Slot .018” in the upper incisors allows total control of the torques in the .018”X.025” rectangular wire , at the same time facilitating the posterior sliding in the mechanics of closing spaces by having less friction in Slots .022”.

In the lower arch, it was decided to keep all the .022” Slots, as larger gauge wires, such as round .020” and rectangular .019”X.025”, are too important for the complete planning of the curve of Spee , one of the essential requirements to achieve optimal occlusion at the end of treatment.

The main function of the Stop and Guide is to reduce the impact of the upper teeth with the lower brackets, as it works by opening the bite, and at the same time provides reeducation and muscle rest.

The Mini Spur induces the tongue to reduce the pressure on the anterior, upper and/or lower teeth, by assisting in digital suction treatments (finger sucking), correction of open bites in re-education of relapses.

Morelli Sliding Jig is an intraoral device for installation in the intraoral arch, which allows the anchoring springs or elastics in an adjustable position hook. The clinical force adjustment is performed by positioning the hook along the Ø 0.7mm sliding jig wire, using the Gurin* key.

Holographic, iridescent effect, iridescence is an optical phenomenon that makes certain types of surfaces reflect different colors, such as a rainbow, according to the incidence of light. Applied to elastic ligatures, such effect helps to disguise the color change that is inherent to the raw material of elastics. Like with every polymer, unfortunately the ligatures are susceptible to a certain degree of pigmentation when exposed to very strong pigments, such as wine, coffee, mustard and other highly pigmented foods.

Antimicrobial Additive

Pearl Blue Morelli elastics receive a special antimicrobial additive widely used in healthcare to prevent staining and keep the mechanical properties of the ligatures.

Bacteria multiply with high speed in the oral environment. In plastic materials, the first point affected is the product hygiene. Polymer properties can also be affected, shortening piece life.

The incorporation of antimicrobial additives in the polymer matrix has the function of preventing the bacteria development and fixation, which prevents the appearance of stains, odors and even the loss of mechanical properties, caused by fungi and bacteria.
