RATING SIGNS 9.5 to 10 – A sign in absolutely mint condition with no imperfections (I never give a “10”)

9 to 9.4 - A sign that is almost perfect. It may have a factory flaw or almost no damage. If there is damage, there is none in the field*. It has to have great gloss* and color*. 8.5 to 8.9 – A sign that has minor damage, small chips* and minor wear or scratches but has to still have good or great color*, gloss* or shine*. If the example is a painted sign, it may have creases* at a corner or near the edge but never in the field. 8 to 8.4 – A sign that has more damage. The chips* are getting larger or may be an important area. It still should have good gloss* or shine* and color*. 7.5 to 7.9 – A sign where the chips* are still getting larger or more prevalent, heavier wear or creases in the field*, gloss* or shine* may be starting to go, colors* might be fading a bit. 6 to 7.4 – A sign a sign at this level has heavy damage, no gloss* or shine*, or may have fading, a small creasing in the field or in other important areas, and/or deep scratches. (The difference between a 6 to a 7.4 would be the percentage of chips* in the field*). 5 or less – A sign in poor condition all the way around. A rating of 0 would mean that there is nothing left on the surface of the sign. When referring to a “painted sign” we are referring to a factory painted sign meaning that the signs were made in a factory by machines for the purpose of advertising. A hand painted sign means that the sign was actually painted by hand so there are fewer of these made.

RATING GLOBES 9+ (excellent) Lenses are either NOS* or were not used for long. They have no defects or damages. 8 to 8.9 (very good) Lenses may have very minor damage, such as light scratches (to the glass not to the paint) in the field or paint flakes not in the field. 7 to 7.9 (good) Lenses may have more scratches in the field*, weak paint, or edge wear. 6 to 6.9 (fair) Lenses will have minor fading, larger paint flakes*, and heavier wear around edges. 5 to 5.9 (poor) Lenses will have heavier paint fading or eve some missing, deep scratches in the field*, and/or large chips in the glass around the edge. 4.9 or less (very poor) Lens is broken or repaired poorly. If a glass globe body has large chips or cracks in the body, this will decrease the value of the globe rapidly.

RATING QUARTS OR OTHER CANS 9+ (excellent) Can has no defects or flaws. The color has great shine*. It does not have to be full, but cannot have a new top or bottom or have been refilled. 8 to 8.9 (very good) Can may have a new top or bottom but has been done very well. It may have some wear or light scratches but not in the field. 7 to 7.9 (good) Can may have light wear and scratches in the field. The can may have been rerolled* but done very well. 6 to 6.9 (fair) Can will have heavier wear and scratches in the field* or in important areas. The can may have been re-wrapped* to be displayed. 5.9 or less (poor) Can is in poor condition. It has very heavy wear and scratches, dents and more. Dents in quarts can be removed. As long as the paint is not affected it should not reduce the value. As far as a quart can being full or not, I prefer a can to be empty. This is because they can leak at any time and if you drop a full can it is more likely to be damaged than an empty one. Cans have new tops and bottoms put on them. This usually helps increase the value of the can.

CONDITION OF ITEMS

MORPHY’S makes every effort to accurately describe all items offered in its sales, however all items for sale are “as is,” and it is the bidder’s responsibility (present or absentee bidders) to determine the exact condition of each item. MORPHY’S will not be held responsible for typographical errors. Neither we nor the consignor, make any guarantees, warranties, or representation, expressed or implied, in regard to the property or the correctness of the catalog or other description of the authenticity of authorship, physical condition, size, quality, rarity, importance, provenance, exhibition, literature or historic relevance of the property or otherwise. No statement anywhere whether oral or written, shall be deemed such a guarantee, warranty or representation. Prospective bidders should inspect the property before bidding to determine its condition, size and whether or not it has been restored. It is the bidder’s responsibility to initiate contact with Morphy’s in request for additional information regarding the items. Submit all questions regarding upcoming auction items at least 48 hours prior to the date of auction. We will make every effort to answer all submitted questions in a timely manner. All auction participants are urged to check the legality of possession in and/or shipment of gaming devices to their state of residence. Ownership of gaming devices is prohibited in these states: Alabama, Connecticut, Hawaii, Indiana, Nebraska, South Carolina,

