Case Study
Project scope - Design proposal, supply and installation of 4 classrooms, Teacher Walls and school offices
“We were impressed with Morleys during the design and planning stage of the project. The consultant had a good understanding of the vision we were trying to create and worked with us to implement a design that we could afford, within our budget and to tight time scales. We are delighted with the finished product and look forward to working with Morleys again in the future.

INTERIORS
The Client Melbourn Primary School is located in the village of Melbourn which lies to the far south west of Cambridgeshire, catering for pupils aged 4-11 years old. The school prides itself on making learning irresistible, providing a safe and welcoming environment and broadening the horizons of the pupils so everyone feels valued and encouraged to be confident and an individual.
The Brief
How We Delivered
Due to the growing population of Melbourn the school commissioned an extension of their 1970’s building as part of an expansion of their educational facilities to include a new teaching block and school offices in keeping with the pitched slate roofs and buff facing brickwork of the main traditional building.
Morleys ensured the product selection was in accordance with our design, inspiration and ethos of the learning environment so that the furniture both complemented, enhanced and performed functionally in the required space and overcame on site challenges to ensure we delivered on time. It was important to observe value for money with durable and quality assured products.
Morleys were invited to work with the school to design and create an inspiring, contemporary and value for money solution for 4 classrooms, Teacher Walls and school offices. The classrooms needed to maximise space to accommodate work stations and storage, integrating the use of an interactive screen to aid teaching and provide a comfortable and stimulating learning environment for the pupils. The offices needed to provide an ergonomic and functional environment for the staff to work productively. With a tight deadline for opening coupled with a live construction site, it was important for the school to partner with a company with a specialism and expertise within the education sector, enabling flexibility, knowledge and experience of education projects with a proven track record of delivering on time and within budget.
FOR EDUCATION
Morleys Interiors is a division of Morleys (Bicester) Ltd www.morleys.co.uk | 01869 320320
We worked closely with the building contractors to overcome technical issues for the installation of bespoke fitted Teacher Walls which offered the ideal outcome both in terms of design and functionality to house ICT teaching equipment and incorporate a space saving storage solution, whilst providing that “Wow” factor to inspire and excite the pupils to engage with their learning environment. We completed delivery and installation within the tight deadline of 3 days to provide our Morleys exclusive range of Alpha classroom tables and chairs, storage, reading corners and teacher desks and for the school offices we supplied office desking, storage and seating. The school now has a fresh new and welcoming teaching and office block that pupils, the school and the community can be proud of.
