Coding Club with Cook (Grades 5 and 6) Calling all 5th and 6th graders interested in coding. Spend time coding with and without technology. Learn to create block coding as well as set up codes for robots such as Ozobots and Ollies. Intro to Ninja (Ages 5-13) Learn the basics of how to begin competing and practicing in ninja. Whether you are interested in competition or mastering obstacles this is the perfect introduction to being a ninja. Our instructors adapt the training to the different skill levels of each ninja, so each will have the optimal training experience. Competition will take place in the last class session. Rec Team is the perfect segue into our other team and practicing options. Crochet Club (Grades 5-8) Over four weeks, we will learn the basics of crochet: cast on, single crochet stitch, reading a pattern and binding off. By the end of the fourth week, you will have created your very own Chromebook cover. Horizon Chess Club (Grades 5-8)
Art Around the World (Grades 1-4) Paint, cut, color and learn about the world around you. Students will learn about the characteristics of the six main ecosystems on this lovely planet we call home: rain forests, arboreal forests, deserts, tundra, grasslands and oceans. Each week we will be creating art to showcase what we’ve learned about the plants and animals in each ecosystem. Chess Club is open to all Horizon students, regardless of skill level. We welcome you whether you are a skilled player who wants to sharpen your skills; you just enjoy playing the game and don’t wish to compete; or you’re a beginner who wants to learn how to play the game.
