INTERACTIVE HANDS-ON FUN AT THE CATALYST SCIENCE DISCOVERY CENTRE AND MUSEUM

Catalyst makes science exciting and fun for everyone. The ground floor interactive gallery is home to a host of hands-on exhibits; film in their TV studio, create an animation, make a marble run, test the scarf shooter and more! Enjoy panoramic views across Cheshire from the rooftop Observatory Gallery or visit their historical Birth of an Industry and Baker Galleries. Over the holidays, visitors can build bridges in their hands-on workshops or see exciting demonstrations in their family show using a Van der Graaff generator, a plasma ball and an IR camera! With longer, brighter days comes the joy of escaping into nature with the kids for outdoor adventures. Dunham Massey, Lyme and Quarry Bank are celebrating the arrival of spring with a selection of events and happenings perfect for family days out. Throughout the Easter holidays (1st –16th April), all three locations are running Easter Adventures, each with a different theme; and between 24th – 30th April, creative and reflective events highlight the beauty of seasonal blossom. There’s also kite-flying, exhibitions, and the chance to step into historic houses and buildings. For full event listings, visit the National Trust website and search the name of each place. Take by wearing wings and completing exciting challenges to earn stars. Along the way, they can use magic glasses to search for hidden letters. Once the trail is completed, children can take a selfie with Zog, do a crayon rubbing and earn a certificate. The trail and accompanying app, which is free to download, encourages kids to connect with nature and playfully explore while also providing bonus activities like a roar-ometer, a dance challenge and the opportunity to become Zog.