and Tennessee. If you become a high bidder on a gaming item, and you are from one of the prohibited states as listed here: • You must pay for your item, • You will not be able to take possession of the item (MORPHY’S cannot ship it to you or allow pickup), • MORPHY’S will consign the item in your name to the next appropriate auction. If you do not pay for the item in full, MORPHY’S will block you from participating in future auctions. Any gaming device purchased at the auction shall be used for the purpose of display or social entertainment within the private home or residence of the buyer, and such devices shall not, in any event or manner, be exposed to the public for the purpose of gambling or be resold in the state of Nevada without a gaming distribution license. Proof of residence/ID is required for purchase of gaming devices. All items not shippable must be picked up by the buyer. GOODS MADE FROM OR CONTAINING MATERIALS FROM PROTECTED SPECIES - MORPHY’S does not accept any responsibility or liability for the sale of items containing materials from protected species or for any omission in marking or labeling goods as containing materials from protected species. Such material includes, but is not limited to, ivory from elephants and walruses, tortoise shell, crocodile skin, whalebone, rhinoceros horn, some species of coral and certain woods. Restrictions on the importation, exportation, sale, transfer, and/or possession of goods containing materials from protected species derive from international, federal, and state laws and regulations promulgated thereunder. Laws include, but are not limited to, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Flora and Fauna (CITES), the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and the Marine Mammals Protection Act (MMPA). JEWELRY AND WATCHES • Jewelry Descriptions and Condition Reports: Lots being offered are sold as-is on the day of sale. All gemstones and diamonds are measured and graded in their setting unless stated otherwise. All weights and grades are approximate. Buyers wishing to have a grading or gemological report from an independent, internationally recognized laboratory, such as the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or the American Gemological Laboratories (AGL), may request one at their own expense or hire an independent adviser of their choosing. • Watch Descriptions and Condition Reports: The physical characteristics, timing accuracy or functionality of timepieces cannot be guaranteed, and all items are sold as-is. o Any condition statement reflects the condition of the watch on the date of the report. o Unless stated in the title, it is assumed that one or more treatments have been performed to the stones. While many treatments are considered permanent, this cannot be guaranteed. o Please note that many treatments cannot be determined without sophisticated laboratory testing. BIDDING RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES

The auctioneer will determine the highest bidder. The auctioneer alone has the right to reopen the bidding of an item if deemed necessary due to a dispute. If there is a tie bid between the floor and Internet or absentee bid, the floor bid takes precedence. MORPHY’S and its representatives reserve the right to remove those attendees who impede preview and/or the auction. Title to all merchandise shall pass to the highest bidder at the fall of the auctioneer’s hammer. The buyer will then assume all risk and full responsibility of the lot purchased once ownership has changed. We recommend that you arrange insurance for your items immediately upon becoming the highest bidder. MORPHY’S is not responsible for any errors in bids, omissions of bids, or failure to execute bids and shall have no liability to any bidder for any technical or other failure associated with the internet, absentee bidding, or telephone bidding. • ABSENTEE BIDDING - MORPHY’S will accept absentee bids if pre-authorized by mail, fax or through www.morphyauctions. com online. Absentee bidders must use the absentee bid form and clearly mark the lot number, title and maximum bid amount. Absentee bidding forms may be accessed online at www. morphyauctions.com. If there are two (2) identical bids placed on the same item, priority will be given to the first bid received. All bids must be left in increments as explained on our bid form. Bid increments listed are a general guideline. Actual increments are at the auctioneer’s discretion. RESERVES

The majority of our items are unreserved, but occasionally items may carry a moderate reserve. Please note that when a lot carries a reserve, the reserve is usually somewhere below our low estimate. In the case of a reserved item, the seller has authorized the auctioneer to bid on their behalf until the reserve price is reached.

BUYER’S PREMIUM

A 23% buyer’s premium will be added to all successful bids and is payable by the purchaser as part of the total purchase cost. If payment by cash, check, money order or wire transfer is made within 7 days of the sale a 3% discount may be taken on the Hammer price by the buyer. DISCOUNT IS ONLY AVAILABLE IF INVOICE IS PAID WITHIN 7 DAYS from the sale date. Split payments are subject to

a 23% buyer’s premium if a credit card is used as any form of total payment. A surcharge will be added for any third party online bidding platform that the bidder utilizes. Refer to your bidding platform of choice for the final buyer’s premium.

