Courses for Adults NEW Automotive - Wheels and Tires

After this class, students will be able to: identify various parts of a tire and their purposes, have a better understanding of what to look for when purchasing tires, inspect their tires for any flaws or damage, plug and patch a tire, identify the correct tire pressure for their vehicle, check and set the pressure in their tires, change their tire to a spare tire and back to the full-size tire using the equipment supplied with their vehicle.

Many people have never even started a fire before... and now more than ever, it's important to know not only how to start a fire, but how to control it. Whether you are afraid to try, afraid to fail or just have never been given the opportunity, we're here to alleviate all of your worries and give you the tools & knowledge you need to get a fire started, keep it sustained and stay safe doing it. There will be a good mix of instruction and hands on experience to make sure everyone walks away with some serious fire building skills and your very own fire starter kit. Historic River Walk Join Mark Peihl, archivist at the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County, for this informative walk along the Red River. Check out the historic sites, including the steamboat landing and remnants from the riverfront saloons. Put on your walking shoes for this two mile trek on the bike trails by the river. NEW Raising Chickens 101 Interested in raising chickens? You will learn the basics of caring for chickens and how to overcome the obstacles. Topics include feed, housing and equipment, as well as general breed and egg information. Join Judy Hansen, who has raised chickens for over 12 years, is a Licensed Veterinary Technician, MN Grown Producer, Registered with the MN Dept of Agriculture, and a MN Certified Poultry Testing Agent, for this engaging discussion.

We want to help you love winter like we do! What you'll learn: layering for winter activities, shelter needs & techniques, sleeping below zero, general tips & tricks for success and survival. Living with the frigid temperatures here in the FargoMoorhead Community it's important for us to have the knowledge necessary for us to not only survive winter, but to truly enjoy it.
