Those who bid are bound by those Terms and Conditions of the Sale, as amended by any oral announcement or posted notices, which together form the contract of the sale between the successful bidder (purchaser), MORPHY’S and the seller (consignor) of the lot.

TERMS OF SALE

When bidding on any lot offered by MORPHY’S, the bidder indicates acceptance of the following Terms of Sale. Any participation in the auction binds you to agreement of these terms whether or not you read or understand said terms.

CONDITION OF ITEMS

MORPHY’S makes every effort to accurately describe all items offered in its sales, however all items for sale are “as is,” and it is the bidder’s responsibility (present or absentee bidders) to determine the exact condition of each item. MORPHY’S will not be held responsible for typographical errors. Neither we nor the consignor, make any guarantees, warranties, or representation expressed, or implied, in regard to the property or the correctness of the catalog or other description of the authenticity of authorship, physical condition, size, quality, rarity, importance, provenance, exhibition, literature or historic relevance of the property or otherwise. No statement anywhere whether oral or written, shall be deemed such a guarantee, warranty or representation. Prospective bidders should inspect the property before bidding to determine its condition, size and whether or not it has been restored. It is the bidder’s responsibility to initiate contact with MORPHY’S in request for additional information regarding the items. Submit all questions regarding upcoming auction items at least 48 hours prior to the date of auction. We will make every effort to answer all submitted questions in a timely manner. However, we cannot guarantee that questions submitted within 48 hours of the auction date will be answered prior to the auction. The consigner and we make no representation or warranty as to whether the purchaser acquires any reproduction rights in the property. Returns will not be accepted under any circumstances. All items will be available for preview approximately one (1) month prior to the auction. All items are sold for display purpose. If electrical, mechanical, or other working parts are inoperable, even if working at the time of sale, we are not liable due to the inherent nature of the age of these antiques and items. FIREARMS – All firearms transfers will be in strict accordance with all International, Federal, State and local laws. Be sure to check your country, state and local laws before bidding. If you are unable to import, purchase or own a firearm according to your residency laws, do not bid on these items. If you bid and find out later you cannot legally own/accept delivery, the bid is still a valid contract that the buyer must pay. • Condition of Firearms and Related Items o Condition is always a subjective evaluation. Final responsibility rests with the buyer to assess the condition of items. It is not possible to adequately describe in text or photos an antique or collectible item, and many modern items, that have seen use and show wear. MORPHY’S’s goal at all times is to be as fair and honest in our catalog descriptions. MORPHY’S recommends that you personally inspect all items, or enlist a trusted professional to do so for you. o MORPHY’S will only consider a refund when there is a major description discrepancy or authenticity issue that has a major effect on value. Examples that apply are major restoration or repair not described, counterfeits, reproductions or major fabrications. o MORPHY’S will not refund sales with buyers that have disputes regarding a firearm’s bore condition. o If the discrepancy is less than major, MORPHY’S will not under any circumstance provide a refund. This means that if you are purchasing an item and find undisclosed blemishes, finish differences, wood-to-metal fits issues, surface cracks or chips in wood, dings and dents, and other similar differences, it will not qualify for refund consideration. o Should the buyer have a major dispute regarding an item, the buyer must notify MORPHY’S within three (3) days of receipt of the item to receive consideration. MORPHY’S in its sole discretion may provide refunds for major description discrepancies or authenticity issues. Should MORPHY’S deny an authenticity issue dispute of the buyer, and the buyer is not satisfied, the buyer may, at his or her own expense, obtain the written opinion of two mutually agreed upon recognized experts in the field of the disputed item. The final decision of those experts will determine any refund consideration. o There will be no options for refunds of any type beyond 35 calendar days from the auction date. o Paying late and thus receiving items late will not change the limitation on the dates above for refund consideration. MORPHY’S ships items in order of payment. o These terms are available only to the original buyer of record. All sales are final.

Terms & Conditions • Firearms Catalog Designations o A: antique o M: modern (post 1898), Federal Firearms License (FFL) requirements apply o C: curio & relic eligible o N: National Firearms Act / Title II Gun Control Act of 1968 (Class III SOT) requirements apply o ^:Modern firearm imported from Canada, will have an unassuming marking that contains at least “BV LYNDEN WA” and any of the following not already marked on the firearm: serial number, caliber, country of manufacture, manufacturer name and model. Marking letters are 1/16” tall and just over 3” deep. Buyers must consider this in their bidding. Marking will not appear on antique firearms imported from Canada. • Checkout and pickup at our location: o The same person to whom the bidder number is registered must be the person to pick up the firearm(s) at the conclusion of the sale – Federal Law disallows anyone else from accepting the transfer. o Modern firearms sales to non-licensed bidders who are picking up guns at our location will require the completion of a form 4473 background check. o PA auctions only - Handgun purchases also require an additional PICS form/ background check for each handgun purchased. This process to fill out forms and obtain a response may take 5-10 minutes. Any applicable state fees associated with these checks will be added to the customer’s invoice. o NV auctions only – If you have a Conceal & Carry permit issued July 1, 2011 or later, you do not need to complete the background check. o If you are “Denied” by FBI / PICS background check you will not be able to take possession of the firearm and the firearm will be consigned to the next available firearm auction. Dealers and Individuals that bid on and win items own the items and are fully responsible for payment within terms regardless of whether the FBI / PICS approves their taking physical possession of the items. MORPHY’S will not cancel the sale due to disapproval for any reason. o If you are appealing a “Denied” decision, we will hold the firearm only if you pay in full. o Licensed bidders, i.e. Federal Firearms licensees or Curio & Relics license holders must present a current signed copy of their license. C&R licensee purchases must conform to the BATF C&R requirements. • National Firearms Act (NFA) Class 3 Weapons Processing o Dealers: Buyer must provide MORPHY’S with a copy of their active FFL and SOT license. Estimated time for processing and approval of the required Form 3 normally takes two months. o Individuals: Law requires a completed Form 4, or Form 5 for deactivated guns. MORPHY’S will prepare and sign the front of the applicable transfer form, and send to the individual buyer. Individual is responsible for completing requirements for fingerprints, photo, and a fee of $200, as well as completing applicable portions of the reverse side of the form. Estimated time for processing and approval of Form 4 is 6-8 months.

