BUYING AT AUCTION BE A PART OF THE ACTION AND EXPERIENCE HOUSTON’S CHOICE FOR BUYING AT AUCTION. Morton Auctioneers provides a simple and easy process, whether it’s your first time or you are a seasoned buyer. Our auctions are free and open to the public, and you are under no obligation to bid. The arrangements for the auction are listed in this section and should be understood before bidding in the sale.

VIEWING Prior to the auction at Morton Auctioneers, all lots can be previewed online at mortonhouston.com. We have an e-catalog and a search feature, allowing you to view the sale lot by lot, or search for a specific item. Of course, the best way to obtain information about specific lots available at the auction is to view the items in person.

CONDITION REPORTS Condition reports can be provided and our Specialists are available to answer specific questions prior to the sale. Condition reports will not be given the day of the sale. Because all lots are sold “where is, as is” and condition is a subjective issue, we strongly encourage you to preview the items in person prior to bidding.

HOW TO BID Before bidding it is imperative that you read and understand our Terms and Conditions of sale (see back of catalog). Prior to bidding in the sale, you will need to register your information. We encourage you to register with us in advance. This can be done at the preview or by contacting our Client Services team at 713.827.7835. On the day of the auction, you will be issued a numbered paddle, with which to bid—this is registered to you, so keep it with you at all times during the auction. Please return paddle before leaving. Once the auction has begun the auctioneer will announce the lot number of each item as it is presented for sale. The auctioneer will then begin accepting bids on that lot. To place a bid, simply raise your paddle. The auctioneer will continue to raise the bid until only one bidder remains. The last remaining bidder is the successful buyer. By bidding at Morton Auctioneers, whether in person or by agent, absentee bid, telephone, Internet or other means, the purchaser or bidder agrees to be bound by the Terms and Conditions of Sale.

Phone bidding can be arranged by calling our Client Services Department at 713.827.7835. During the auction, one of our representatives will call you shortly before we approach the lot of interest. The representative will communicate the current asking price to you, and bid on your behalf.

ABSENTEE BIDDING If you are not able to attend the auction in person, you may place an absentee bid by calling our Client Service Department at 713.827.7835. The bid amount you leave will be interpreted as the maximum hammer price you are willing to bid on the lot, not including the 22 percent buyer’s premium and applicable taxes. You may download and print an absentee bid form at: mortonhouston.com. Completed forms can be faxed to our offices at 713.827.1507 or emailed to bid@mortonhouston.com. All forms must be signed. Incomplete forms will not be accepted. All absentee bids are executed at the lowest possible bid increment with respect to the floor bids. All absentee bids are confidential. Morton will not be liable for the failure to execute any bid for any reason.

INTERNET BIDDING For real-time internet bidding, please visit liveauctioneers.com or bidsquare.com. You will be required to login, or sign-up for an account if you have not already done so, and then register for the auction. If you are a first-time internet bidder, we recommend registering a few days before the start of the auction due to required preliminary credit verification by the Morton Auctioneers administrative staff. It’s easy and we’re only a phone call away if you need assistance. For more information, please visit our web site at: www.mortonhouston.com

¿CÓMO SE COMPRA EN SUBASTA? ¡BIENVENIDO!
