Mossery Planner: Tips, Guides & Usage Examples

Issue No. 2

It’s not easy to do what you love or love what you do.

Leaving our full-time jobs to build Mossery was not easy. We were directionless and thoughts of giving up plagued our minds. One question kept coming back to us: Why put ourselves through so much pressure doing what we love? We reminded ourselves of our purpose and wrote it down in our notebooks — that we started Mossery to make stationery that can bring about real change in people’s lives. We even penned down our mission: to help boost productivity and encourage others to unleash their creativity. Since then, our mission and beliefs have helped move us forward to create meaningful products.

Finding purpose and loving what we do.

We learned that the most successful people and companies truly believe in what they do and understood why they do so. The ‘why’ gave them the drive and a sense of purpose towards their work. With that in mind, we structured the Mossery Planner to begin with the ‘why’ — for you to think about your inspirations, values, beliefs and to visualise a better future. Although the Mossery Planner only encompasses a single year, it is no less a representation of our attitude towards life itself — that the search for our identity and purpose should be a lifelong quest.

Inspired greatly by Carl Sagan’s Pale Blue Dot, the first few pages of the planner portrays the sheer smallness of our existence as human beings in this colossal universe. We may be small, but we can make a difference in this big, beautiful world with our ‘little’ lives.

Digital Revolution

The following spreads feature inspirational figures. Carefully curated from a diverse list of selected individuals, each represents a legacy left behind. From building extraordinary structures in ancient Egypt to telling fantastical stories in modern Japan, we hope to inspire you through these great figures.

Having your own goals and values is like having a life compass: whenever you are lost, your compass is here to guide you and lead you back in the right direction.

Tip: Visualising your future self is a way to set the right mindset and to understand the things that need to be changed.

Tip: What are some of the values and beliefs that you would like to practise on a daily basis?

Looking back

We can learn a lot from the past. By taking the time to recognise the importance of our past and learning humbly from it, we’re able to pave out a better future. That’s a theme we would like to introduce this year — to be constantly planning and reviewing our time.