o Dealers and Individuals that bid on and win NFA items own the items and are fully responsible for payment within terms regardless of whether the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATF) approves their taking physical possession of the items. MORPHY’S will not cancel the sale due to BATF disapproval for any reason. • Shipping o PA auctions only - Non-Residents of Pennsylvania may not pickup modern handguns. Any firearms shipped are legally required to be shipped to an ATF licensed FFL dealer within your state of residence for transfer and pickup. You will be responsible for all shipping and transfer costs incurred. o NV auctions only - Non-Residents of Nevada may not pickup modern handguns. o Modern handguns are required to be shipped via FedEx 2-Day Air. o Modern long guns are shipped via FedEx ground to the FFL dealer. o Upon paying for the firearm you can contact a licensed dealer to send their FFL to firearms@morphyauctions.com with the paid invoice number notated. o MORPHY’S will not be responsible for exporting modern firearms or any ammunition. Buyer may contact Borderview International Firearm Logistics or another third party provider. Borderview may be contacted prior to bidding for pricing, process and timeline information. • Long guns will only be sold to persons 18 years of age, or older. Handguns will only be sold to those persons 21 years of age, or older. Dealers are bound by these minimum age requirements. • Since all firearms sold are “collectible” items, MORPHY’S does not test the safety or warrant functionality of these firearms. All firearm purchases should be examined by a certified gunsmith prior to shooting. • MORPHY’S reserves the right to deny the sale of a firearm to any buyer. GOODS MADE FROM OR CONTAINING MATERIALS FROM PROTECTED SPECIES - MORPHY’S does not accept any responsibility or liability for the sale of items containing materials from protected species or for any omission in marking or labeling goods as containing materials from protected species. Such material includes, but is not limited to, ivory from elephants and walruses, tortoise shell, crocodile skin, whalebone, rhinoceros horn, some species of coral and certain woods. Restrictions on the importation, exportation, sale, transfer, and/or possession of goods containing materials from protected species derive from international, federal, and state laws and regulations promulgated thereunder. Laws include, but are not limited to, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Flora and Fauna (CITES), the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and the Marine Mammals Protection Act (MMPA). Terms & Conditions Prospective purchasers are on notice that several countries completely prohibit importation of property made, all or in part, of protected materials. Some countries require special permits, such as a CITES permit, from the relevant regulating authority in the countries of exportation and importation as well. Potential purchasers intending to import the property into another country should be familiar with the relevant customs laws and regulations prior to bidding on goods containing material from protected species. Regulations may vary as the U.S. generally prohibits importation of articles containing material(s) from species it has designated endangered or threatened if the articles are less than 100 years old, subject to certain exceptions. It shall be the potential purchaser’s sole responsibility to research and satisfy the requirements of any laws and regulations that apply to the import and export of property as described in the aforementioned paragraphs. All purchasers agree to comply with any and all domestic and international restrictions on the trade of protected species as a condition of the sale. Please note that the ability to obtain an export license or certificate does not ensure the ability to obtain an import license or certificate in another country, and vice versa. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to obtain any export or import licenses and/or certificates as well as any other required documentation. MORPHY’S is not able to assist the purchaser in attempting to obtain the appropriate licenses and/or certificates, and there is no assurance that an export license or certificate can be obtained. The inability or delay in obtaining permits, licenses or other permissions to import or export goods containing material from protected species will not constitute a basis for rescission or cancellation of the sale of said goods or the delay in payment of purchased items in accordance with these Bidder Terms and Conditions. BIDDING RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES

The auctioneer will determine the highest bidder. The auctioneer alone has the right to reopen the bidding of an item if deemed necessary due to a dispute. If there is a tie bid between the floor and Internet or absentee bid, the floor bid takes precedence. MORPHY’S and its representatives reserve the right to remove those attendees who impede preview and/ or the auction. Title to all merchandise shall pass to the highest bidder at the fall of the auctioneer’s hammer. The buyer will then assume all risk and full responsibility of the lot purchased once ownership has changed. We recommend that you arrange insurance for your items immediately upon becoming the highest bidder. MORPHY’S is not responsible for any errors in bids, omissions of bids, or failure to execute bids and shall have no liability to any bidder for any technical or other failure associated with the internet, absentee bidding, or telephone bidding.

• ABSENTEE BIDDING - MORPHY’S will accept absentee bids if pre-authorized by mail, fax or through www.morphyauctions.com online. Absentee bidders must use the absentee bid form and clearly mark the lot number, title and maximum bid amount. Absentee bidding forms may be accessed online at www.morphyauctions.com. If there are two (2) identical bids placed on the same item, priority will be given to the first bid received. All bids must be left in increments as explained on our bid form. If a bid is “out of increment,” the auctioneer has the right to round the bid up to the next correct increment. Bidders may preview, register and place bids online through our website, www.morphyauctions.com. Absentee and online bids placed through www. morphyauctions.com will be auto charged to the credit card entered 48 hours after the end of the sale. If you wish to pay by another method please contact us within 48 hours after the sale. Seller(s) agree to allow the Auctioneer to accept and execute absentee bids in a competitive manner for potential buyers and under the MORPHY’S absentee bidding terms and conditions. During the live sale, the auctioneer will execute your absentee bid competitively up to the maximum amount you have indicated. • ONLINE BIDDING - Online bidding through www.morphyauctions.com, Live Auctioneers, Bidsquare, Proxibid, or other bidding platforms may be available; all Terms and Conditions still apply. Due to our fast paced auctions and bids coming from floor bidders, phone bidders, internet bidders and absentee bids, the auctioneer has the final word on all item(s) sold. You (the bidder) assume the risk of winning an item online and not having the item actually sell to you. This is due to the final call of the auctioneer and the operator not being able to re-open that lot. Online bidders are fully responsible for accidental bidding as if they bid normally. • BID RESULTS – MORPHY’S will only contact successful bidders. Please allow 24-48 hours post auction to receive your official invoice from MORPHY’S. The invoice will include item, hammer price, premium, packing and handling, shipping, insurance, and any other charges that apply. Bid increments listed are a general guideline. Actual increments are at the auctioneer’s discretion. RESERVES

The majority of our items are unreserved, but occasionally items may carry a moderate reserve. Please note that when a lot carries a reserve, the reserve is usually somewhere below our low estimate. In the case of a reserved item, the seller has authorized the auctioneer to bid on their behalf until the reserve price is reached.

BUYER’S PREMIUM

A 23% buyer’s premium will be added to all successful bids and is payable by the purchaser as part of the total purchase cost. If payment by cash, check, money order or wire transfer is made within 7 days of the invoice a 3% discount may be taken on the Hammer price by the buyer. DISCOUNT IS ONLY AVAILABLE IF INVOICE IS PAID WITHIN 7 DAYS from the sale date. Split payments are subject to a 23% buyer’s premium if a credit card is used as any form of total payment.. A surcharge will be added for certain third party online bidding platforms the bidder utilizes. Refer to your bidding platform of choice for the final buyer’s premium.

SALES TAX

Lots delivered to you, or your representative are subject to all applicable state and local taxes, unless appropriate permits are on file with MORPHY’S. Bidder agrees to pay MORPHY’S the actual amount of tax due in the event that sales tax is not properly collected due to: 1) an expired, inaccurate, or inappropriate tax certificate or declaration, 2) an incorrect interpretation of the applicable statute, 3) or any other reason. The appropriate form or certificate must be on file at and verified by MORPHY’S five days prior to Auction, or tax must be paid; only if such form or certificate is received by MORPHY’S within 4 days after the Auction can a refund of tax paid be made. Lots from different auctions may not be aggregated for sales tax purposes.

PAYMENT, INTEREST & STORAGE FEES

Any invoice totaling more than $100,000 and all watch sales must be paid within three (3) days. All other merchandise must be paid in full within seven (7) days of the date of the invoice. If payment by cash, check, money order or wire transfer is made within 7 days of the invoice, a 3% discount on the Hammer price may be taken by the buyer. DISCOUNT IS ONLY AVAILABLE IF INVOICE IS PAID WITHIN 7 DAYS from the invoice date. No discount is permitted on split payments where a credit card is used as any form of total payment. Payments can be made by going to your account online at www.morphyauctions.com, call 877-968-8880 or mail payment to: Dan Morphy Auctions LLC 2000 N Reading Rd, Denver, PA 17517. Interest will be charged on all balances not paid at the rate of 1-1/2% monthly (18% APR) effective 30 days from the invoice date. All goods not retrieved by Buyer within 120 days after the invoice date, shall be subject to a storage fee of $50 per item per month. Absentee bids placed through www.morphyauctions.com will be auto charged to the credit card entered 48 hours after the end of the sale. If you wish to pay by another method please contact us within 48 hours after the sale. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, personal checks, certified checks, wire transfers, money orders, and cash. • We accept cash, wire transfer, check, certified checks and money orders only. No credit cards. • CREDIT CARD – For first time buyers and credit card charges greater than $2,500 buyers must complete the bottom portion of the invoice and must specifically sign the acknowledgement of our terms of sale before we will accept payment via credit card. We do offer the convenience of paying automatically by credit card. If you wish have your card automatically charged for all purchases please complete our “Authorization for Automatic Credit Card Use.” We have this form available online or upon request. Split payments are subject to a 23% buyer’s premium if a credit card is used as any form of total payment. • CHECK - There will be a $30 service charge for returned checks. Make checks payable to: Dan Morphy Auctions LLC. MORPHY’S reserves the right to hold items paid for by personal or company check until said check clears (14 days). MORPHY’S has the right to hold all checks over $2,000. Customers who have an established successful buying history with MORPHY’S may be exempt from this. We will accept a personal or company check >$2,000 and/or from a first time buyer if you provide a Bank Letter of Credit, available on our website, www.morphyauctions.com. • WIRE TRANSFERS – There will be a $30 charge added to all wire transfers less than $2,000. Please add this amount to your invoice total before sending a wire transfer. In the few situations where a successful bidder does not remit payment when due, MORPHY’S will proceed with the legal steps necessary to protect its interests and will block the bidder from future auction participation.

