children. To help Sun Youth bring comforting light, here are different concrete and fun ways to give the next. If you are looking for a beautiful Christmas tree to decorate, you can find it at the old Sun Youth headquarters in the Plateau at the intersection Mont-Royal and Parc Avenue. The money collected goes towards helping others throughout the holidays. This year marks the 16th edition of the Media’s Big Food Drive;
the main event will take place on December 8th where members of the media will be collecting money and food at various intersections around Montreal for the benefit charities including Sun Youth. You can also donate food and money at Jean Coutu, Provigo and Maxi’s around the city. New this year, you can now make a donation by texting "Xmas" at 20222 and you can also find the closest drop off point to your house on line. Take a look at La Grande Guignolée des médias’ new web site. Café Ciociaro will be holding a benefit event on Friday, December 9th at 7:00 pm (8868 Boul Langelier, Saint-Léonard).This evening is a great opportunity to have fun and help people in the process. Tickets cost 20$ and they will also be col-
lecting non perishables food items. Don’t miss out on Martin Léon, accompanied by Louis-Jean Cormier show at the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church (309 Rachel East), on December 14th at 8 pm.The concert is for the benefit of the Robin des Bois Restaurant which supports organizations such as Sun Youth. At all times, you can become a Sun Youth Hero by dropping off food and new toys or money donation at Sun Youth’s Headquarters at 4251 Saint-Urbain Street! A small contribution can go a long way towards making someone’s life better. Don’t be shy to use the “hashtag” #SYhero to show us your contribution on social media and give an incentive for other people to do the same.

Solar Power vs Oil - A Slippery Slope
T
he human race is at a crossroad. We are at the intersection of renewable and non-renewable energy - and it is a slippery slope. It is a slope we have been climbing for decades as we feed our insatiable need for the energy and power to fuel our homes, vehicles and industries. And we are running out of resources and time. Solar power and oil are at the forefront of this junction, with other sources of energy becoming either too costly, impractical or with serious environmental impact. Sources like Coal, used in the generation of electric power, is clearly limited and its days are counted - besides being one of the single-most harmful pollutants in our world. Resources are estimated to be at over 847 billion tonnes, but according to the World Coal Association at the rate of our current production and consumption levels there is really just 118 years of coal electricity left at our disposal. And that can realistically become only 23 years with countries like China, India and the USA's economies growing at their present rate and global population expected to rise to 9 billion by 2050. Demand will simply exceed resources. Electricity from Wind Turbines, although a great advancement in renew-

able energy, require constant, expensive maintenance and are vulnerable to high winds and lightning. They also take up a lot of space - and generate a whole lot of noise. As far as electricity produced by Dams - they are extremely expensive to build (in the billions of dollars) and could take decades to construct, but once in operation they are very efficient and produce electricity at a very low cost. But there only so many rivers we could dam without causing irreversible environmental damage from the flooding and the millions of people who are displaced because of them. So what's left? Solar power or oil? Oil reserves are shrinking at an alarming rate. According to Industry experts, conventional global oil reserves have just enough to last until sometime near the mid 2050's or sooner - but could be extended if we see an increase in alternate energy sources. At offshore sites and deep underground in rock formations there is still a substantial amount of oil left, but it needs a highly significant amount of energy and time to produce. Searching for oil in the Arctic will take decades to find and develop - and will require a vast infrastructure to make possible. Unconventional

late and locate more than 900 earthquakes in the area. “That gave us the ability to image the fault structure… we could see that there were steeply dipping faults that extended from the injection level down into the Precambrian basement.” Eaton said the quakes were caused by 'stress changes on the rock from the pumping - when the pumping ended, the stress was reduced. But another other fault close to the site remained active for months. It is a very scary thought to think we are literally making the earth shake with our practices. But perhaps there is a ray of 'sunshine': Tesla, an American automaker and energy storage company recently announced a new Solar Roof Product, with the potential to shine a more positive light on our planet. The product is a roof tile made of a textured glass that looks just like ordinary shingles, but allow light to pass through onto a standard flat solar cell - which then transforms the light to produce enough electricity to power a home and an electric car.The new shingles will be expensive, at least when they first start producing them, costing close to twenty times more than standard asphalt shingles. But Tesla claims the
solar tiles will save money compared to installing a traditional roof - once you include the cost of buying electricity from the grid. The solar tiles, made of quartz, are apparently 'tough as steel' and can last a lifetime of abuse from the elements. They can also be 'fitted with heating elements to melt snow in colder climates'. “It’s never going to wear out,” CEO Elon Musk said. “It’s made of quartz. It has a quasi-infinite lifetime.” Much of the cost savings he said will also come from shipping the materials. 'Traditional roofing materials are brittle, heavy, and bulky. Shipping costs are high, as is the quantity lost to breakage. The new tempered-glass roof tiles weigh as little as a fifth of current products and are considerably easier to ship'. If Tesla's roof tiles prove to be as efficient as they say - and if the cost of Lithium-ion batteries that store solar energy continue to steadily drop, it could prove to be the brightest light. But energy from oil cannot be negated, at least not for now. Technological advances in renewable energy are more than promising, but until the products and infrastructure are in place we still need to power our world… while we navigate this slippery slope.

