Agricultural & Industrial Mechanisation Group (AIM Group) supply agricultural tractors & implements, waste management equipment, trailers & tankers to farmers, municipalities and industrial & mining sectors. The AIM Group was established in 1962 by Mr. Norman Jones. It was incorporated on 18 December 1969 and in January 1970 acquired the AIM Group Companies holding the Massey Ferguson franchise in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Vereeniging and in November 1977 Mr. R. Wiggill purchased 100% of the company from Standard Bank. It held retail franchises for various industrial, mining, agricultural and other equipment in areas of the Transvaal and Orange Free State and also supplied tractor equipment to the construction industry. In 1969 it developed a world first flame proofed tractor – approved by the South African Bureau of Standards – for use underground in collieries and other applications where there was risk of gas explosions. A license to manufacture and sell the innovative Power X Tractor-Trailer-Container handling system was acquired. This product has become an important contributor to AIM Group revenues. Gehl Skidsteer Loaders (manufactured in the USA) was also included in the AIM Group range of products, but due to the overseas take-over of Gehl by Manitou in 2008, this product is now being handled by Manitou S.A. Currently AIM Group operates from its Branches in Delmas (Mpumalanga Province) and Jet Park (Gauteng Province).