Terms & Conditions PACKING/SHIPPING

• It is the bidder’s responsibility to take shipping, handling, and insurance costs into consideration when bidding on items. • BIDDERS PRESENT AND TAKING ITEMS AFTER AUCTION – Since item liability transfers upon a successful bid, items paid for must be packed, transported and/or removed by the purchaser at his/her own risk after the close of the sale. We recommend that you arrange insurance for your items immediately upon becoming the highest bidder. If any employee or agent of MORPHY’S shall pack or transport the merchandise, it is fully at the risk and responsibility and expense of the purchaser. MORPHY’S shall not be held liable for any loss or damage that may be caused by the said agent or employee. • ITEMS NOT PICKED UP THE DAY OF THE SALE – Packaging, shipping, and insurance on all items to locations that can accept shipments will be made available as an added courtesy and at an additional cost. We recommend that you arrange insurance for your items immediately upon becoming the highest bidder. All applicable charges will be applied to the invoice. Shipping will be based on actual costs via FedEx, USPS, or other carriers required based upon the contents of the shipment. Packaging and insurance will vary in cost depending on the items on each invoice. All packages will be shipped with insurance. Standard items packed internally by MORPHY’s will ship seven to fourteen (7-14) business days after payment is received. Oversize and breakable items, which will appear on a separate line of the invoice, will ship based upon a date our shipper partner will provide to the purchaser after payment and pickup of the items. MORPHY’s cannot combine standard item shipments with oversize and breakable item shipments. Again, if any employee or agent of MORPHY’S shall pack or transport the merchandise, it is fully at the risk and responsibility and expense of the purchaser. MORPHY’S shall not be held liable for any loss or damage that may be caused by the said agent or employee. • SHIPPING TERMS - MORPHY’S will ship all items to the buyer at the listed address via FedEx or other carriers, FOB Denver, Pennsylvania or FOB Las Vegas, NV or FOB other auction locations. Any risk of loss or damage to the item(s) during transit via FedEx, or any other carrier, in excess of the insurance provided by or purchased from MORPHY’S, is at the risk of the buyer. Any additional insurance coverage should be purchased by the buyer through the carrier. Buyer releases MORPHY’s from any and all claims for loss or damage to any item during transit and agrees to pay all costs of defense, including attorney’s fees, for any claims brought against MORPHY’S for loss or damage occurring during transit. • INSURANCE - Shipping insurance is automatically added up to $1,000 for every package. If your package is valued at >$10,000 we will also automatically add “Additional Insurance”, which you can decline by contacting us. If you wish to arrange for “Additional Insurance” for packages valued between $1,000 and $10,000 please contact us prior to payment and we can quote this additional insurance amount for you. Oversize and breakable items shipments include full insurance. Insurance for all 3rd party shipments must be arranged through that carrier. Insurance provided or purchased through MORPHY’s applies only to shipments to the United States and Canada. Buyers must purchase their own insurance for shipments to other countries.

• INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS – MORPHY’S has the capability to ship to international bidders. By law, MORPHY’S cannot, and will not, declare lesser values for any international purchases and all shipments will include the invoice with purchase totals including the buyer’s premium and shipping cost. All international bidders are responsible for knowing their country’s laws on importing items and for paying all customs and duties on the items. • 3RD PARTY SHIPPING of OVERSIZE AND BREAKABLE ITEMS – Should bidders choose to use a shipper other than MORPHY’S, the bidder MUST arrange and pay for 3rd party shipping. As a general guideline, the following will indicate which packages apply, as they are of a certain weight, length, or dimensional size. ∙ Dimensional size is length (the longest measurement) + (height x 2) + (width x 2). For example a 36” x 36” x 12” package = 36 + (36 x2) + (12 x 2) = 132” ∙ USA home shipments must be <70 lbs. and <108” length and <165” dimensional size ∙ USA business shipments must be <150 lbs. and <108” length and <165” dimensional size ∙ International shipments must be <150 lbs. and <108” length and <130” dimensional size ∙ There may be certain shipments that meet these requirements that will still require 3rd party shipping, and we will communicate the reason in those cases. • BREAKABLE, DELICATE, FRAGILE ITEMS - MORPHY’S reserves the right to choose items and orders that it will pack, ship, and/or insure directly using our shipping department. Those items that MORPHY’S will not ship will require that the winning bidder either pick up the items personally or arrange a 3rd party shipping service. Examples of items that may apply after determination by our shipping department include but are not limited to: items with neon of any type (working or non-working), all glass display cases of any size; coin-operated, arcade and vending items with fragile parts and/or glass; signs with parts or protrusions beyond the main body of the sign, oversized vases (guideline – larger than fit in a 20” x 20” x 40” box), high value lamps and glass of all sizes, high value artwork including but not limited to paintings, statuary, sculpture, figurines, dioramas, and other intricate items; and items subject to impact by moisture and known handling issues in the supply chain. Under no circumstances will MORPHY’S be responsible for shipping damage to picture frames of any kind. • For any buyers who wish to arrange for their own shipping, MORPHY’S must be notified at least seven (7) days prior to arrival of the shipping company name, arrival date and time. Pickup must be scheduled to begin and end within our normal business hours (9am – 4pm weekdays). Buyers must arrange weekend pickups in advance with MORPHY’S staff, and additional charges may be necessary for overtime. All 3rd party shippers must arrive with a copy of the invoice, • STORAGE FEE – MORPHY’S will charge a storage fee of $50 per item per month for any items awaiting pickup for more than 120 days following the invoice date.

Terms & Conditions AGREEMENT REGARDING GOVERNING LAW, VENUE, AND LEGAL RIGHTS

THE DR. EDWARD MICHAEL FELDMAN COLLECTION OF COLT FIREARMS The Feldman Collection represents a decades long pursuit of some of the very finest collectible Colt firearms from Paterson to Model 1911. The selections offered, beginning with a fine cased Number 2 Belt Model Paterson and ending with a number of finely (and several superbly engraved) Colt automatic pistols, provide firearms collectors a rare opportunity to benefit from Dr. Feldman’s dedicated pursuit of the most desirable Colts.

R.L. “Larry” Wilson. The Captain W. H.H. Waller cased, deluxe factory engraved, ebony gripped 1862 Police revolvers may be considered the finest pair of this model known. The Collection contains no fewer than seven Colt factory presentation revolvers including the General Rosecrans 1860 Army featuring every conceivable deluxe embellishment other than gold inlay.

