TIERED CLASSROOMS

At Morgan State, you’ll learn from faculty who are leaders and active researchers in their fields. More than 90% of faculty in the School of Business and Management hold a Ph.D. in their discipline and offer years of experience in the business world and expertise in their fields of research. You’ll learn from professors like Dr. Sanjay Bapna, whose research in analytics and cybersecurity have secured him best paper awards and several grants. Dr. Abirami Radhakrishnan is well known for her work at the intersection of supply chain and information systems. Dr. Alex Tang is an accomplished researcher in financial controls, while Dr. Robert Singh is acclaimed for his research in entrepreneurship.

Further Study Our students often go on to pursue advanced graduate studies in colleges and universities across the country, as well as right here at Morgan State. We offer Master of Science degrees in Business Administration (online and on campus) Hospitality Management, Project Management, and Professional Accountancy, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting, Information SEAT Systems, Marketing, AUDITORIUM and Management.

Our facilities include a Capital Markets Laboratory with Bloomberg Terminals, several financial databases, and analytics software. Trading simulation software allows exceptional learning opportunities. Our marketing research laboratory includes one-way mirrors for focus group research and observational studies. Plus, we have 10 hotel rooms and a front desk that serve as an on-site campus training environment for students in our Hospitality Management program. The network/ security simulation laboratory makes it possible for students to learn the fundamentals of computer networking and to carry out experiments in networking and cyber security.

Areas of Study The School of Business and Management is made up of three distinct departments: the Department of Accounting and Finance, the Department of Business Administration, and the Department of Information Sciences and Systems.

Together, these three departments offer nine degree programs that result in a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree.

ACCOUNTING & FINANCE

The Department of Accounting and Finance offers B.S. degree programs in Accounting and Finance. As an Accounting major, you’ll prepare for a career in public, corporate, or governmental accounting or auditing. As a finance major, you’ll prepare to lead in investment banking, and corporate or government finance and auditing.

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

The Department of Business Administration offers B.S. degree programs in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Management (Human Resources Management), and Marketing. The department also offers a minor in Entrepreneurship. Whichever major you choose, you’ll graduate with an understanding of business and the global economy that will prepare you for a career in industry, government, and entrepreneurial ventures.

INFORMATION SCIENCE & SYSTEMS

The Department of Information Sciences and Systems offers B.S. degree programs in Information Systems and in Services and Supply Chain Management. As an Information Systems and Services major, you’ll prepare for a career as a systems or business analyst, an app or web developer, IT consultant, database analyst or administrator, or numerous other positions. As a Services and Supply Chain Management major, you’ll learn the theoretical and operational knowledge required for managing supply chain networks in manufacturing and service organizations. Graduates often work for companies such as Amazon, Walmart, Boeing, and Under Armour.