he list of festivities planned for next year's 375th anniversary of Montreal is adding more details about some of the specific events. Hockey, of course, is fundamentally linked to this city, and therefore it will have a prominent place in the celebration. Classique Montréalaise is the name chosen for a large hockey tournament with an expected participation of 500 players. According to the press release, "all participants are guaranteed at least two games." People can register online on the hockey tournament website and choose one of four categories: Competitive, Friendly, Women or 50+. The winning team in each category will score one hour of free ice time at the Bell Centre, home of the Montreal Canadiens. This event will take
place at the Olympic Basin located at the Jean Drapeau Park on January 28 and 29, 2017 (if the weather doesn't cooperate, the event will move to February 4 and 5). Former Canadiens player Patrice Brisebois has been designated spokesperson of the Classique Montréalaise. Now what the organizers expect is that by then, there will be many Montrealers ready to "don their borough's jersey and hit the ice on a dozen rinks on the Olympic Basin." They also promise that there will be "something for everyone at this fabulous line-up of hockey, performances, and animated family fun." For detailed information about all the events planned for the Hivernales, the winter festival that is part of Montreal's 375th-anniversary celebrations, go to:

Nestled in the quaint community Valois village of Pointe-Claire, this pilates studio is state-of-the art, with top notch instructors, and beneficial for fitness levels. spent teaching Pilates. You might also say that Pilates Fusion is a family owned and operated business. Both Clark’s daughter, Katherine Murray and son, Kyle Murray, have acquired fitness training and massage backgrounds and have developed their own passion for Pilates spending the past several years helping run the business as well as teach private sessions and semi-private classes at the studio. This year Pilates Fusion, has opened a second location just for men, only a few doors down the
street. “Pilates Fusion for Men, is a barriers-removed atmosphere for men to learn about Pilates and to change the stigma that Pilates is for women only.” Not only is Pilates beneficial for both men and women alike, but Clark also notes in a list of comparable benefits, the list is actually greater for men. Male athletes who practice Pilates can expect greater sport-specific performance results, including improved agility, quickness, and power. Active men can benefit from
correcting muscle imbalances, that may have been created in the gym or on the job, which can reduce chronic pain, improve fitness levels, aid in achieving health and fitness related goals, as well as rehabilitate and prevent injuries. For a sedentary lifestyle, Pilates can be a great starting point, as it focuses on using your muscles and breathing the “right way”, increasing efficiency in your movements and helping to create better mind and body awareness. It’s a great opportunity for anyone to get in a challenging workout by working smarter, not harder. The new Men’s Studio is a calm and relaxing space with state-of-the-
art equipment and top-ofthe-line fitness accessories. What also makes the men’s studio welcoming for it’s clients is the male instructors team led by Jim Roberts and Kyle Murray, all of whom are highly-experienced, certified in Stott Pilates. Whether you wish to train privately, semi-private, or within a class setting, Pilates Fusions offers many services to accommodate your training preferences. Classes are small and limited to 5 participants, which allows for greater one-on-one attention and an opportunity to learn and perform at the highest standards. Classes run in 8 week sessions, Monday through
Sunday. A typical Pilates class at the Men’s Studio may include, various movement/postural exercises that incorporate specialized equipment, such as the reformer and stability chair, along with various mat exercises with and without accessories. Pilates Fusion has a great reputation in the community, valued by their clients, and well-respected among their partners and industry peers. Pilates Fusion often sends and receives many client referrals through it’s partner network. One of the great perks of joining the studio, includes discount offers and access to VIP services with Medi-Club Physio, that offers services in sports medicine, osteopathy and wellness. Pilates Fusion Men’s Studio is located at 78 Donegani Avenue in Pointe-Claire, and the main studio at 60-C Donegani Avenue in Pointe-Claire. Visits to both studios are by appointment only. too much, not too little. It was a perfect start to our meal, and it went exceptionally well with the complementary Bruschetta. The service was fast and considerate, as we made our way to our main course. As I combined huge grilled shrimp in a spicy tomato sauce with a fantastic Arrabiata pasta, my friend combined an impressive portion of grilled vegetables with the Sea Bass, one of the owner’s highest recommended dishes. The shrimp were easily some of the largest shrimp I’ve ever had, and the spice level (as I requested) was spot on.The Sea Bass was perfect, and the accompanying separate plate of grilled vegetables, equally delicious. Other strong recommendations, from the owner of four years, were the lamb chops and
the Osso Bucco. On each table, a handy week menu, and a weekend menu available. Various pastas (stuffed and non stuffed), meats and fish, fill the simple but complete menu. The food was delicious, right down to the dessert options (a tiramisu and chocolate mascarpone) – both of which were selected and highly enjoyed. With Ukrainian and Moldovian influences in the kitchen, the food served here demonstrates a perfect balance of traditional and something more. Whether you come alone, or in a large

