“I began collecting art in 1981 and am still collecting which has manifested itself into the launch of Cane Roots Art Gallery, the blue and white building at 24 Company Street,” says owner Sonia Deane. “Though I am not an artist myself, the process of the gallery renovation became a canvas for me. I believe that there is a renaissance of the artist community here and I am truly excited to be a part of it. Running through April and May is The Color of Light. Local artists El’Roy Simmonds and Niarus Walker display their boldness of color from the architectural to the human experience. A wonderful calendar of exhibits continues for 2023 and we also hope to serve as an assemblage of artists and a con- vergence of ideas.
