TYPOGRAPHY 1.1 - Offical Typefaces 1.2 - TT Hoves 1.3 - Futura PT
OFFICAL TYPEFACES Throughout the brand there are two typefaces used. TT Hoves is used for titles or headers. TT Hoves was designed by Ivan Gladkikh, TypeType Team and Pavel Emelyanov. The typeface name TT Hoves comes from an abbreviated combination of two words: horizontals + verticals (ho + ve), which is intended to emphasize the fact that vertical and horizontal strokes predominate in the design of the typeface. Then there is Futura PT which is used for body text or any secondary type. It was designed by Isabelle Chaeva, Paul Renner, Vladimir Andrich et Vladimir Yefimov. There are 22 fonts variations in the original design, but only 6 are used in the 42’s Prague’s graphic charter. If it’s not possible for you to use Futura PT or TT Hoves, please use a Sans Serif font in any case.

LOGOTYPE 3.1 - Security Margins 3.2 - Application
SECURITY MARGINS It is important to keep the proportions and spaces defined in 42 Prague’s logotype. The spaces defined have been validated to guarantee the right visual balance of the logotype. The proportions indicated below shouldn’t be changed under any circumstance. Regardless of the support on which the logo will be used, it should always be surronded by sufficiant blank space so as to maximize its visibility and its impact (colored area marked ‘Safe Area’.) No graphic element of any kind should appear in this zone.
PRAGUE
In order to find the value of the logo’s security margin, divide the height of the logo by two : Security margin = Height(represented by X) / 2

For any use of the logotype on a background color, prefer using one of the three colors above. However the logo can be applied on different backgrounds. Make sure that if the background is dark, the color of the logo remains white, and if the background is light, the color of the logo remains black. Black or white are the only two colors allowed for the logotype.

EXISTING ICONS

CRT EFFECT A cathode-ray tube (CRT) is a specialized vacuum tube in which images are produced when an electron beam strikes a phosphorescent surface. Most desktop computer displays make use of CRTs. The CRT in a computer display is similar to the “picture tube” in a television receiver. This effect causes an image to look blurry or very pixelated, this is our goal. 42 Prague wants the theme of technology and coding to be seen throughout its brand, especially in its graphical elements. For icons, this is created through a CRT effect applied to all icons in photoshop. Different layers of pixelation can be added to make the icon seem more blurry, this just depends on what you are using the specific icon for and the size it will be displayed at. If the symbol will be used very small, it should not be very pixilated, because once it is shrunk it will be unidentifiable.