Saturday nights tend to fill up, so it is certainly encouraged that you reserve two to a few weeks in advance. Lunch menus are available, with reasonable prices and specials, similar to what is advertised and offered and other nights of the week.
There is a twenty space parking area, along with a terrace available in the summer. As someone who tends to prefer to stay in for Italian food (general pasta dishes),Trattoria Cinecitta is a central restaurant that would easily draw me out again and again, much like the returning family that we saw celebrating. Every aspect of our meal and the ambiance was perfect, right down to the hot soft bread rolls before our meal, and the coffee with dessert. Whether looking for something simple and intimate, or an event (complete with musical
options such as a violinist or a pianist), this fantastic spot comes highly recommended.

Choosing a personal trainer
P
ersonal trainers can be a great asset, but a bad trainer can do more harm than good. Follow certain rules to find the perfect trainer for your needs. Before we get started, please remember that a gym with no trainers is like a rolling car with no driver. Generally gyms or high end fitness centers allow you one free personal training session with a trainer upon joining or renewal. It is highly recommended. Whether your goal is general fitness or competition level, a trainer can build a program according to your needs. Start your search by visiting your local fitness centre. Enquire about personal trainers at the front desk. Hiring a personal trainer is a necessity rather than a luxury. It is like hiring a tennis instructor for tennis, golf instructor for golf and so on. If you First learn bad habits, it will be very hard to correct them. 1) Be certain about the certification. One of the most important aspects of finding the right trainer is ensuring that he or she is actually qualified

to do the job. There are plenty of certifications that are widely recognized. Also make sure the person had enough experience training people. A qualified trainer will have updated CPR and First Aid. 2) Know what motivates you Choose a trainer who will cater to your needs and learning preference. While some people want to be pushed to their limits by a drill sergeant type, others are going to work better with positive reinforcement and gentle encouragement. 3) Specialization Just like there is G.P. and Specialists in medicine, you have different trainers for different needs. If you want to better your golf game, you’ll choose a functional core training specialist rather than Olympic weight lifter. Not only will they have experience in the area, but chances are they will be more passionate about it. 4) Cost It can range vastly between trainers depending on their certification, credentials, experience etc. It also depends on your budget. You can also enquire about package deals
or semi-private sessions. 5) Reputation The best compliment a trainer can receive is word of mouth. Also, getting people to achieve their goals is the ultimate proof of competence and good trainers will be happy to share success stories, testimonials and references. Although you might be overwhelmed at the prospect of choosing a personal trainer, it is important to note that the criteria above are just guidelines. Look for a knowledgeable and experienced personal trainer who feels like the most natural fit. That is the one to hire because she or he will not only help you reach your goals, but will also keep you feeling comfortable, motivated and inspired throughout the process. You can make this goal a reality by calling us at (514) 489-6879 and we’ll guide you through this journey into fitness. Don’t hinder your success by procrastinating. ver wonder what it was like in the 1920’s when flapper girls were in style and Jazz was at the top of the charts? Well, there’s no need to wonder anymore. Montreal finally has a new supper club in town, and it’s the classiest one yet. Bord’Elle – Boutique Bar and Eatery located at 390 St-Jacques West in the heart of the Old Port is taking their customers back in time to a European-style boutique hotel, heavily influenced by the sounds and designs of the roaring twenties, where fashion was glam and everything was grand. Last week-end marked the grand opening of Bord’Elle, and it was definitely the place to be. John Edward Gumbley (Jon Jay) and his company JEGANTIC is to thank for the opening of Bord’Elle – Boutique Bar and Eatery. John, who has been in the nightlife scene in Montreal for over 15 years, is also a real estate developer, a franchise owner and runs a travel company. His desire for providing the city with rich music and entertainment is always at the forefront. So, what inspired John Edward Gumbley to create such a majestic location? Gumbley has been traveling to Europe every year for a couple of years now. When he went to Paris he knew he was
going to open some places in the upcoming years, however, he didn’t know what exactly. “I stayed at a couple boutique hotels in France on purpose and one of my inspirations for Bord’Elle came from the design of these places,” he says. The concept was to open a

