right decision. After all the end result remains the same and that is to generate useful information on consumer attitudes, behavior and preference to identify and define marketing opportunities and problems. Now with online surveys, easily accessible, people are more enabled to collect data. So why should it be any different for your in store promotion. In the past we would send our promotional representatives into the supermarkets and have them interact with prospective customers. Then await their feedback and make a report. Today we need not rely on that. Instead the reps are equipped with iPads and customized feedback forms which are faster, cheaper and much more reliable. This allows for information directly from consumers and eliminates the point of view of the representatives and rules out bias.

Furthermore keep your business to yourself. Now that we have a Gossip Specialist we wouldn’t want your personal life in the Monday morning newsletter now would we.

#5: Blame Game Extraordinaire You know the accountability and responsibility notice that’s now printed on the notice board in each department? Well a confrontation with this guy is what got it there. The inability to accept responsibility for one’s actions tied to the being the first to pass off the blame gets this person carded the Blame Game Extraordinaire. Dealing with this One Speak up once you are being blamed. But first ensure your work is straight; you can’t afford to slip up with this one. Saw the sign?

There still isn’t any now that you are working under the bully. Hopefully you are a little taller now because its time to find your backbone. Speak up in your meetings, take credit where you deserve it and dish a little of that wit right back at him/ her when it comes your way. Tom Hiddleston once said “We all have two lives. The second one starts when we realize we only have one.” So here you are, what’s it going to be for the rest of your life?

Zero Cholesterol Friday Goes Viral As Soyfresh is

Launched with a Bang! ‘Have a Zero Cholesterol Friday’ was the message delivered by Soyfresh’s Brand Manager Candice Minott across the various PR channels leading up to its much anticipated product launch. The unique non-dairy milk alternative was launched to the public as the newest addition to the distribution portfolio of World Brands Services, a Division of Grace Kennedy Foods & Services Limited on August 15th. The launch was quite a hit at the Knutsford Court Hotel as host Kamila McDonald cheered the activities to many intrigued patrons and distinguished guests. As folks chowed down on a catered spread made with the Soyfresh product, others got their relaxation on with the featured SPA masseuse and portable massage chairs perfectly suited for the brands health, fitness and wellness campaign. Not to be outdone by the other activities, organizers recreated a GYM in addition, and featured instruments that patrons were able to test out. Also featured at the launch were a plethora of health enthusiast speakers with the Keynote speaker Mr. Dennis Chung, CEO of the PSOJ and author of Achieving Life’s Equilibrium: Balancing health, wealth and happiness for optimal living, a book inspired by his experiences.

Mr. Chung an avid fitness enthusiast used in his presentation to patrons, his many life experiences and of those around him to form the basis of his guide, significance and outcry for healthy living. Calling on its importance he touched his audience with stories of both concern and of triumph. “We sacrifice health in search of wealth and chased health with the wealth” reasoned Mr. Chung. Chung’s message fit the Soyfresh glove and hit home in rallying patrons about the importance of taking control of one’s health and placing it above our value of wealth. The brand which is exceptional in taste, is specially formulated for consumers who like the taste of milk but are lactose intolerant, people who are concerned about their cholesterol intake; or people who prefer a vegetarian diet. The day had its own interactive feel and had many activities and scores of discerning patrons enjoyed the interesting shift from the normative product launch. Monumental Partners Limited, Marketing Consultants to World Brands Services recreated the portions of the brand’s target market by incorporating their interests in the elements. Thus the launch featured wow factor elements, such as a SPA, provided by SPA Aesthique, a Gym by Core Fitness Studios, an energetic dance performance by Zumba instructor Franci Griffiths of Chai Studios. The brand had their very own Soyfresh Café created specifically for the launch to showcase the extent of the product, which was a hit with patrons. The flavors of Soyfresh including Malt, Cappuccino, Strawberry and Chocolate were included in different recipes to demonstrate the power of the flavors. Patrons enjoyed Sweet Potato & Pumpkin Bisque, Orange-Pineapple Bread Pudding

