On 31st December 2008 over 200 staff, dealers, suppliers and customers gathered at the newly refurbished Visitor Centre to celebrate the start of Centenary year. A lavish meal, live music, specially commissioned Morgan champagne, fireworks and a birthday cake all added to the party atmosphere which lasted well into the small hours.

A tour of this historic house, the original setting for Evelyn Waugh’s Brideshead Revisited, was held on 30th July by kind permission of Lady Morrison. The private road that leads up to the house, Gloucester Drive, was the stunning venue for the Auto Tests which ran for much of the day.

A cavalcade of 100 Morgans, headed by a German Morgan police car, made the journey from Malvern to Cheltenham to mark the start of the festivities. A cocktail party at Pittville Pump Rooms provided the local Mayor with the opportunity to welcome Morgan to Cheltenham.

Running simultaneously with the concert the Centenary Gala Dinner was held for around a 1000 guests in the Centaur at the racecourse. Charles and Kira arrived on stage with a screech of tyres in an orange Aero Eight. Walking amongst the tables Charles interviewed special guests such as Lord Montague of Beaulieu, Prince Eric I Sturdza and Richard Hammond. With Morgans hanging from the ceiling and live music from Ray Gelato and the Giants this was a truly spectacular evening of the Centenary Celebrations.