Bord’Elle – Boutique Bar and Eatery is divided into three distinct areas: The Grand Foyer, the Whiskey Parlour and the Champagne Room. The Grand Foyer is the principle entrance, with lavish booths where they can grab a bite to eat and enjoy a cocktail. Customers will also notice the centerpiece, a grand, round bar offering delicious, infused cocktails. Here, customers can enjoy the relics of the Gin Bar, inspired by Spanish gin and tonic concoctions. I’ve owned a bunch of places and as I’m getting older and I’m noticing the new wave of clubs are mostly geared towards students, there is still a growing population of people in their late twenties and early thirties that want to have fun and have a real experience. I want to be the person to fill that void and by opening up a big supper club/night club experience, this demographic can finally let loose and have a good time.” The dinner service is

laid back and smooth with a new age raw bar that has many sharing options. Customers can expect tartars, tataki dishes and healthy and light options. The food is really different compared to other supper clubs. The tartar is fresh, and full of flavours. There is nothing on the menu that will leave you feeling too full to have a good time. I asked John how he can describe Bord’Elle – Boutique Bar and Eatery in one sentence. “A new-age take on a supper club that will redefine and elevate the scene in old Montreal, and the city itself once again.” What’s in a name? “A lot of French people say
that when a party is crazy, it’s going to be un bordelle. I wanted to add mystery and sex appeal as everyone knows what a bordelle is. The play on the spelling of the word is meant to define by her side, adding sex appeal and flare to the location. As for myself, I think Bord’Elle is a supper club with a 1920’s twist dedicated to cater a distinguished crowd, offering them an experience like no other. Every single detail of the location is intricate. A lot of money and patience was put into this project. It’s a 1920’s ball room come to life. Understanding the different types of intelligence
E
By Amos Tsay mtltimes.ca
ight years ago, we were in the process of hiring two programmers to write our SLE e-tutoring software, useful for the next twenty years. The test was given in two parts. The first part involved how in-depth the applicant’s knowledge was of the seven different kinds of programming languages. The second part involved how well he/she understood him/herself. One question that each applicant was asked was how many types of intelligence he/she possessed from the list created by Harvard professor Howard Gardner. http://www.cse.emory.edu/s ciencenet/mismeasure/genius/research02.html In general, most of the applicants knew their programming languages very well, but the types of intelligence that they possessed were minimal. This is extremely important as it will affect how well one works within a team. Howard Gardner has identified eight different types of intelligence that each individual has the capacity to possess. The idea of owning multiple intelligences is important because it allows for educators to identify differing strengths and weaknesses in students. In researching about intellectual brilliance, it was found that Howard Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligences
20
(1983) provides a greater alternative to the more popular IQ method. Summaries of the eight types of intelligence: 1. Visual/Spatial - Involves visual perception of the environment, the ability to create and manipulate mental images, and the orientation of the body in space. 2. Verbal/Linguistic - Involves reading, writing, speaking, and conversing in one's own or foreign languages. 3. Logical/Mathematical Involves number and computing skills, recognizing patterns and relationships, timeliness and order, and the ability to solve different kinds of problems through logic. 4. Bodily/Kinaesthetic - Involves physical coordination and dexterity, using fine and gross motor skills, and expressing oneself or learning through physical activities. 5. Musical - Involves understanding and expressing oneself through music and rhythmic movements or dance, or composing, playing, or conducting music. 6. Interpersonal - Involves understanding how to communicate with and understand other people and how to work collaboratively. 7. Intrapersonal - Involves understanding one's inner world of emotions and thoughts, and growing in the ability to control them and work with them consciously. 8. Naturalist - Involves understanding the natural world of plants and animals,
noticing their characteristics, and categorizing them; it generally involves keen observation and the ability to classify other things as well. Nowadays, there are another eight types of intelligence adapted by MBA programs and psychologists as described below: 1. EQ - Emotional quotient is the ability to identify, assess, and control the emotions of oneself, of others, and of groups. 2. AQ – Dr. Paul Stoltz defines adversity quotient as “the capacity of the person to deal with the adversities of his life. As such, it is the science of human resilience.” It tells how well one withstands adversity and his ability to triumph over it. 3. CQ – Creativity quotient or design intelligence. Creativity is a phenomenon whereby something new and valuable is created (such as an idea, a joke, a literary work, a painting or musical composition, a solution or an invention). 4. CI – Communication intelligence. CI can be described as the bridge between IQ and EQ and was defined by Alistair Gordon and Steve Kimmens in 2011 as "saying the right thing in the right way to the right people at the right time in a such a way that the message is received and understood as it was intended.” 5. CQ – Curiosity quotient is a term put forth by author and journalist Thomas L. Friedman as part of an illus-