with the Soyfresh products. On hand were the super fit and super ready for anything, Soyfresh brand representatives showing off their healthy skin and body in cycling outfits just sexy enough. As keepsakes, patrons were gifted Soyfresh recipe cards featuring six recipes to take home and try out, samples of the brands line of flavors and a plethora of premiums all associated with health, wellness and fitness activities. As scores of patrons enjoyed in addition to the Soyfresh Café, the Soyfresh smoothies, out and about in this crowd were members of the GK executives, Ms. Andrea Coy – Senior General Manager for Global Category Management Unit, Tamara GarelThompson – General Manager for World Brands Services, Dr. Warren Blake – President of the Jamaica Athletic Administrative Association who accepted for the JAAA a donation of Two hundred thousand from World Brands Services towards the Athletes Wellness Program. Also present were Patrick Lee, Director of Lees Food Fair, Arthur Smith – Assistant General Manager at Pricemart, Craig Robinson Divisional General Manager of Sampars Cash and Carry just to name a few. Coming out to show support was Mr. Lee Chee Bun and Mr. Kent Lim who journeyed from Malaysia, home of the Soyfresh brand to launch under the new distributors. The

Senior Export Manager, Mr. Lee Chee Bun presented on Ace Canning Corporation’s operation in Malaysia and introduced the Soyfresh product, its nutritional value and the direction of the brand. Newly appointed Brand Manager Candice Minott formally introduced the brand under World Brand Services and spoke further to the direction of the product in the local market, its marketing vision and the goals to build on its fifteen year history in Jamaica. Amongst the highlights from her speech was her crowd favored suggestion to ‘Make Friday, a Zero Cholesterol Day’ with Soyfresh. This guided by the principle of taking small steps to a healthier lifestyle.

Showing full support was Dr. Tamu Davidson Saddler, Director of Chronic Diseases and Injury Surveillance, representing the Minister of Health and commenting on the Minister’s drive to increase healthy lifestyle and reduce non-communicable diseases which are as a result of poor lifestyle choices. Dr. Saddler informed the audience of Jamaica’s high counts of obesity and drew for reference to the Soyfresh brand as a product of choice to reduce these levels of obesity through healthy consumption. All in all the Soyfresh launch was successful with all major press and publications featuring the many activities in the newscasts. And of course no one could stop buzzing about the healthiest beverage in town.

7 TRAITS

OF A NATURAL BORN MARKETING AGENT need for guidance. This is a strong Eloquence is key. Think of Bill 1. Rainmaker quality when it comes to finding Clinton. As a republican you’re Who is the rainmaker? The man who makes it happen and all with nothing but the bad rush of cards he’s been dealt. Nonetheless he pulls it off. As an all rounder, the rainmaker knows a little something about everything and patiently waits for his moment to trounce and present the winning idea.

2. Resourceful

This gives them the edge. That is their ability to think quickly on their feet and come up with strong alternatives. This includes devising new approaches to marketing and business development.

3. Always Takes the Initiative A forward thinker will always be ahead of the game. One who can see opportunities before anyone else around them and goes straight after them without

the right angle and time to make your pitch.

4. Sociable

This is a given. To be a good marketer you need to be able to fit in with people from all walks of life. In short you must be an extrovert. And one that’s equipped with the knowledge not just of your product but its competitors and the industry at large.

5. Passionate Never underestimate the power of

passion and enthusiasm. It’s true what they say it isn’t work if it’s loved. Additionally if the person you’re selling your product to, sees you’re passionate about the product you’re most likely to assure the minds of your buyers.

6. Effective Speaker

not hearing any noise – boring and forceful message thrown your way - and his speeches are interesting! He’s able to sell you snow at the North Pole. Though an effective speaker isn’t necessarily a good conversationalist (and you need to be both) you should be able to speak clearly, be pleasant and hide your persuasion beneath your charm.

7. The Expert

No matter what, you must be an expert in something. And it’s best if you are an expert in addition to the product/service you’re trying to market. You never know when this knowledge is going to be called upon but when it is, it will be of the highest value when the situation presents itself.