Ed brought the same qualities of courage, passion and dedication that he so brilliantly displayed on the battlefield and in the operating room to the assembly this remarkable collection. He did have help. His mentors included the renowned percussion Colt collector, Dr. Chester Bonoff, from whom he purchased several famous cased revolvers, as well as a number of fine dealers such as Alan Kelly, Michael Kokin and John R. Gangel. Ed’s interest in firearms and ultimately his enlistment in the military grew out of his love of Cowboy and World War II movies while a youngster on the west side of Manhattan. Ed would later credit those movies for exposing him to the tactical maneuvers he applied in the military engagement that earned him recommendation for the Medal of Honor. The Feldman Collection is all the more impressive in that, as a physician, he didn’t enjoy the same access to resources as did many of the legendary Colt collectors such as Richard Mellon, R.E. Hable, Jerry Berger, George Gamble or Robert M. Lee. It was down to Ed’s single-minded dedication to Colt collecting together with good fortune, friends, and opportunity that allowed him to assemble one of America’s most important collections – access to which he generously shared with other serious collectors. A number of Dr. Feldman’s Colts can be considered either among the finest examples of a specific model or in several instances the best known. Within the finest group of Colt 1862 Police models ever assembled are many which are deluxe factory engraved revolvers presented either by the Colt factory or by Colonel Samuel Colt, himself. The Henry Kellogg 1862 is illustrated in both The Colt Heritage and Colt, An American Legend, both by legendary Colt writer and scholar, 10

The General Garcia (who corresponded and associated with Robert E. Lee when Colonel Lee held command in Texas just prior to the Civil War) cased set of deluxe engraved, gilded, and raised carved Mexican snake and eagle ivory grips was the pride of the renowned Raymond Stagg Collection later acquired by the Harold’s Club hotel and casino, and then by the great George Repaire (owner of the finest known Colt revolver, the Sultan of Turkey Dragoon, now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art) entered the Feldman Collection when George sold his treasures at Butterfield and Butterfield. Dr. Feldman’s Model 1855 Root revolvers are extremely fine and include the French cased, deluxe engraved, First Model serial number 16, as well as a superb cased deluxe engraved example inscribed: “Peter Dennis from the Inventor Col. Colt.” Dr. Feldman’s two spectacularly engraved Model 1877, one illustrated in Colt Pistols, the collection of R.E. Hable by R.L. Wilson and the other featured annually on the cover of the Las Vegas Antique Arms Show program, are both well documented in the Colt factory record and represent the finest nickel example and the finest blue and case colored example known. The “Sheriff’s Model” serial number 55021 is the only panel scene engraved Lightning known featuring a superbly rendered Big Horn Sheep on the flat of the grip strap. The 1880 New House revolver is elaborately factory engraved and was a Christmas present to prominent Connecticut scientist, Charles S, Hastings in 1883. This lovely and justly famous revolver is complete with its original holster and remains in pristine nearly factory new condition. Thanks to 21st century photographic technology and the talented photographer responsible for the images in the following pages, Dr. Feldman’s treasures can speak for themselves of their uniform excellence and the fortunate new owners will have a permanent record of a true officer and a gentleman’s passion for the finest Colt firearms.

LIEUTENANT COMMANDER DR. EDWARD MICHAEL FELDMAN 26 February 1941–3 October 2017

Dr. Edward M. Feldman, always Ed to those fortunate enough to be counted amongst his friends, passed away on October 3rd of 2017 at 76. A masterful California Board certified surgeon, compassionate physician, genuine American hero, recipient of the Silver Star, awarded two bronze stars, one with a “V” for valor, and nominated for the Congressional Medal of Honor. Ed was a loving husband, adored father and grandfather, passionate tennis player, and dedicated collector of the finest Colt firearms. Ed was a Renaissance man in the truest sense of the term. “Live, live all you can, it’s a mistake not to.” Henry James Edward M. Feldman, DO, shakes hands with Gen. Raymond G. Davis, USMC, after receiving a Silver Star Medal for removing an unexploded North Vietnamese mortar shell from the abdominal cavity of a Marine in Khe Sanh, Vietnam.

Editor’s note: Edward M. Feldman, DO, was one of the first DOs to serve in the U.S. Navy as a physician and was nominated for the Congressional Medal of Honor for his service in Vietnam in 1968. The following remembrance was submitted by Timothy Kowalski, DO. Edward Michael Feldman, DO, passed on Oct. 3, 2017. An intensely patriotic man, he volunteered to serve in Vietnam. For his service, he was awarded a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars and nominated for the Congressional Medal of Honor. He is the first and only DO to be nominated for the highest award given for valor in action.

HEROIC DISPLAY OF COURAGE The nomination came following a particularly heroic display of courage on Dr. Feldman’s part: In September 1968, as a triage officer at the Marine medical facility in Quang Tri, near the DMZ, Dr. Feldman was airlifted to the edge of a violent firefight where wounded soldiers needed medical assistance.

Ed embraced life with the fiery enthusiasm that characterized his actions throughout his 76 years. There are so many tributes “To Lt. Reprinted below a tribute written by fellow physician, Timothy Kowolski, for The DO magazine in honor of Ed’s being awarded the Silver Star medal. It offers a vivid picture of Ed’s gallantry in action and courage under fire.

LEAVING A LEGACY

From where he was dropped off, Dr. Feldman could see a column of Armored Calvary Assault Vehicles a short distance away being violently attacked by a battalion-sized North Vietnamese force, firing automatic weapons and launching rocket-propelled grenades and mortar shells. Heedless of the enemy’s small-arms fire, Dr. Feldman rushed to the head of the column of assault vehicles. Dr. Feldman worked his way down the column, attending to the wounded and encouraging the men, all the while exposing himself to steady enemy fire moving from assault vehicle to assault vehicle, returning fire as he maneuvered. Two additional armored track vehicles, immobilized at the top of a hill, were covering the column’s flank with .50 caliber machine gun fire to prevent the column being overrun by the enemy, while at the same time repelling an enemy attack of their position from Viet Cong soldiers advancing up the hill from the South. After making his way down the entire column of assault vehicles and back, Dr. Feldman recognized there was an attrition of Command Leadership during the ambush. As the senior ranking officer on the ground, Dr. Feldman took tactical command. Not only did he provide defensive aggression against the enemy in protecting himself and his wounded soldiers, Dr. Feldman provided command leadership, directing the armored vehicles to move to the top of the hill, where he guided the men in forming

a defensive perimeter. Within that perimeter Dr. Feldman treated the wounded, many of whom had gone into hypovolemic shock. Those who were expectant were administered morphine to ease their suffering. Once the wounded were stabilized and there was a small break in the weather, Dr. Feldman had the soldiers clear a landing zone where he called for a Chinook helicopter to evacuate all the wounded and dead at one time. Remarkably, rather than departing on the medevac with the wounded, Dr. Feldman chose to stay on the ground overnight, where his leadership and encouragement were needed most. He remained with the unit until senior army leadership replaced him the next day.

A LIFE IN MEDICINE Following his tour in Vietnam, Dr. Feldman completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the former New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry University Hospital, where he went on to serve as an assistant professor. In 1980, he moved to California, where he was an associate professor at Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California. He was board-certified in ob-gyn in California, where he also ran a practice focused on gynecologic surgery until his retirement. Dr. Feldman earned his BS degree at Columbia University and his DO degree at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following his military service, he served as a subject matter expert for SOCOM (Marine Corps Special Operations Command, Detachment One), vice chairman of the California Department of Veteran Affairs, and national surgeon of the Jewish War Veterans of America. 1 - (A) RARE & DESIRABLE NO. 2 BELT MODEL PATERSON COLT CASED IN ORIGINAL VERY FINE PATERSON CASE. Manufacturer: Colt Model: Paterson No. 2 Serial No. 335 Caliber: .31 Percussion Barrel Length: 4 - 5/8” Paterson Colts are second only to Walkers in importance, desirability and collectibility. Paterson No. 335 is the earliest gun in Dr. Feldman’s collection and begins this catalog. The barrel retains nearly all of its original bright Paterson factory bluing with extremely fine pitting at the muzzle which was left bright. Cylinder retains much original bluing with excellent centaur scene. Bore is fine for a Paterson. Hammer retains considerable traces of original case colors. Frame retains considerable original bright blue. Backstrap retains much original blue with some thinning and browning. Original figured walnut grip has most of its original varnish. Deeply struck serial No. 335 at base of grip. One insignificant score on right side of grip. All visible numbers match with the exception of an unnumbered wedge, which is an original Paterson wedge. Case would rate excellent for a Paterson with a German silver escutcheon engraved “J. A. ROSS”. Spare cylinder also numbered 335 has most original fading blue finish with excellent scene and three minor dents on rim at face of cylinder and one broken nipple. Bullet mold has some original bluing, wood handles are original and slightly worn. Combination tool shows use but has some blue and is original. Cleaning rod of the correct type with turned ivory handle. Charger is fine, marked “Patent Arms M’g Company Paterson NJ Colt’s Pt”, and has strong traces of original coppering on body and considerable original bright gilding; numbered 35 on spout and body. Capper is an old copy that appears original. This is an extremely fine No. 2 Belt Model Paterson which Dr. Feldman purchased from the estate of Johnny Miller of Palm Springs, California and was one of the great prizes in Mr. Miller’s extensive collection of Colts and Winchesters. 50,000 - 80,000