trative formula to explain how individuals can be powerfully motivated to learn about a personally interesting subject, whether or not they possess a particularly high intelligence quotient (IQ). 6. PQ – Passion quotient.According to Friedman, passion and curiosity are key components for education in a world where information is readily available to everyone and where global markets reward those who have learned how to learn and are self-motivated to learn. 7. BI - Business intelligence is a set of theories, methodologies, architectures, and technologies that transform raw data into meaningful and
www.mtltimes.ca
useful information for business purposes. BI can handle large amounts of information to help identify and develop new opportunities. 8. CQ – Cultural quotient refers to cultural intelligence, and a simple definition is as follows: “The ability to adapt successfully to different national, organizational, and professional cultures.” Therefore, despite traditional thinking that having a high IQ is extremely important, more and more factors are being considered in the hiring process today. In the next article, we will provide students with the chance to test their intelligence, to
know more about themselves and their gifts such that they may figure out what kind of major or career they would like to pursue in the future. Ask the Elephants About Marula
T
By Martha Shannon mtltimes.ca
he Ancient Greek philosopher, Aristotle, once said that the elephant was "the animal which surpasses all others in wit and mind." So let us ask this intelligent animal that can identify languages, read our body talk, use tools to achieve a goal. Let us ask this elephant who can mourn their dead, mimic our voices, and have extraordinary memories. Let us ask the elephant about marula. The Marula tree (Sclerocarya birrea), a.k.a Elephant tree, Jelly Plum, Cider Tree, Marriage Tree, Cat Thorn and more, is native to the southern regions of Africa and the Sudano-Sahelian range in West Africa. The entire tree provides. The bark is used to treat many illnesses such as fever and malaria. The roots are used to treat sore eyes. The tree’s hard wood makes excellent kitchen utensils. You may be familiar with South African ‘Amarula Cream Liqueur’ made from the fruit. Or you may have heard of marula oil, which is now appearing in North America. The oil extracted from the kernels is traditionally used for cooking and for skin care and hair applications. Marula is used as massage oil on the face, feet and hands, and helps with dry, cracked skin. Its moisturizing properties are so effective it is used as a meat preservative and for treating leather. This fact alone
helps us to understand how magnificent marula would be on our own dry, cracked and aging skin. I wish we could ask the elephants the secret to wearing their wrinkled skin so proudly. Elephants love to eat the fruit of the marula tree. I want to ask them why they love the fruit so much and to please explain the legend surrounding marula and the ‘drunk’ elephants. The legend is ‘elephants that consume fermented marula fruit from the ground become ‘tipsy’. Another theory is the fruit ferments in the stomach and turns to alcohol, making the elephants appear ‘drunk’. Science does tell us that there is not enough ethanol in the fruit to get such a large body drunk, so we really do not know what happens. By the way, this behaviour is not common, but does make for good lore. What is the true marula quest for the elephant? I doubt they would deliberately eat something that would affect their ‘wit’. I like to think the elephant just knows the fruit is good for him. The highly nutritious kernels are rich in antioxidants. They are about 25 percent protein and contain calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium. They are loaded with protein and good fat, vitamin C and oleic acid. And marula, like all fruits, contains healthy fructose, the good sugar. So the elephants are onto something and we should listen. What is good to eat is good for the skin. We encourage you to ‘Feed Your
Skin’ marula oil. Marula • Is highly moisturizing because of its high Oleic acid content. • works wonderfully on dry and aging skin • helps repair sun-damaged skin. • contains Vitamin C, a potent collagen builder. • is a light oil, fast absorbing, and has a non-greasy texture. * is non-comedogenic (does not clog) and has anti-microbial properties which can help heal and reduce acne blemishes and scarring. We make a wonderful body oil blend with marula oil. Alongside avocado, tamanu and camellia, our ‘Spoil Me Body Oil’ does just that. 100% pure goodness. Without chemical additives that dry out and harm your skin, our oil nourishes. Unlike most commercial lotions or oils that need to be applied daily, our oil will moisturize for several days. It is a great all-over body conditioner, especially when you are in a hurry, because it is so fast absorbing. I know the marula contributes to that. Marula. Intoxicate your skin. Ask the elephants.
