Calling all budding journalists….

Do you have what it takes to write a feature for Oke Links?

Here at Oke Links we’re aware that young people in Okehampton sometimes get a ‘bad press’ and we want to change that by giving them their own voice in the magazine.

So we’re running a competition for 11-18 year olds to write a 500 word feature under the heading ‘Young At Heart’, to highlight what life is like for you and your age group in this town and its surrounding parishes.

And the winner will see their work published in the next issue! Don’t forget to include two or three photos to illustrate your feature (making sure you’ve got permission for them to be printed).

The entries will be judged by Oke Links editor, Emma Messenger, and publisher, Tim Randell, Jane Fryer, a lead feature writer on the Daily Mail.

Send your entries in to Emma Messenger - emma.messenger@ linksmagazines.co.uk - by Friday 27 January.

We can’t wait to hear what you’ve got to say. So get writing - and don’t forget to have fun with it!

For full details got to www.linksmagazines.co.uk

The feature could be a first person piece about you, or you could interview your friends or introduce us to an inspirational teacher or youth leader. Perhaps you’ve got an exciting hobby or a gripping story to tell.

Think carefully about the Oke Links readers. What do you think would interest them? What might surprise them? What don’t they know about the experience of being a young person in Okehampton?