FFL Status: Antique Manufactured in 1849. This rare and desirable Baby Dragoon, serial number 9871, retains most of its original dull Colt factory blue on barrel, faded case hardening on frame (never vibrant on this model), and round cylinder stops. Cylinder has nearly all of its original cavalry and Indian scene with strong traces of original blue and showing little if any wear. Back strap and trigger guard retain nearly all the original darkened heavy silver plating. Revolver has all matching numbers, including wedge. Single cylinder pin is intact. Bore is bright with minor roughness. Grips are figured walnut and original to gun with some added finish. Case is original with lid having an extra coat of varnish, faded wine red lining, unusual flask with plunger and raised Baby Dragoon on face, loading tool, and early brass Colt mold. Manufacturer: Colt Model: 2nd Model Dragoon Serial No. 8940 Caliber: .44 Barrel Length: 7 - 3/8” FFL Status: Antique This superb Second Model Dragoon appears to be one of the martials sold to the civilian market, as it bears “U.S.” on the frame and “H” inspection on left side of grip and cylinder. The condition of serial No. 8940 is superb; barrel retains nearly all the original pasty Martial type bluing. Lever retains considerable case colors. Case colors on frame are excellent for a dragoon with some vividity mostly on the left side. Cylinder retains most original pasty military bluing with extremely strong cylinder scene, one of the strongest cylinder scenes we have observed on any dragoon. “U.S. Dragoons” is still proud on the surface of the cylinder. Pin safeties are intact with one exception. Walnuts grips retain nearly all their varnish, frame screws retain most of finish. Trigger guard and backstrap retain nearly all their original heavy silver plating with some minor wear. Deluxe case with brass corners and strapping, wine red velvet lining slightly faded. Colt’s patent flask with stand of arms has considerable lacquer; only traces of gilding on spout and top. Includes Colt’s patent brass .44 mold and one box of Sage cartridges. Manufacturer: Colt Model: Dragoon Serial No. 9560 Caliber: .44 Barrel Length: 7 - 3/8” FFL Status: Antique This is a spectacular example of this highly desirable and rare U.S. Martial arm. Barrel retains nearly all of its original Colt factory military type bluing. Cylinder with one of the most legible scenes we have seen with beautiful raised relief Model U.S.M.R. panel. Cylinder has most of its original pasty military blue with one area of dents and minor corrosion. Frame retains considerable original dull military type case hardening as does hammer. Trigger retains much original bluing. All screws are original and retain some nitre blue. Loading lever has considerable traces of case colors. All matching including wedge. Bore is brilliant. Face of cylinder shows very little firing. Some nipples have original color. Brass backstrap and trigger guard have nice, mellow patina. Manufacturer: Colt Model: 3rd Model Dragoon Serial No. 10847 Caliber: .44 Barrel Length: 7 - 3/8” FFL Status: Antique One of the first Third Model Dragoons No. 10847 is preserved in extraordinarily fine condition. The barrel retains nearly all its pasty military type bluing with fading throughout and some extremely minor pitting at the very end of the muzzle. Frame retains considerable dove grey military type case hardening. Cylinder retains much of its original military type blue with perfect scene. Legible Ormsby signature and raised relief “U.S.M.R.” and Colt’s patent markings. Hammer retains unfaded case color with extremely minor flash pitting. Loading lever has most darkened case colors. Backstrap and trigger guard retain nearly all of their original factory silver plating. Varnished walnut grips retain much varnish with some indication of overfinish; right side of grip with 1” long gouge and some very minor dents. All matching numbers including wedge. Good bore with some roughness. the extremely rare rosewood box is brass bound with vertical lid, brown velvet lining and in the very rare French fitted style. Includes original Colt’s patent Dragoon flask that retains nearly all of its original lacquer on body with two very minor dents, and spout retains some original gilding; brass Colt’s patent mold in unmarked but correct, screwdriver retains considerable original finish, and large Eley cap tin. An excellent example of an extremely early Third Model Dragoon in the even rarer vertical lid, French fitted rosewood box, suitable for an extremely fine engraved specimen. 25,000 - 35,000

7 - (A) FINE RARE DELUXE CASED & FACTORY ENGRAVED COLT 1849 POCKET REVOLVER 4” BARREL WITH ORIGINAL IVORY GRIPS (1853). Manufacturer: Colt Model: 1849 Serial No. 82380 Caliber: .31 Barrel Length: 4” FFL Status: Antique Illustrated on page 65 of “Colt Pistols” by R.L. Wilson this beautiful engraved 1849 revolver features a very wide double engraved band at the muzzle, most unusual, with a monster head spewing out scrolls on the left side of the barrel and a second monster spewing out scrolls on the right side. The cylinder has a band of engraving towards the front, which is highly unusual. Frame has typical factory scroll engraving on both sides but is blued rather than casecolored. Barrel has much original bright bluing as does cylinder and frame. Backstrap and trigger guard retain most of their original heavy silver plating. Trigger guard also features an engraved shield within the scroll work. Hammer has hand knurled spur. Cylinder safeties are present. The ivory grips fit perfectly and are doubtless original to the gun. There appears to be a small period repair to the right grip towards the toe. Wedge appears to be unengraved but is numbered to match. Revolver is cased in a very rare and desirable vertical lid, brass bound rosewood case with wine red velvet lining and paper on bottom, as is proper with a deluxe rosewood box. Lid escutcheon is engraved “L.G. Wenige”. Magnificent Colt’s patent flask retains most of its original lacquer as well as gilding on spout and top. Brass Colt’s patent bullet mold is in fine condition; complete with cap tin and packet of combustible cartridges. 10,000 - 15,000

Manufacturer: Colt Model: 1849 Pocket Serial No. 68742, 68743 Caliber: .31 Barrel Length: 4” FFL Status: Antique Gun (A) Serial No. 68742 is beautifully engraved in the factory style referred to as cloud, or doughnut scroll. Barrel address engraved in script “Sam’l Colt”. Revolver has realistically rendered dog on left side of barrel lug and all screws are engraved except one backstrap screw. All numbers match. An eagle flask with crossed Colt revolvers which has some original lacquer; spout and top have gilding. Most, if not all, were sent to England and come complete with ultra deluxe engraved shoulder stocks. This set is very similar to the set on page 34 of the “Antique Arms Annual” and later featured in “Fine Colts, The Collection of Joseph Murphy”. Still another set was recently sold at a Midwestern auction, formally in the collection of Robert M. Lee of Sparks, Nevada. These extremely rare and attractive cased sets all bear British proofs have elaborate British casings. Serial No. 90137 has much original bright bluing on barrel with spotting and lifting. Barrel has a dog head head engraved on the left side. Frame has faded case colors, somewhat vivid in protected areas. Cylinder retains some original bluing, turning to brown. Excellent scene. Manufacturer: Colt Model: 1851 Navy Serial No. 58158, 58160 Caliber: .36 Barrel Length: 7 - 3/8” FFL Status: Antique This spectacular factory engraved ivory gripped deluxe cased set of Colt 1851 Navies was owned by Peruvian Rosendo Velasco, brother of the nation’s President. One of, if not the, finest pair of factory engraved silver plates Colt 1851 Navies known, the Velasco guns are true masterpieces of the engraver’s art. Gun (A) Serial No. 58160 has an eagle on the left side of the barrel lug and another hidden in the scroll work on the left side of the frame. The barrel retains nearly all of its factory silver plating. Ramrod retains virtually all the factory silver plating, as does the frame. Rare steel trigger guard retains most of its original 58

