Montreal’s Homegrown Rapper Mr. Bolly drops new single By: John Rizopoulos / mtltimes.ca

Homegrown West Island rapper Bharat Kapoor, known as Mr Bolly, triumphantly returned from Canada’s premier urban music festival. Over 30, 000 danced and rapped in Toronto’s popular Dundas square this past June 3rd. The desiFEST is a not-for-profit, grassroots organization established to foster and grow the large South Asian Arts Community in Toronto and across Canada. Since inception, desiFEST has expanded to include Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver. We have also showcased artists from across Canada, UK, US, India, and Pakistan. We take pride in showcasing Canadian talent in the core of our city at Yonge-Dundas Square. desiFEST have helped over 300 artists and bands to gain exposure, collaborate on new

music and strengthen the community.

Upon Mr Bollly’s return, the stage is now set for this first single release and upcoming album drop.’’Everyday’’

The concept of "Everyday” came from all the obstacles encountered on his journey towards his musical career and the process of self-discovery. The life of any artist in general is a hard one and he wanted to discuss the effects that all the struggles and pains had on him mentally and spiritually. The truth is, if you want to achieve anything in life, you have to go for it “everyday", no matter how hard the uphill battle may seem.

Mr. Bolly exemplifies the triumph of achieving something by working hard daily to realize his dream of being an MC or Personality. Through the song he wants to give other artists a message that in order to rise you have to stay on top of it and keep practising all the time while your awake or while you are asleep . Not missing a beat he has accomplished a whole lot in a span of 12 months, doing 25 shows throughout the province of Quebec, and it has opened up lanes for him to cross over into other territories outside of his local platform. The chemistry between him and Voyce* is undeniable on this Hip Hop RnB concoction. Voyce* brings that smooth buttery soul and provides a great backdrop for Bolly to explain what and how he stays on top of his game “everyday" . It is a great message for up and coming artists‌ they must stay on top of their dreams daily! Creativity is one thing that is not missing on this artistic adventure and the contrast between Mr. Bolly 4

and Voyce* elevates the storyline and narrative to new heights. Everyday is a dedication and a great ode to all the hard work and a great reminder to why he started making music in the first place . Always hustling and grinding and believing in their music is why these two artists have been recently pushed to the forefront.

The song was composed and produced by Sorin Pavelesco on behalf of BTB music and the single is launched by Grace Grall Records in Zurich Switzerland. The video was filmed and directed by Burim Salhi as a Oborino Pictures Exclusive , Executive produced by Ricky Dietl . Filmed in Bern , Zurich , Thun , Montreal . Model/Actress Silvana Sanchez . Extra footage by Alex Pacifici , Music Engineer Sukhdev Benning Published by Grace Grall and BTB music.

Three brothers in Shanghai have designed and created the solution to the discomfort all suitwearing men suffer. The X SUIT, also known as “the suit of the future,” is stain, odour, and wrinkle resistant, and—most importantly—comfortable. It looks like a regular suit, but the unique fabric offers unparalleled comfort.

The idea for the X SUIT sparked when Max Perez worked in a night club and studied fashion in school. “I had to wear a suit every night. I just wanted to take my

www.mtltimes.ca

blazer off because it was so uncomfortable,” he said. “I couldn’t move freely.”

Unhappy with the suits on the market, and positive that others suffered from similar discomfort, Max approached his brothers with his idea. Nathaniel and Reoven Perez have a combined 30 years of experience in fashion manufacturing. They have worked with designer brands like Zara, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, and Hugo Boss.

After the brothers created a design for the X SUIT, an American tech company helped them create their unique fabric: liquid repellant and wrinkle resistant (X Shield®), and anti-microbial (X Membrane®), along with stretch comfort. Four-way stretch, to be exact. An elasticized lining and Tensile Thread allows the X SUIT to offer mobility and durability. The X SUIT’s durable material also makes the suit easier to care for, and easier to manage while travelling. It can be rolled and folded into any bag, or worn for days without smelling or wrinkling. There is no downside to “the suit of the future.” Style is just as important to the brothers as function, especially with their fashion backgrounds. So far, they have created two styles for men to choose from. “The way that we designed the X suit was to fit a broad audience of men,” Perez said. “We have one option with a hood and zippers for the young man buying their first suit, and a classic corporate style for the business man looking for comfort.”

The brothers can’t get enough of the suits they’ve created. “My brother has been working in our office wearing our pants and blazer,” Perez said. “He told me that he can’t go back to a regular suit because it is so uncomfortable in comparison.”

The X SUIT is currently available on Kickstarter. They raised $111 000 in their first week. The initial goal was only $50 000. The brothers have just under 30 days left on Kickstarter. All suits purchased through Kickstarter will be shipped in October. Worldwide shipping is available, with free shipping to 40 countries.

