Morton buildings are built to withstand the test of time, and our Hi-Rib steel is a critical element in making our buildings the best in the business. Whether your roof is starting to show its age or you are simply looking for an alternative to shingles for your new construction, a steel roof from Morton provides a low-maintenance, long-lasting alternative to traditional residential roof materials. Roll formed at one of Morton’s six manufacturing plants throughout the United States, the commercial-quality steel is engineered to stand up to the elements. Morton’s steel is .019 inches thick with a one-inch tall major rib–providing added strength over the typical steel from a competitor.

A coating of zinc or a mixture of zinc and aluminum is also applied to Morton’s steel, protecting against rust, corrosion and other various elements. Morton offers both galvanized and galvalume coated steel.

Morton also uses the FLUOROFLEX 1000 paint system, consisting of several layers of protection and a 70% PVDF top coat or color coat that is weather and corrosion resistant.
