After 5 years Breguet introduces new Classique Grandes Complications 5637 The inventor of the tourbillon regulator is introducing its Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Automatique in a “Grand Feu” enamel version. This watch provides a beautifully simple interpretation of the tourbillon, which reigns supreme on a minimalist dial. Pared-down to its bare essentials, the unmistakable sheen of grand feu enamel is adorned only by the essentials: hour and minute hands, a tourbillon carriage with small seconds and Breguet numerals. Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Automatique 5367 Unlike the previous Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat, introduced in 2013, there is no power reserve indicator on this new edition. The hand-bevelled tourbillon bar is dopped by a blue spinel, matching the blued steel Breguet hands. The in-house movement, Caliber 581, features a patented high-energy barrel to maximize Movement energy retention. Mechanical self-winding, extra-thin (3 mm) Caliber 581, frequency Case 4Hz with high-energy barrel, Platinum or 18k rose gold, 42mm diameter mounted on roller bearings, inverted and 7.45 mm thickness. Welded lugs with lateral lever escapement with silicon screw-secured bars. Water-resistant to 3 bar horns. Tourbillon with titanium (30 m/100 ft) Dial carriage. 80-hour power reserve Grand Feu enamel, signed Breguet. Chapter Functions ring with Breguet Arabic numerals. Breguet Hours, minutes and seconds on the open-tipped hands in blued steel tourbillon axis Bracelet/strap At the crossroads of culture and innovation, all the splendour of truly exceptional horology A symbol of historical and cultural heritage and technological avant-garde, Breguet has consistently exercised a powerful fascination through innovation. From the tourbillon to the gong spring - Breguet inventions have made an imprint on the history of Fine Watchmaking since 1775. To this day, the Manufacture faithfully perpetuates the exceptional heritage bequeathed by its founder, as it continues to offer ever more fascinating timepieces combining technical complications and pure, refined aesthetics. In 2011 Breguet launched the Classique Hora Mundi 5717, the first mechanical watch in horological history to feature an instant-jump time-zone display. In 2013, the Manufacture presented the Classique Chronométrie 7727, the first mechanical watch equipped with a magnetic pivot.

MANERO TOURBILLON DOUBLE PERIPHERAL WORLD FIRST Technical Innovation by Bucherer

World first doubble peripheral tourbillon is set in a case of 18k rose gold, 43.1 mm, with thickness of 11.57 mm, the convex sapphire crystal has anti-reflective coating on both sides. Water-resistant to 30 metres (3 bar/100 ft) Dials are silver-coloured with applied rose gold plated indexes. Hand-stitched Louisiana alligator leather strap is closed with 18k rose gold folding pin buckle.

CALIBRE T3000, WITH SILICON COMPONENTS AND A STOP-SECONDS FUNCTION, IS ONE OF THE FEW TOURBILLON MOVEMENTS ON THE MARKET TO BE OFFICIALLY COSC CHRONOMETER-RATED. MOVEMENT MECHANICAL AUTOMATIC CFB T3000, COSC-CERTIFIED CHRONOMETER, 32 JEWELS, 65-HOUR POWER RESERVE.

Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral The tourbillon calibre CFB T3000 is a world premiere. It is a continuation of Carl F. Bucherer’s pioneering role in the development of peripheral technology. The new movement, with a patent for the peripheral winding mechanism and a pending patent for the tourbillon, combines a peripheral rotor with a peripherally mounted tourbillon mechanism that seems to float freely. The carriage, rather than rotating on a centre ruby bearing, is supported peripherally by 3 ceramic ball bearings, allowing the tourbillon to be admired from both front and the back. Carl F. Bucherer’s patented peripheral unidirectional rotor allows for a completely open view of the movement through the sapphire back, the tourbillon appears to float, but is actually mounted peripherally. A world first developed exclusively by Carl F. Bucherer.