SALES TAX

Lots delivered to you, or your representative are subject to all applicable state and local taxes, unless appropriate permits are on file with MORPHY’S. Bidder agrees to pay MORPHY’S the actual amount of tax due in the event that sales tax is not properly collected due to: 1) an expired, inaccurate, or inappropriate tax certificate or declaration, 2) an incorrect interpretation of the applicable statute, 3) or any other reason. The appropriate form or certificate must be on file at and verified by MORPHY’S five days prior to Auction, or tax must be paid; only if such form or certificate is received by MORPHY’S within 4 days after the Auction can a refund of tax paid be made. Lots from different auctions may not be aggregated for sales tax purposes.

PAYMENT

Watch auction purchases and any invoice totaling more than $100,000 must be paid within three (3) days. All other merchandise must be paid in full within seven (7) days of the date of the sale. If payment by cash, check, money order or wire transfer is made within 7 days of the sale, a 3% discount on the Hammer price may be taken by the buyer. BINDING ARBITRATION

Side one has very nice color and gloss but there is a large amount of touch up around the outer edge grommet holes and approximately five-six touched up small chips in the field. No touch up in the graphic. Side two also has large touched up areas around the outer edge and four-five touched up chips in the field but nothing in the graphic. Sign comes in a metal ring. Side one is near perfect with amazing color and gloss and just the slightest outer edge wear areas. Side one has some paper marks with excellent color and gloss. Side two has some larger paper marks and some storage wear. An excellent example of this early, hard to find sign. 6 - SHELL GASOLINE PORCELAIN CURB SIGN. 25” T. DSP sign. A hard to improve on sign. Side one is in near perfect condition with only the slightest edge wear and perfect color and gloss. LOT - 11 8 - OLDSMOBILE OILOGRAPH FRAMED ARTWORK. 39” x 28”. Oil on canvas. Dated 1910 from Olds Motor Works. A very cool piece with an excellent graphic of a man and family roaring though town. The canvas is in excellent condition with just one small vertical tear under the radiator of the car. The frame work is excellent and makes a killer early automobilia display. (8.0). 1,000.00 - 2,000.00 9 - MARATHON TIRES W/ TOURING CAR GRAPHIC TIN LITHO SIGN. 23” x 17”. SST sign. One of the rarest signs in the sale. This piece is extremely rare but does have areas of restoration. The entire outer edge has been repainted with multiple areas of touch up in the field. The bottom appears to have been bent and repaired at one time and possibly clear coated. Dated 1915, The Marathon Tire & Rubber Co. 15 - NOS MOBIL GARGOYLE MOBILOILS PORCELAIN FLANGE SIGN. 24” x 15-1/2”. DSP sign. An excellent new old stock example of this sign. Side one has near perfect color and gloss with some slight edge wear and one area at the top left with a larger size edge chip. Side two is near perfect. Side one has excellent color and gloss and the graphic is bright and glossy. In the white area of the field there is eight pencil eraser size touch ups, two of them being right near the viking’s shield and head. There is also an untouched chip in the field at the bottom right area of the field. Side two has six flea bite type chips and three dime size chips in the field and in the word “Business”. LOT - 18 18 - RED HAT MOTOR OIL & GASOLINE 32” PORCELAIN SIGN. 32” Dia. DSP sign. Red Hat is one of the most sought after brands in Petroliana and this is one of the best examples known of this sign. Side one has excellent color and gloss with some light surface scratches in the gloss. The only distracting areas on this sign are in the black porcelain. There are approximately six areas fingerprints in the black porcelain from where it was originally grabbed while in the drying process. The color and gloss is bright and vibrant. The field is free of chips and only shows a few light areas of chipping around the outer edge. Side two has excellent color and gloss with one large chip at the very top of the sign and a few light chips at the outer edge. There are approximately fifteen factory touch ups and porcelain fills in the field mostly in the red porcelain. The color is just a shade lighter than the original red, so they are noticeable.