silver plating. Backstrap is mostly grey patina with factory inscription “Rosendo Velasco”. Ivory grips are excellent with one longitudinal type crack to right side of grip. Gun (B) Serial No. 58158 has a wild cat engraved on the left side of the barrel lug. Barrel retains much of the original silver plating with losses mostly on the right side of the barrel. Cylinder retains nearly all the original silver plating, as does the frame and trigger guard. Backstrap retains much original silver plating. Ivory grips are excellent. Wedge screw is possibly replated, as is the butt screw. All other screws are engraved en suite. Pin safeties worn, hammer retains nearly all its original silver plating. Wedge is numbered “5280” and engraved en suite; all other numbers match. Ultra deluxe rosewood case of the highest quality brass bound with escutcheon engraved by the same hand. Interior with wine red velvet and full silver plated accessories including slant charger dog flask with much silver plating. Silver plated Colt’s patent mold retains almost all original silver plating, four compartments with ivory pulls, James Dixon capper, packet of Sage cartridges and Eley cap tin. First Model Roots are extremely rare in their own right but the beautiful and elaborate scroll engraving on serial number 16 places it in its own category. Barrel and frame retain much original bright blue finish. Cylinder has turned to brown patina but still has crisp cylinder scene and Colt’s patent etching. Walnut grips retain most of the original varnish. The engraving involves a characteristic monster or dog on left side of frame spewing scrolls from its mouth. A similar monster appears on the right side of the frame, and a third on the back strap. The hammer is beautifully engraved and checkered, featuring eight dots on the saddle of the hammer; thought to represent eight days of engraving work. A French fitted rosewood case is of the vertical lid type with flask, mold, screwdriver and Hicks cap box. The wine red lining is faded but the case is in overall fine condition. This splendid revolver was once part of the legendary Jerry Berger Collection of Colts; sold at Christie’s on October 7, 1981 and is pictured on pages 152 and 153 of that catalog. According to the author of the catalog, legendary Colt expert R.L. Larry Wilson, “This is the side hammer Type 1 (175 produced), of which No. 16 is the finest known example. This engraved long barreled specimen is a rarity. Serial No. 2722 is engraved in the late line scroll style with a large eagle head on the left side of the barrel lug. Barrel retains considerable thinning bright blue and the cylinder scene is good with considerable traces of blue in rebated portion. Safeties are mostly intact. Manufacturer: Colt Model: 1860 Army Serial No. 111592 Caliber: .44 Barrel Length: 7 - 7/8” FFL Status: Antique This gun was presented to Major General William Starke Rosecrans by Colt’s Patents Manufacturing Company. One of the most important Colt factory presentations, the Rosecrans Army is as deluxe as a percussion Colt can be without gold inlay. The Rosecrans Army is embellished exactly like the pair presented to the Union Army George McClellan, one of which is in the Smithsonian Institution Museum. The barrel has much of the original blue finish. Cylinder has considerable traces of blue finish on the rebated portion. The case colored frame is faded to grey but still shows a few brighter spots. The backstrap is mostly grey patina but has blue in the protected areas Colt factory inscribed: “To Maj. Genl. W.S. Rosecrans With Respects of Colt’s Pt. FA. Mfg Co”. The inside of the triggerguard inscribed: “Genl R. to Colonel Coolbaugh”. The trigger guard silver has drifted. Hammer case colors have faded to grey, factory checkered loading lever has traces of case color 80

in protected area. Varnished deluxe grips retain most of their finish with a few minor marks throughout. The factory engraving on the Rosecrans Army is as deluxe as these presentation engraved Colt come. The barrel has nearly full coverage scrolls with eagle head on left side of barrel lug and dog head on right side of barrel lug. The cylinder scene is deeply hand enhanced and is engraved on the rebated portion. The hammer is fully engraved with hand checkered hammer spur and five dots indicating days of engraving. Two cylinder pin safeties are damaged and all others are relatively intact. All numbers match. This iconic Colt percussion Army is first featured in R. L. Wilson’s first book, entitled “Samuel Colt Presents” and is pictured on page 189, fig. 118 with the owner listed as J. S. DuMont. The Rosecrans Army appeared again in the collection of George R. Repaire, owner of the Sultan of Turkey Dragoon. This Colt icon is offered in an original mahogany case with Colt’s patent stand of arms flask retaining nearly all its lacquer, most of its gilding on spout and top. Includes also high polish screwdriver, Colt’s patent mold retaining most of its original blue and Carte de Visite. Lining of case is very good with some small tears, exterior of case has most of its varnish. Provenance John S. DuMont and George R. Repaire. The history of General Rosecrans is well known. This beautiful revolver, serial number 14501E, retains nearly 100% of its factory silver plating on barrel, frame, and loading lever, somewhat darkened in protected areas. Cylinder retains considerable original gliding with lifting and wear. Trigger guard retains nearly all the factory silver plating. Engraved “Capt. Ge. Washburn”. Superb factory checkered ivory grips are carved on left side with a Zouave in high relief. All pin safeties are intact and gun has seen very little use. Frame screws are blued, slightly marred. 84

Engraving is sharp and crisp throughout. Revolver is mentioned in Major Washburn obituary published in the January 17, 1903 issue of the Democratic Register of Ossining, New York, as “a magnificent gold and silver mounted revolver.” Gun is cased in a magnificent brass-bound vertical lid rosewood case with shield escutcheon beautifully engraved “Capt. Geo. Washburn/133d Regt./N.Y.Vol.”. Case is lined in wine red velvet with very rare Colt’s patent silver plated flask retaining nearly all of its darkened silver on body spout and top. Blued Colt’s patent mold retains nearly all the original finish. Other accessories include screwdriver, oil bottle, two partial paper packet cartridges, and Hall’s cap tin. Case is in excellent condition. It is extremely rare to find an inscribed gun in an inscribed case, which guaranties that the gun came in the case. Together with the Navy is a presentation 1850 foot officer’s sword with initials “G.W.” and further inscribed “Presented to Lieut. Geo. Washburn/by his friends/of the first Platoon of the/27th Police Precinct/New York. Sept 10th 1862.” Sword is well worn and shows much use and carry. Manufacturer: Colt Model: 2nd Model Derringer Serial No. 3847 Caliber: .40 Barrel Length: 2 - 1/8” FFL Status: Antique An extremely rare and highly desirable Colt Model No. 2 derringer with barrel of sterling metal. Factory ivory grips. There is only a handful of Colt Model No. 2 derringer stamped “A.M.Sterling.” A letter from the Connecticut State Library to the dean of Colt derringer collectors, George S. Lewis, Jr., states that they received a letter from the Colt company with the following notation, dated Tue. August 27th, 1872: “1 Natnl. Der. Pistol made of Sterling Metal from Am. Sterling Co. To American Sterling Co., Naubuc (Conn), Aug. 15th.” Due to the malleable nature of the sterling metal, gun No. 3847 has numerous dents on barrel and frame, but is still bright with perfect markings and sharp engraving. Hammer has traces of blue on spine. There is a minute stress crack on left side of frame, extending approximately 1/4” but does not detract in the least. Ivory grips fit well and show fine patina with tight age cracking on both panels. These American Sterling marked Colt deringers are the rarest and most desirable of all Colt No. 2 derringers. J.D. Serial number 7255 retains most of its original bright blue finish on loading lever and frame. Barrel is 4 - 1/2” and has most of its original bright blue finish. 38 - (A) RARE SUPERB CASED FACTORY ENGRAVED PRESENTATION COLT 1862 POLICE REVOLVER INSCRIBED TO HENRY KELLOGG (1866). Manufacturer: Colt Model: 1862 Serial No. 30073 Caliber: .36 Barrel Length: 4 - 3/8” FFL Status: Antique Factory documented and one of the finest and rarest Colt Police Models known, the Kellogg 1862 Police is iconic. The Kellogg Police is pictured in full color on page 116 of “The Colt Heritage” by R. L. Wilson. In a letter to Eric Vaule written in 1966, Wilson reveals that serial No. 30073 is recorded in “Journal B, Colt’s Patent Fire Arms Mfg. Co.”, Hartford April 30th, 1866. “345 Presentation a/c 4 [for] 1 4 1/2 in Police Pistol Engd & Appendages Presented to Henry Kellogg Esq Hartford 16.41”. These notations reveal that the Police pistol was a 4-1/2” model, presentation engraved and cased with accessories, 102