Patented winding system moves with peripherally suspended rotor that is mounted with three ceramic ball bearings, on shock absorbing springs. 1-minute tourbillon with peripherally mounted rotating carriage mounted on three ceramic ball bearings

WORLD TIME MINUTE REPEATER REF. 5531R Patented Masterpiece by Patek Philippe

In July 2017, on the occasion of its 4th Grand Exhibition, Patek Philippe launched the world premiere of the 5531R World Time Minute Repeater, a limited series of 10 watches. This model is now an integral part of the brand's collection. It combines two grandes complications: the minute repeater and world time. As a result, its world time minute repeater always chimes the local time wherever you are, unlike other watches of this type, which chime the time in your home country. Movement Ultra-thin automatic self-winding mechanism, caliber R 27 HU, 462 components, 45 rubies, 21,600 vph (3 Hz), unidirectional gold mini-rotor (22k), Gyromax® balance, Spiromax® balance spring, hand guilloché Clous de Paris decoration. 48-hour power reserve Functions Hours, minutes, local time minute repeater, 24-zone world time with 24-hour display and day/night indication Case 5N (18k) rose gold, 42 mm, interchangeable sapphire crystal. Dial 3 zones: Gold and cloisonné enamel centre with Lavaux landscape, lacquered silver-plated opaline city disc with black transfer, 24-hour gold disc with day/night display. Rose gold.

Equipped with the new R 27 HU caliber, entirely manufactured in-house, the wearer can set the hour strike to the nearest sec, using the 24-hour display of the world time mechanism. Beyond the sheer watchmaking achievement, the process itself has been patented. And for the first time on a Patek Philippe minute repeater, the gongs are affixed to the case middle, not to the movement plate, giving incomparable acoustic quality. The Patek Philippe Seal In 2009, Patek Philippe launched its proprietary quality label for mechanical watches; The Patek Philippe Seal, attests to the utmost quality of its timepieces, far above and beyond official standards, by integrating all competencies and features of relevance in manufacturing, precision and lifelong maintenance. The Patek Philippe Seal applies to the entire watch and is the only seal of quality that assures lifetime maintenance of the watch, regardless of the date of completion. It is governed by detailed regulations and an independent supervisory body. The Patek Philippe Seal embodies all the company’s values and quality standards.

Interview with Charris Yadigaroglou, Head of Communication at Maximilian Büsser & Friends According to Charris Yadigaroglou these key values are integral part of MB&F, independence, collaboration, transparency, creative freedom and mechanical art. "And don’t take yourself too seriously!", he adds. This is formula to outstanding and creative contributions to the haute horologie by the Swiss based MB&F. MB&F is an award-winning, innovative horological lab with international scoop and clientel, can you present in short MB&F and its placement in the market? CY: "MB&F is not a watch brand in the traditional sense, but rather a horological creative lab – whose purpose is to create mechanical art, most often in the form of kinetic sculptures for the wrist more commonly called watches. We do this in an extremely open and transparent way, thanks to a wide network of “Friends” – the many talented people who contribute in one way or another to our Machines." How important is Baselworld to MB&F? CY: "This year was our best Baselworld ever! And as always, the orders we register during the fair are very significant, representing more than a third of our annual sales. Add about the same for the other major watch fair, SIHH in Geneva, and you’ll understand why the two fairs are so important to us: together they represent about 3/4 of our annual revenue." MB&F presented here MoonMachine 2, brands's second collaboration with Stepan Sarpaneva, who is renowned manufacturer of "exceptional timepieces". How this came? CY: "MoonMachine2 is a good example of what we like to do: it is based on our existing pieces, Horological Machine No.8

(please see image above). But we then asked a very good Friend – and very talented watchmaker/designer – to reinterpret it. The result is an absolutely hybrid watch: instantly recog-nizable as MB&F but also instantly recognizable as Sarpaneva. Neither of us could have created this on our own – we needed each other to develop this co-creation."

their timepieces very personally; they are very self-confident (you need to be brave to wear some of our timepieces!) and they really don’t care whether their entourage approves of their choices." How does MB&F staying desirable in time? CY: "At MB&F we ignore any form of market or consumer research when How transparent is MB&F about various creating our Machines. I think this is partners and collaborators? paradoxically why our creations stay CY: "More and more, collectors and relevant and desirable, in today’s the public in general demand over-marketed and standardized world, trans-parency – they are fed up with where products tend to look more and brands trying to trick them to believe more alike. We offer a true alternative. things which are simply not true. Transparency, which has from Day 1 What is the inspiration and story behind been a central element of our brand is each timepiece that MB&F creates? absolutely key to our success." CY:" Inspiration comes from various sources, but the inspiration behind our Who is typical MB&F watch collector? Horological Machines comes from the CY: "They are extremely diverse in dreams and powerful emotions we had terms of general background, culture, during our childhood: science fiction, geography, business experience, etc. – space exploration, airplanes and super but most are self-made men and cars. For our more classic Legacy women, real entrepreneurs. They Machines, the inspiration is a bit more obviously need a fair amount of wealth intellectual: we revisit classic to afford our timepieces, but they have watch-making complications in a very succeeded on their own and choose 3-dimensional, contemporary way.

