Reflections Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Cor 15:58
O
n Sunday evening, January 17, 2010, Rev. William E. Lee, Sr., peacefully made his transition into life everlasting and ascending to a place of eternal rest. Born on March 6, 1934 to the late Timothy Lee and Mary Moss Lee.
Thy Will Be Done It’s very difficult at times,
“Life is what you make it”
To face grief with a smile.
Is sometimes far from true,
It’s hard to make ourselves believe
But the strength to keep on going,
All passes on a while,
Has got to come from you.
And when the pain is sharpest,
To leave to Him the rest.
Words seem to no avail.
He was a native of Mississippi and a resident of New York for the majority of his life before relocating to North Carolina over twenty years ago. Rev. Lee was a graduate of B. I. High School, Tyro, Miss., Hollis Springs Seminary School and New York School of Theology. For thirteen years, he was the pastor of Greater Tabernacle Baptist Church, New York and was the present pastor of New Ephesus Baptist Church, Ruffin. Being a man of God with many talents including a harmonious voice, he was a member of the Sensational Lee Brothers.
When tears fall hot and heavy,
God promised to be with us,
The best intentions fails.
And to forsake us not,
And yet however heavy,
Whatever be our lot.
Possessing a broad physique and prominent stature, he was a gentle and compassionate person, always concerned about the welfare of others. Because of his true love for God and mankind, he was adored and respected by everyone. He indeed leaves a profound legacy to forever cherish. We thank God for the influence and life of our beloved, Rev. William Eto Lee, Sr.
The burdens that we bear,
He only asks that we believe
When no one else will listen,
He always does what’s best.
The Lord can always hear,
To do all that we can and then
In addition to his parents, siblings, Minnie Mae Moore, Vernice Price and Elder James Lee, preceded him in death.
When no one else will bother,
Each heartache we can rise above,
The Lord will lend a hand,
Becomes a battle won,
The remembrance of shared moments bring comfort and peace to surviving relatives: a beloved and endearing wife, Cora Crawford Lee; three daughters, Min. Jacqueline Chambers, Joycee Manning (Phillip), Tina Lee; stepdaughter, Denise Myles; three sons, William E. Lee, Jr., Emanuel Lee and Bernard Lee; eleven grandchildren, O’Bryant, Chambers, Justin, Cora, Phillip, Jr., Parris, Payton, Caleb, Kaylin, Anthony and Arie; two great-grandhchildren, Zion and Erica; five sisters, Levone Morrman, Verlean Logan, Min. Bertha Newsome, Toni Thornton (Larry) and Martha Brass; six brothers, William T. Lee, George Lee (Mary), Henry Lee (Fannie), Charles Lee, Rev. Eddie Lee (Vera), Maurice Lee (Yahdeh); five sisters-in-law; five brothers-inlaw; other relatives and a plethora of cherished friends.
However others scorn us,
When we can give ourselves to Him,
The Lord will understand.
And say “Thy will be done.”
He only ask we trust in Him,
Grace E. Easley
A Pastor’s Call We know it is not easy to always be on call, For a Pastor’s work is never done. With so many illnesses creeping our way, who do we call? The time you have is not your own. God sent you with a purpose, Sent you with a plan, Sent you with a destiny from God’s own hand. You are always willing to lend a listening ear When no one else seems to care. You have a big heart devoted to God first And then to fellow man. Who is this man?