given by the Colt company to Henry Kellogg on April 30th 1866. This spectacular revolver is engraved in the late vine scroll with a fierce eagle head on left side of barrel. Barrel retains much original bright blue. Cylinder has nearly all the bright original blue except for a spot where is rested in its case and flaked. Bore is mint. Frame and lever retain most of their bright rainbow case colors. Safety pins are flat. Trigger guard and back strap retain most of the of original silver plating. Superbly cut inscription reads “Henry Kellogg/ With compliments of Colts P. F. A.M. Co.” Superbly figured deluxe varnished walnut grip retains nearly 100% finish. Mahogany case is in excellent condition inside and out with Colt’s patent flask retaining nearly all original lacquer and gilt finishes. Correct Colt’s patent bullet mold retains much original bluing. Paper wrapped Eley’s cap tin is in very fine condition. Packet of combustible cartridges and image of Henry Kellogg included. COLT LONDON” address but is 100% American and no British proofs. Factory engraved barrel retains most of its original bright blue with some extremely minor corrosion, mostly on left side of barrel. All numbers matching including wedge. Cylinder retains most of its original bright blue with some fading and one bare spot over one chamber. Frame retains much original bright case hardening. Garcia Commander-in-Chief of the Line of Bravo, Matamoros, Mexico. This spectacular set of guns was prominently features in a photo depicting the collection of Raymond Stagg, circa 1930. They were the pride of the Harolds Club Museum of the Old West collection and pictured 112

in their brochure. Later, these fantastic works of art were purchased by the late legendary collector George Repaire. These were the last purchase made by George before he passed away. Gun (A) Serial No. 181620 retains much original bright gilding on barrel. Cylinder retains bright gilding on rebated portion and portion with scene is turning silver. Frame retains nearly all of it bright gilding, trigger guard with most of its gilding, back strap mostly steel color with “G. Garcia” engraved in an oval. Cylinder has bright gilding on rebated portions turning silver on portion that is scene. Barrel is engraved in a similar style to its mate and lacking the large arrows. Frame screws are blued, magnificent ivory grips are identical to the match. Excellent condition throughout. Brass bound rosewood casing is one of the most elaborate now, comparable to the casing of the Eustace Barron 1860 Armies, also gilded but not engraved. Interior of box has wine red, slightly faded lining and is piped in green felt. Includes elaborate two compartment silver plated flask, Colt’s patent silver plated mold and silver plated screwdriver. Interestingly, General Garcia was well known to Robert E. Lee when he was a Brevet Colonel commanding the Department of Texas. Careful research will only enhance the historical significance of these guns. Case itself is in excellent condition with shield escutcheon engraved “G. G.” for General Garcia. All matching parts, including barrel and cylinder. Barrel retains considerable original bluing, would rate excellent for early Ainsworth. Ejector rod housing has most original blue on inside and protected areas. Manufacturer: Colt Model: Lightning Serial No. 97530 Caliber: .38 Barrel Length: 4 - 3/8” FFL Status: Antique Includes factory letter documenting all features except grips. This is the most luxuriously engraved Colt Lightning revolver known, prominently pictured on pages 256 and 257 of “Colt Pistols, The Collection of R. E. Hable” by Larry Wilson. The entire gun retains nearly all of its bright Colt nickle finish with some minor fading within the engraved cylinder flutes. The sunburst treatments on the recoil shield are reminiscent of the famous panel scene Colt Single Actions. The engraving on the cylinder is of a quality reserved for the magnificent Panel Scene Single Actions. Each chamber has an alternating different treatment, with three chambers having shields and sunbursts, and the other three with scrolls on a punch dot background. The engraving on the trigger guard is also of the highest order with dozens of tiny panels filled with engraving. The frame is beautifully engraved with scrolls and flowers on a punch dot background. The owner’s initials are beautifully engraved on the back strap. All the screws retain nearly all their original Colt factory nitre blue. The hammer retains almost all its original niter blue with minor loss towards the top. Sides of hammer are a bright polish. Beautifully contrasting gutta percha grips are most elegant in combination with the high polish nickel. Bore is brilliant and face of cylinder shows little evidence of firing. The engraving on this revolver stands up to the closest examination and the more one studies it, the more one appreciates the artistry. This superb New Police is possibly the finest known example of this model revolver. It was presented to Henry E. Hastings at Christmas in 1883. Mr. Hastings was a member of the First Church of Hartford and doubtless a wealthy and prominent citizen at that time. The beautiful revolver retains nearly 100% of its original bright Colt factory nickel throughout, with only the most minor haze forming at extreme butt. The etched New Police panel is as it left the factory in 1883.The nearly full coverage engraving is lovely and makes the Hastings New Police look like a smaller version of a Panel Scene Single Action Army. Frame retains nearly all of its original case colors. Trigger guard retains nearly all its original bright high polish blue with slight browning around the strain screw. One of the finest factory engraved Colt automatics, No. 2612 features almost full coverage on the frame with incredibly finely cut scroll with Helfrichtâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s own checkering pattern within. Grip safety is beautifully engraved as well and slide has 3/4 coverage. A beautifully cut starburst decorates the rear of the slide. Pistol retains nearly all the original bright bluing with some thinning towards front of slide and frame. Very slight wear on front safety and strap. Trigger has most of the nitre blue with slight rub to rear sight. The rarity and desirability of this fantastic Colt is further enhanced by it being a first year production piece, a barrel bushing gun. U.S. Army 1903 double actions are rare to find with factory engraving but to find a consecutively numbered pair is more than unusual. Both revolvers have “J.T.T.” 158