Is MB&F watch always Swiss Made? CY: "Yes, the vast majority of our components come from Switzerland – simply because the expertise is here. There are a few exceptions like our leather straps, partially manufactured in France. We are open to finding new, very specialized Friends elsewhere in the world. Assembly and quality control are however 100% carried out in our workshops in Geneva." What are the most efficient marketing tools for MB&F today? CY: "You may be surprised, but word of mouth is probably the most powerful tool – this is why we invest so much time in personal contacts, constantly travelling around the world to meet our various contacts, whether retailers, collectors, journalists, bloggers, etc. As an accelerator and booster of word of mouth, press relations and social media are very instrumental – we invest a lot of time on those channels." Where is new MB&F collection available? CY: "We currently have approximately 30 retailers around the world, including three MB&F M.A.D.Galleries in Geneva, Taipei and Dubai." What is your advice to our readers and watch collectors or first time MB&F watch investors? CY: "Take your time to discover our world! We’ll be happy to explain what we stand for, and you’ll hopefully like what you hear – not only about our creations, but also the story and values of our company."

Modern Slavery And Human Trafficking Statement from Graff

Anti Slavery Statement from Graff:

"Whilst the diamond industry has in the past been associated with conflict and exploitation, the industry has taken a number of pro-active steps to combat this, most notably in the form of the Kimberley Process (which certifies that diamonds originate from conflict free zones). Graff has always been at the forefront of such developments and is committed to acting in an ethical and responsible manner in all its business practices. We do not tolerate slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour or human trafficking either within our business or within our supply chains. We expect all members of our supply chain to share the same values and adhere to the same best practice guidelines to ensure that no such forced labour exists within their business or their own supply chains. Through our procurement and polishing division we are subject to the rigorous requirements of the De Beers Best Practice Principles (BPPs)...

With unrivalled access to the world’s best diamonds, Graff watches are set with only the most exceptional stone cuts and quality. Swiss horologists combine these diamonds with other highly precious materials, such as grand feu enamelling. Many Graff watches feature one of 6 exclusive, record-breaking movements at the forefront of haute horologie, including a perpetual calendar, a dual-time tourbillon and an ultra-flat flying tourbillon. For the Far East market ultra-rich and demanding clients Graff offers Haute horology with exquisite artisanal savoir-faire; Graff Floral 37mm watch with dial in blue, pink, purple or white mother of pearl, watch "combines all of the world’s most complex métiers d’art techniques: enamel painting, micro-painting and extraordinarily intricate diamond setting" to create a feminine timepiece.

Nonetheless, we are conscious that with an extensive supply chain with wide geographical reach, more can always be done. And whilst we would never knowingly engage with a supplier involved in forced labour, we recognise that such a supplier would take steps to conceal the true position, meaning that continued vigilance is always necessary. We have therefore developed a Code of Conduct which is being distributed to all new and existing suppliers. This Code of Conduct rejects the use of forced labour. We expect our suppliers to comply with the Code of Conduct and to place similar expectations on their supply chains... If we identify or suspect noncompliance with the Code of Conduct we will work with the relevant supplier to ensure that immediate remedial action is taken to address the situation, failing which to stop working with the supplier in question. Jewelled watches remain an important part of the company, including the new Emerald watch with diamonds, combined with the soft touch of pink sapphire. The Art Deco lines of the eight-sided case, set with 53 brilliant-cut diamonds, are a tribute to the emerald-cut, the favorite diamond shape of Harry Winston, who founded the company in 1932. The frame is accented by pink sapphires, set at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock and a larger, emerald-cut pink sapphire at the 12 o’clock position. Daniel Strom

Strom is the name of a well-known line of Swiss watchmakers, as well as the brand founded in 2001 by Daniel Strom representing the second generation.
