Free Report Reveals How to Avoid Getting Stuck Owning Two Homes

June 6, 2018

MONTREAL - West Island - Every month, thousands of homeowners are faced with the stressful dilemma of whether to buy first or sell first. You see, if you buy before selling, you could run the risk of owning two homes. Or, just as bad, if you sell first, you could end up homeless. It's what insiders in the industry call the Real Estate Catch 22, and it's an extremely anxious position to find yourself in. This financial and emotional tightrope is one you usually have to walk alone because most agents have no way of helping you with this predicament. But one local realtor is using a unique Guaranteed Sale Program which solves this dilemma. This program guarantees the sale of your present home before you take possession of your new one. If your home doesn't sell in 120 days, they will buy it from you themselves for the previously agreed price ensuring that you never get caught in the Real Estate Catch 22. Before you hire any professional, you should research the market to find out who can do the best job for you. When interviewing agents, find out what kind of guarantee they are willing to give you with respect to the selling of your home. Unfortunately, you'll find that most agents simply cannot make such a guarantee. To help you learn more about this program and how it can make your move less stressful, a FREE special report has been prepared entitled "How to Avoid Getting Stuck with Two Homes". To order a FREE Special Report, visit www.WestislandGuaranteedSold.com or to hear a brief recorded message about how to order your FREE copy of this report call toll-free 1-800-727-7105 and enter 3005. You can call any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Get your free special report NOW to find out how to guarantee the cash sale of your home.

ART

Exhibition: Paying Tribute to Frida Khalo By: Elsa- Maret / mtltimes.ca

ART – Frida Khalo was a Mexican artist who painted numerous amounts of portraits, self-portraits and other works inspired by nature and Mexico. Mostly inspired by her native country’s popular culture, she adopted a naïve folk art style to help her explore questions surrounding identity, gender, class, post-colonialism and race in Mexican society. Frida Khalo described her art and paintings as surrealist and magical realist. Her work and message today is more important than ever, as it represented a sense of freedom and justice in a corrupted world. On June 7th 2018, there will be an exhibition too pay

tribute to Frida Khalo at the Gallery L’Artiste. The exhibition will take place between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm and is completely FREE to join. Various artists, including Lyne Rheault, Nacy Letourneau, Sylvie Demers, Marielle Robichaud, Susana Antunes, Nancy Lessard, Chantal Lapierre, Veronica Dragnef, Stephanie Heendrickxen, Christine Nadeau and Melissa Wilcox will be paying tribute to her through their art. International March For the Closing of Slaughterhouses MONTREAL - Animal rights and animal welfare is something dear to many people’s hearts, and so marching for their rights is just part of making a difference. On June 16th 2018, Montreal will be having a march for the closing of slaughterhouses at the Square SaintLouis, right next to the Sherbrooke metro station. This is a chance to have your voice heard and to break the silence of those who cannot speak up for themselves. This march is an international event taking place all around the world, including Paris, Melbourne, 12

Helsinki, Tokyo, Boston, just to name a few. This march aims to recognise that all forms of oppression are interconnected. Marchers oppose the capitalist logic of commodification of human and nonhuman life and are committed to fighting racism, sexism and ableism in solidarity with their fellow political activists. If you wish to join the march or simply watch it from a distance, click here for more information on their official Facebook page. For the official Montreal website, click below.

Nike Training Club App: Get Fit From the Comfort of Your Own Home

SPORTS- Not everyone has extensive free time to go to the gym and workout for hours, I certainly don’t. On top of that, a gym membership often costs a lot of money and you need to stay motivated to make it worth it. I believe that doing a physical activity is beneficial to not only your physical health but your mental health as well. However, I’ve always struggled to find a sport which I actually enjoy doing, something that I am motivated to keep up every day. A few months ago, I downloaded the “Nike Training Club App”, in the hope that it would help me stay motivated and get fitter. Well it did exactly that. I never loved fitness apps before, because they always end up charging you for extra workouts, or run adds and it just lead me to delete the app days after having first tried it. However, “Nike Training Club App” does not have any hidden costs, it’s completely FREE to use, so you can try out any workout plan on it. Best of all, they not only have a list of various workouts targeting different areas of your body, but you can create a plan for yourself by filling out a questionnaire. The app automatically chooses workouts specially designed for you that will

target the areas you want to work on. Simply follow the plan day by day, and you’ll see the results ! “Nike Training App” offer over 175 different free workouts, ranging from strength and endurance to mobility and yoga classes featuring Nike’s world-class trainers. What I personally love about the app is the personal plan, which helps me have structure in my workouts and know exactly what I’m supposed to do, how I’m supposed to do it and when. The app keeps track of your progress and synchronises it with the health app on your iPhone, so you can really be in the loop about your health and fitness. “Nike Training Club” also features a “feed”, which shares articles on how to stay motivated or tips and tricks on how athletes like to prepare for a competition. There is also an “events” section, which lets you find Nike events all around the world to help you stay motivated and connected with likeminded people. To workout with Nike Training Club, you don’t need any extra material, just your home, or even outdoors, and a little bit of motivation!

The Pioneer Bar - From Iconic Landmark to Condos? By: Bonnie Wurst / mtltimes.ca

The building where the Pioneer Bar and Restaurant on Lakeshore Road in Pointe Claire is located, has been an iconic presence in the village since the early 1900's, but it has been sold and could soon be turned into a condo development. Diane Marois, the present owner of the Pioneer said although the deal still needs to be finalized, the new owner has plans to build 15 condos, three townhouses, four commer-

cial storefronts and an underground parking lot. The building was actually a hotel in the 1880s and after a fire destroyed most of the village, the current structure housing the Pioneer was built in 1901. It's had many incarnations since then, but in 1979 it became the Pioneer, then they changed the name to Clyde’s and back to the Pioneer in 2011.

It has remained a landmark ever since, where many memories have been shared over pitchers of beer with sandwiches or hamburgers and fries. The wooden walls resonate with the sounds of all the bands who rocked the place over the years. It has become run-down and in need of some serious tender-loving care, but it still holds its charm and remains close to the hearts of those young and old who have spent many an evening there to unwind after a long work day or just lean back, watching the scene and listening to the music while others cut loose to the beats. Most local residents see the place as a blight on the landscape and feel the Pioneer's days have to come to an end and would welcome the condo development.

www.mtltimes.ca

WEST ISLAND

Others see it as a treasure and want to save the place. Some residents have already started an online petition against the rumoured demolition of the building, stating 'the decision would ruin the face of the village' and more than 500 people (and growing) have already signed it. According to Michel Forest of the Pointe-Claire Historical Society, the city has yet to receive any demolition requests for the building and when they do, they will post a sign in front of the building and then hold public consultations. Should the Pioneer and the building be saved - or has it seen its days and time to move on? 19