1201 Guy Street, Montreal 3300 Sources Blvd., Pointe-Claire

“We have a total of fourteen sizes,” Perez said. The X SUIT comes in sizes X-SM to XX-L, with the option of regular or long pant leg and slim or classic fit. The X SUIT will only be available online, so the brothers have created a 20-question questionnaire helps men figure out their appropriate size. Free returns as well as extra stretch thread for tailoring are available.

The X SUIT will retail for $399 for the two pieces together. Through Kickstarter, a 25% percent discount is applied to the X SUIT, so they are $299. Purchase your X SUIT through Kickstarter in the next few weeks to be one of the first men wearing “the suit of the future.” xsuit.com

A new report has been prepared which identifies the eleven most common of these problems, and what you should know about them before you list your home for sale. Whether you own an old home or a brand new one, there are a number of things that can fall short of requirements during a home inspection. Christine Jensen have been touring the world together melding rich melodies with flourid improvisations in a way that communicates beyond the telepathic. They both have had individually illustrious careers, with Ingrid tearing up the New York jazz scene with her effortless trumpet mastery, and Christine intertwining composition and saxophone performances with Montreal’s creative music scene.

Wayne Shorter, Maria Schneider and Kenny Wheeler come to mind.” – Downbeat. Mentored by Clark Terry, Ingrid leads her own quartet out of New York, as well being heard as a guest artist and soloist with many ensembles, including Terri Lynn Carrington’s Grammy-Award winning Mosaic Project and Darcy James Argue’s critically acclaimed Secret Society. She has consistently been rated one of the top 10 jazz trumpet players by both the Downbeat Critics and Readers polls for the last decade.

Christine currently leads her own jazz orchestra as well as other diverse ensemble projects featuring her saxophone playing. Les Jeux de la rue de l’Ouest-de-l’Île is back for a seventh year WEDNESDAY

www.mtltimes.ca

WEDNESDAY

July 5, 2017

– For a seventh year in a row, AJOI is currently preparing Les Jeux de la rue de l’Ouest-de-l’Île. Les Jeux de la rue de l’Ouest-deÎle is held annually and consists of recreational (sports and cultural) events. The winning teams of the preliminary sports competitions that will be held at the end of July will represent the West Island at the regional competitions of Les Jeux de la rue.

WEDNESDAY

AJOI’s mission is to establish and maintain outreach street work intervention to at-risk youth, aged from 12 to 25 years in the West Island of Montreal. Since 2007, AJOI has been offering services ranging from listening and support to resources and referrals for youth facing different issues: homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction, poverty, mental and physical health challenges, judiciary problems, psychological distress, etc. The recreational activities component adds to the outreach street work component of the organization. Community activities are a powerful tool, providing opportunities to make contact with the youth of the community. The activities offered by AJOI in the framework of community activity, allows the outreach street workers to create relationships with the at-risk youth. The recreational activity and the outreach street work are in sync and in the same intervention continuum, the outreach street workers refer youth to community activities. They both pursue the same objectives; allowing at-risk youth to value themselves all while fulfilling themselves in activities which are alternatives to delinquency and to crime with the presence of adults and also providing them a sense of empowerment leading towards independence. The basketball competition of the 2017 edition of Les Jeux de la rue de l’Ouest-de-l’Île will start at 10:00 AM on July 22nd 2017 at Parc Alexander (Pierrefonds). The soccer competition will start at 10:00 AM on July 29th 2017 at Parc Grier (Pierrefonds). Regional finals will be held August 16th at Parc Jarry, starting at 9:00 AM. For more information about the project, citizens can contact Carine, AJOI coordinator of the recreational activities, at 514-546-2270.

For the past seven years, AJOI has offered free recreational activities in the West Island of Montreal, throughout the year. The AGSport project, funded by the borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro, Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation and Employment and Social Development Canada, aims to offer free sports activities via open gyms during the school year, and Les Jeux de la rue de l’Ouest-de-l’Île during the summer period. The community activities offered by AJOI respond to a glaring need that youth can fulfill in their neighbourhood in offering them a place for recreational activities. They offer an alternative to delinquency and crime to marginalized, underprivileged youth between the ages of 12 and 30 years old in the West Island, who are excluded from regular sports networks as well as youth from cultural communities. The idea being to promote the different services and activities offered in the West Island, the community activities also allows AJOI to rally the youth who participate to be active and to make appropriate and positive use of public installations. All in allowing the expression of the physical and artistic skills of the participants, this approach favours the development and blooming of the social and personal skills of participating youth. The hiring of 10 park animators for the summer will let AJOI pursue this beautiful initiative again this year.