Manufacturer: Colt Model: 1873 Serial No. 305413 Caliber: .45 Barrel Length: 4 - 5/8” FFL Status: Antique With Colt factory letter confirming configuration and shipment to H&D Folsom, New York, C/o Nat Sportsman, August 12th, 1908. The Sheriff’s Model Colt Single Action Army is the single most desirable configuration aside from the legendary Colt Buntline. Serial No. 305413 has most of its original blue on the barrel, full dimension front sight with an extremely minor dent and minuscule pitting at the extreme front of the muzzle. Frame retains considerable fading case colors. Patent dates and encircled rampant Colt are worn, however gun does not appear to have been refinished. Possibly an old frame was reused as Colt was notoriously prone to reuse parts. Cylinder retains much original bright bluing with medium-strong tracking line. Trigger guard retains considerable original blue. Backstrap mostly steel color with some bluing in recesses. Hammer retains some bright case coloring. Screws retain most of their original factory nitre blue. Action is crisp and bore is brilliant. Rare and desirable factory panel checkered walnut grips retain much original varnish, pencil numbered 305413 and further stamped “223” at butt. This very fine, late Sheriff’s Model once belonged to well-known and respected Colt collector and Colt Collectors Association President Jeff Faintich who wrote for the letter in February of 1989. Right side of slide factory marked “COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBRE 45” with left side having the two line commercial Colt address and the rampant Colt without surrounding circle. Features diamond pattern checkered walnut grips and blued barrel with bright polished chamber top. Accompanied by three lanyard loop equipped two tone magazines. Pistol is housed in a fitted oak case with provision for two spare magazines, eighteen .45 ACP cartridges and a nickel over brass tubular pistol cleaning kit of unknown manufacture. Superb condition with little or no indication of use. Bore is bright and shiny with sharp rifling. The action is crisp and in proper order. The grips are very fine with sharp points on the checkering and no chips or material loss. The oak casing is extremely fine with fine green crushed felt interior with a slight witness mark of oil staining from the pistol residing in it. The furniture is all fine and without distress. FFL Status: Curio & Relic A very rare factory engraved Colt Pocket Positive with spectacular deep-sunk medallion pearl grips with serial No. 92838, manufactured 1920. R.L. Wilson states that fewer than 100 Pocket Positives were factory engraved and this one is a particularly attractive factory engraved gun with delicate scrolls and a sunburst in panel on right side of frame. Barrel retains nearly all of its original bluing, as does the cylinder and frame. The right side of frame is browning slightly and backstrap shows carrying wear to blue. Bore is brilliant. Trigger has almost all of its original blue finish. Blue on hammer saddle still bright, sides of hammer bright polished. Thick factory grips are in excellent condition with one extremely minor chip at very top of left grip. Shipped March 22nd, 1900 to Colt’s London agency. This gem of a New Service is accompanied by a Colt letter, dated February 2nd, 1956, sent to Liverpool, England by Colt Museum curator Charles H. Coles. Aside from a very light tracking line, the gun is basically as new and appears to be unfired. Retains 100% of the factory bright nickel finish. The nickel magazine is a good as the rest of the pistol. The factory pearl grips have great fire and no chips. This Police Positive is virtually as it left the factory nearly 100 years ago and retains 99% of its original factory blue with only the faintest tracking line on cylinder. Checkered walnut grips are as new with Colt medallion inserts. This revolver shows no evidence of having been fired; bore is as new. Face of cylinder is perfect. Manufacturer: Colt Model: Police Positive Serial No. 363377 Caliber: .38 Special Barrel Length: 3 - 7/8â&#x20AC;? FFL Status: Curio & Relic The Clarence Dunbar cased factory engraved and gold inlaid Colt Police Positive revolver. One of the most renowned icons of Colt Double Action collecting, this was originally in the collection of the renowned David S. Woloch. Featured in the 1981 Christieâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Colt sale, as Lot 50, this magnificent revolver is fully documented in the Colt ledgers, as engraved Grade 2.5 engraving with blued finish and pearl grips. According to R. L. Wilson, fewer than 7 engraved and gold inlaid Police Positives exist and those with factory casings are even rarer. Revolver retains nearly 100% original bright blue with bright polish on hammer. Medallion pearl grips are mint. Hardening color appears on ejector rod. Original Colt case is scuffed. The elaborate silver presentation plaque to Mr. Dunbar is in good condition. Interior of case is good; original cleaning rod is present. Clarence Dunbar founded the armored car service of Mercer & Dunbar. It would be impossible to improve upon this gold inlaid Colt. 15,000 - 30,000

FFL Status: Curio & Relic A pristine, nearly new commercial M1911 Colt .45 Automatic in its original paper box. This extremely fine automatic pistol is in brilliant condition, which most people would call mint. Slide retains 99% of its brilliant factory blue with a few extremely negligible scratches here and there. Frame retains nearly all of its original brilliant factory blue, with a few minor scratches, mostly on front grip strap and four negligible scratches from the takedown lever. Hammer indicates little or no use. Bore is brilliant. Original checkered walnut grips are nearly perfect, as are grip screws. Original two tone magazine retains nearly all its original finish. Box is numbered to gun with instructions but is in poor condition. A pristine early commercial Colt Government Model 1911. 4,000 - 6,000

Manufacturer: Colt Model: Police Positive Target Serial No. 39200 Caliber: .22 Barrel Length: 5 - 7/8” FFL Status: Curio & Relic An extremely rare, one-of-ten ever made, factory engraved Colt Police Positive Target .22 revolvers. One of the very rarest factory engraved Colt double actions, this Police Positive Target has beautiful factory engraving, likely by Wilbur Glahn. Gun retains nearly 100% of its original nickel finish, which was once gold-washed. There is much gilding remaining on top strap and sides of frame. Face of cylinder appears to have been polished. Trigger shows considerable traces of gilding within checkering, as does checkered backstrap. Factory medallion pearl grips have beautiful fire, medallion on right side retains gilding. This extremely rare and desirable revolver must have been truly spectacular when fully gilded and remains spectacular as offered. Manufacturer: Colt Model: 1908 Pocket Serial No. 395472 Caliber: .25 Barrel Length: 1 - 7/8” FFL Status: Curio & Relic Manufactured specifically for internationally famous, Oscar-winning, Paramount Pictures film star Claudette Colbert. This fabulous Model 1908 .25 caliber pistol is completely documented in the Colt factory records as “Class A engraved”, probably by Wilbur Glahn, and richly plated in gold with thick factory pearl grips noted in the Colt factory record as “Pearl with gold inlaid lettering ‘CC’”. Shipped to Captain E. H. Robinson, a former army bomber pilot and one of the best know technical directors of air pictures in the 1930’s. Captain Robinson is seemingly one of Mrs. Colbert many admirers and presented her with this pistol as a token of esteem. This fabulous and cinema historic automatic retains nearly all of its factory bright gold plating with little, if any, wear. Gun is contained in a contemporary book casing with purple lining. Lining is somewhat worn with tender hinges. Gold plated magazine en suite with gold plated trigger and engraved grip safety. Claudette Colbert won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in “It Happened One Night” in 1934. Aside from its great rarity as a gold plated factory engraved 1908, serial No. 395472 is of incalculable film historic significance as having been the personal weapon of one of classic Hollywood’s greatest female stars. 10,000 - 20,000

Manufacturer: Colt Model: Woodsman Serial No. 145744 Caliber: .22LR Barrel Length: 6 - 5/8” FFL Status: Curio & Relic Barrel with Colt two line address on top of barrel, elevation adjustable front target sight with screw adjustable rear sight and two piece checkered walnut grips with nickel silver escutcheons. Left receiver marked “THE WOODSMAN”. Slide marked with traditional “COLT AUTOMATIC CAL. 22 LONG RIFLE” with rampant Colt. An unusual inspection proof of “(crown) W” is found on the right side of the trigger guard. This proof has only been observed on 1941 production Colt automatics and revolvers delivered to Great Britain during the year of 1941. The pistol is housed in a retailer’s fitted leather truck case with green velvet lining and the retailer’s label in the lid “GRAY & CO. GUN AND RIFLE MAKERS 14 UNION STREET INVERNESS”. Cased pistol is accompanied by two ten round Colt magazines; one two tone and one solid blue finish, both being marked on the base “COLT WOODSMAN 22 LR”. Extremely fine with a minuscule amount of finish loss at the extreme edge of the rear sight corners and a slight witness mark of use on the face of the slide from firing. The grips are perfect with sharp points on the checkering and no indication of wear. The spare magazine has a small scratch across the base and slight finish loss from being inserted into the magazine well. The small leather truck style case is very fine with expected scuffing and scrapes to exterior of leather. The interior is very fine with all velvet intact. Retailers label is excellent as well with all gold lettering and is fully intact. The partitions are solid and have no evidence of being reinstalled or repaired. Truly an outstanding pre-war Colt automatic. 1,500 - 2,500
